Do you remember? The twenty-first night of September
🎵
Yep, I was forced to stay in my apartment.
I tried coming down this morning but unfortunately May had arrived early and was sorting through books.
She spotted me and gave me a stern glare.
I raised my hands in defeat and wordlessly walked back up and settled onto my couch, to which I've been sitting on watching a show for the past few hours.
It was almost noon now, and I had just finished the last episode in the first season of my show.
I sighed boredly. "I want to break free.." I sung sarcastically. "I want to break freeeeeee.."
I took a look at my phone, watching the clock move the minutes slowly.
I got up carefully, and walked to my counter where my glasses sat.
Fortunately they didn't get crushed in the accident, I happened to not be wearing them at that moment.
I took my glasses and put them on, and walked downstairs again, but this time more sneakily.
Call it boredom or a rebellious streak, I just wanted out.
I peeked over the railing to find May, Liz and Bella working on the pile, which was significantly smaller now, and would probably be cleaned up by later today.
I looked around for Jason but he wasn't there. Which was totally fine. He didn't have to be here every day.
Although I kinda wished he was.
For.. company, of course. I was bored. Jason had thousands of stories to tell, and I was craving some attention.
I sat on the stairs, essentially hiding as I leaned against the railing and listened to May and Liz sing along to Hamilton.
Bella didn't seem to take part in the singing, as I didn't hear her voice at all. Maybe it wasn't her cup of tea, which is fine. Hamilton isn't for everyone.
Although it is pretty catchy.
I opened up my journal and started jotting down ideas, wishes, desires and recent dreams.
I wanted to keep busy and be around people, so sitting at the bottom of the stairs- essentially hiding- but still feeling apart of something.
"Hey May, can we start decorating for fall after all this?" Liz spoke up, excitement evident in her voice.
May sighed. "Might as well."
I leaned my head against the railing and closed my eyes, listening to Liz jabber on and quote Hamilton, May humming along.
My eyes opened suddenly as I felt my body being lifted up the stairs. "Woah-" I looked up to see Jason.
"Hey, you're okay. Just bringing you back up." He replied calmly, holding me in his arms.
Bro is strong
"I can walk, put me down.." I protested.
Jason squeezed me in retaliation. "You're still injured, too bad."
I pouted. "I thought you weren't coming today.." I mentioned as Jason pushed my door open with a foot and walked in, turning slightly and kicking it closed.
He gently sat me down on the couch, standing over me as I crossed my arms.
"I wasn't... but I wanted to so I did." He replied. "May said you were on house arrest, why did I find you asleep on the stairs?"
"Can I not sleep on the stairs?" I raised an eyebrow, refusing to reveal the real reason why I was sitting on the bottom step.. and apparently asleep.
Jason sighed heavily, putting his hand on his face, "No.. Percy. you can't."
"I'm fine, really."
"That's not what I'm asking."
"Where's my notebook?" I asked suddenly, looking around the couch.
"Here." He passed my notebook, which fit in his pocket apparently.
I took it, placing it on my lap. "You didn't look at it, did you?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I might've, but it's not like I can read whatever was in there.. what language was it?" He shrugged, moving to sit beside me.
"Greek.." I admitted softly.
"Huh. Any other languages?" He asked curiously.
"Uh nope. I know a bit of Latin. That's about it."
Technically Atlantean but who's counting.
"Do you know any other languages?" I asked.
"A few, yeah." He grinned.
"Like what?" I asked curiously.
"German, Portuguese, Italian, French, Japanese, Spanish, and I'm pretty bad at Russian."
I blinked a couple times, utterly stunned. "Okay.. you're.. fluent?"
"All." He grinned. "Except Russian."
"Okay, didn't expect all that but.. nice." I leaned back resting my head on the arm rest, my foot wiggling rhythmically.
"It's not really all that surprising. All my siblings know multiple languages." He said.
I huffed. "Right cause your dad's rich? You know most americans can't speak more than two."
"A low standard. Think of all the books you'd be missing out on merely because you don't know the language?"
I lift my head to look at him. "I was kinda too busy with life to worry about not getting to read books."
"My dad just wanted to make sure I was well trained for the world.." he sighed, and I dropped my head, tired of holding it up.
"Are you tired?" He added.
"Yeah. I donno why though. I've done nothing tiring. I've sat around all day..."
"You've been healing a pretty fun wound there. It saps your energy. Could be blood loss.. stress.." he answered casually.
"This is lame." I groan. "And I'm bored.."
"Want to.. play a game?" He asked, still lounging with me on my couch. (Although he was sitting but I was laying awkwardly.)
"I don't have any games.." I admitted.
"You don't have any?" Jason said incredulously.
"Who would I play with? What's the point."
"You're acting like a depressed introvert."
"I am a depressed introvert." I grin.
"That's not funny." He glared pointedly.
"What and you're not?" I countered.
"How'd you know?" He laughed.
"I was kidding." Although you do get lost in thought sometimes.
"Well I guess I can read you a book?" He offered.
I poked my head back up. "Ooooh?"
The thought of hearing him read me something was weirdly appealing.
"Anne of green gables?" I requested.
"It's in my room, the shelf above my bed?"
He nodded. "I'll be back."
Surprisingly he picked the right door out of the two he could've chosen, the other being the bathroom.
He returned a moment later, holding Anne of Green Gables in his hand.
I sat up again and leaned back against the couch as Jason sat beside me.
He started to read and I eventually rested my head on his shoulder, my eyes following the words on the page as he read them, his smooth deep voice soothing.
I think I fell asleep again. Oh well. He's a comfy pillow so.. that's his problem.

Hi everyone!
Hope you are having a good weekend! Merry Christmas in advance!
I put all my chapters into a google docs folder to see how many words I had and including this chapter, we'd be at about 35,000! That's pretty exciting for me.
I'm hoping to be able to write something original someday and actually finish it. This is nice practice lol.
Anyways have a *phonetastic* day!
Toodles!
