How to Keep a Workaholic in Your Bedroom [Paper x OJ]

Not a requested story.

Plot: Paper overworks himself and OJ is tired of pretending it isn't happening, so he decides to deal with it in the most comfortable way possible.

TW: Slightly sexual references included throughout the story.

Fluff (maybe slightly angst? idk)

Paper and OJ had to run a hotel almost entirely by themselves, which is obviously not easy for anyone to do, especially when the people running the hotel are easily damaged by simple things like rainstorms and sharp edges.

So usually, the two spend most of their working days dealing with the large amounts of paperwork and complaints, as most of the contestants were either easily breakable or easily angered.

It is not exactly breaking news that they worked a lot, usually working for upwards of 12 hours a day, much more than Knife, Pickle, Microphone, and Soap, who managed the rest of the hotel, worked as a total (each working for no more than 2.5 hours a day).

They usually worked quietly in their joint office / shared bedroom, usually speaking to each other to pass the time as they skimmed through the paperwork. The only audible noise from their bedroom would be some slight bed creaking at times.

Because of their incredibly reserved nature and the fact that when they did go outside they were almost always together, it was absolutely no shock or surprise to anyone except Salt that the two were dating and had been since early season 2.

To people like Knife and Pickle it was very obvious and pretty much destined, as everything about them was nearly indentical, from their hobbies, interests, dislikes, and their working schedule.

The only difference regarding their working is that OJ knows his limits and only breaks them when he absolutely has to, while Paper breaks them whenever he feels that it's needed, which is usually most of the time.

Even when OJ has told him it wasn't needed, he still did it just to make OJ's workload less, as he had singlehandly managed their relationship, the hotel, and competing in an object show within the span of a singular year.

It's really the only thing Paper and OJ argued about regarding their relationship, but usually Paper tries to distract OJ with "fancy loose clothing" to make him forget about it, as he worries that if he works less it'll make OJ work more.

OJ pretends it works because it not only tires Paper out, but it gets the job done at least for a night or two. Tonight, though, he simply just gave up on hiding it as it had gotten to a new low, that being Paper had slept for almost an entire day after working for nearly two days straight.

"Alright, I'm done with hiding it", OJ suddenly claimed as Paper tried to get up to work after his day long sleep. "Done with what?", Paper said, confused as to why OJ seemed so peeved particularly at him.

Suddenly, OJ grabbed Paper's right hand and lightly dragged him back to bed, using little force to secure him back into bed, as Paper usually went along with whatever OJ wanted to do or needed to do.

"May I ask why this is happening?", Paper asked quietly before yawning again, something that OJ had always found incredibly adorable and cute (him yawning, not asking why things were happening obviously).

OJ responded to his question, tightly packing him into the blankets, "Because you keep overworking yourself and you deserve to take a break". OJ then kissed him on his forehead as he walked over to the other side of the bed.

Paper felt a little bad about it, but he had only wanted to help OJ. It was selfless, too selfless, and deep down, Paper knew that, but he didn't exactly know how to stop himself. It was a weird weakness of his to be a complete people pleaser, especially to someone like OJ.

When Paper felt he had upset OJ, his guilt complex would kick in and he'd apologize more times than he could breathe. OJ, having known his best friend for almost a decade and a half, simply kissed him to shut him up.

"Don't feel too bad about it, just...rest, ok?", OJ said with a slightly worried tone in his voice hoping the message came across that "hey, this is stupid. I still love you obviously but please stop this, it's doing more harm than help".

Paper simply submitted as OJ climbed himself back into his side of their expensive and large king-sized bed. Paper had always taken the left as it was closer to their window and, by extension, their garden.

OJ knew the instant he fell asleep Paper could easily try to slip through the thick blankets and start working again, so he held him in an intense hug to prevent that. "Are you doing this so I-", Paper tried asking, only for OJ to interrupt him with, "Yep".

"But I just fell asleep for nearly a day!", Paper said. OJ responded with, "Well then I'll turn on the television and you can just watch whatever's on, I just want you to relax". Paper simply muttered a flustered, "ok", and leaned in as OJ found some random station to turn to.

"And don't try slipping through me, please", OJ said as he yawned and leaned himself on Paper's right shoulder. Paper mumbled an apology about everything that had happened before leaning himself into OJ's head.

Paper eventually fell asleep aswell, waking up to a breakfast in bed surprise from OJ, who had handed over their paperwork for the week to Knife and Pickle, who then gave it to Microphone as they were only able to handle a small amount of it.

And that's how OJ was able to have Paper agree to a more scheduled work day, finally giving them more peace and fun in their lives.
