Soaring Hearts

(Sorry if this is cliche, I couldn't think of anything else)

The orange SkyWing soared across the pale sky, heavily standing out from the blue colors. She craned her neck behind, looking at the three other dragons that followed. One of which was a darker red, another was pale orange, and the third was dark orange.

The dark orange SkyWing spoke up. "Dawnbreaker? Are you sure this is where you saw it?"

"Yesss..." Dawnbreaker said, her voice slithering slightly. "The missing SkyWing was spotted here."

"You've never searched this hard for one dragon! Does Dawnbreaker have a crush~?"

"For the last time Cranberry! I don't have a crush!"

Cranberry chuckled. "Sure you don't... anyways, keep up with the patrol! I'm sure you miss that special someone!"

"FOR THE LAST TIME! I DON'T-" Dawnbreaker stopped herself and sighed. "Fine, let's keep going."

The patrol swooped around the towers of the SkyWing castle, and dipped into the forest below. The four SkyWings landed, and looked around.

Dawnbreaker eventually found a very particular set of tracks in the mud, and followed them.

Eventually, they were led to the missing SkyWing. A skinny and short pink SkyWing, who had no fire.

"What are you doing out here?! Having no fire, you could've gotten yourself killed!" Dawnbreaker hissed.

"I-I was hunting!" the pink SkyWing said, trying to defend herself.

"No matter what you were doing, you're coming back. Let's go."

The group of now 5 dragons went back to the castle.

Once Cranberry and other two SkyWings left, Dawnbreaker turned to the pink SkyWing.

"Canary, you know you can't go out there like that! You could've died!"

"I know, but..." the pink dragon sighed. "Oh, who am I kidding? I just wanted to do something useful! To prove to the kingdom that just because I don't have fire doesn't mean I can't do anything!"

"I'm not saying you can't, but you need to be more careful! Please, you-"

"But I also wanted to impress you..."

"You... you what?"

"I didn't think it'd be likely considering how different we are..."

"No. You're wrong. Because... I love you too."

The two SkyWings smiled and giggled at each other as they walked into the castle together, the sun setting behind them.

"Told you they'd get together!" said Cranberry, smirking at the other two SkyWings, who were hiding.

"Shush! You're such a know it all!" said the dark red SkyWing, named Robin.

Cranberry laughed. "I guess I am. Now let's scramble before Dawnbreaker sees us!"
