"What happened?" "She hit her head pretty hard," Tanner said, refusing to really explain. "Should I call a medic?" Lily asked, already taking out her phone. "Good idea," Tanner and Pax said in unison. This made Pax cringe.

Soon, they were in the hospital. Lily had to wait in the car because she wasn't family.

"I'm sorry," Tanner said, his voice cracking through the silence. Pax smiled a bit.

They spent the next hour talking and crying.

"Take care of her," Tanner heard Eliza whisper.

"Stop being so fucking dramatic, Eliza, the doctor says you're going to be fine."
