Running back to me

My hands slammed the steering wheel of my BMW with a loud thud in a heavily irrate state.

'For heavens sake! This effing traffic doesn't even move!' I didn't sleep a peep last night. No surprise there, but I wasn't able to have my usual two hour rest either.

Glancing at myself through my rearview mirror, I saw my eyes were bloodshot and black rings were profoundly marked under my eyes. With a shrug, I looked away from the mirror, feeling the urge to curse at everyone from this blasted slow traffic.

As soon as I arrived the familiar large building, I said colorful words under my breath. Today, there was a reunion and I'm fifteen minutes late.

Great, just peachy!

Note the sarcasm there?

'Mr. Montgomery, as you asked and petitioned yesterday, I got you all of the Kimberly Johanssons I managed to find.' I grabbed harshly the thick sheets of paper and ran a hand through my smooth, jet black hair frustrated from her small, fragile hands.

'Narrow down the list.' I commanded in a flat tone. 'Are there any pictures of them? I said anything you could get from the web Stacey. Did I make myself somehow unclear?' Stacey twitched her nose thinking, unfazed to my words.

'I'll narrow down the list Mr. Montgomery. I will let you know once I'm done.'

'Okay, up to it. I want it for today, am I once again clear? And did you get the display I sent you to do last Monday?' I said bitten with poison.

'Yes, and you made yourself clear.' Stacey said flatly, looking at my eyes blankly.

'Perfect then. Shall we go?' She nodded and we both emerged to the big office with all eyes hooked on us.

'Pardon for my tardyness and the demore. You all know how the traffic at New York gets.' I lightly joked putting my charm on. All their grim lines on their lips turned into a smile, knowingly. 'Now, let's get started. I'd like to start off with my presentation, questions at the end.'

'Here,' Stacey gave me some papers now looking very thin. See? This is the reason I have her here.

'I gathered pictures of them all along with their bio through, fortunately, their social pages. Hope you do not mind where I got the information?' When I did not respond, she kept on. 'So far, only one had no social page, but she did indeed have one that was apparently not in use, with her name. Although, I highly doubt she'd be the one you're seeking for'.

I slowly nodded and took from her hands the pictures, rolling my eyes while giving her the papers. I don't need these papers, just pictures and I'll know.

All the Kimberlys' were pretty, but only one stood out from all of them in my eyes.

Her bright and easy smile lit up her earthy green eyes framed in her heat-shaped face. Her hair has grown a few more inches, visibly reaching now lower from her waist. And that chestnut hair still had the same slight waves.

All my employees have already vanished by now to their usual doings at the building, while Stacey slowly stood up from her chair, giving me a nod as she walked over to me, giving me the previous information. To tell you the truth, the reunion was succesful but dull and elusive of life. My employees seem as if they don't even have a saying or opinion of their own, but at least they do their work as they're told to.

Once I walked almost running to my office and locked up the door for privacy, jotting quickly Kims' digits, thankful she pinned her number down in Facebook. Also, bingo! Stacey said she had an ad for a job which fit perfectly with my plan.

'Hello?' A soft voice spoke.

'Is this Miss Johansson?' I said with anticipation.

'Yes?'

'Good afternoon Miss Johansson, the one speaking to you is the owner and all of my highly succeeded company. I've seen your ad in search for a job on internet, so I'll be sure to pass you down to Stacey, she'll give you the adress to come here this Friday.'

As you can see, I'm not used to take no for an answer. To be honest, I can't recall ever when someone has said no to me after my change-up in person. Why? Besides of my smooth talk, I'm very grateful indeed to my courses at marketing.

I passed the phone to Stacey and commanded she instructed Kimberly exactly what to do.

There's only one thing I want and will get: avenge Kimberly for what she caused on my past. She will pay for all the inner damage scarred by her own vile words and actions back when I was a fool, an idiot, somene who was so naive to reality. Things will change now; again I'll be in control. I'll get a grip on what has been stuck with me like a suitcase too heavy, too much the weight to carry.

Friday

Stacey knocked three times indicating she was coming in. After I unlocked the door, she informed me that Kimberly has arrived.

'Bring her in then.' I said not looking at her in the eyes.

But before she left, I called her again.

'Yes?' She inquired.

'I want no interrumptions. The only exception would be for some emergency, like the building is on fire, got it Stacey?' I said narrowing my eyes. She just raised an eyebrow and nodded with not a grin in those nude lips of hers.

As soon as Kimberly entered my office, my eyes wandered around all of her. Youth is still resembled and well kept in her beautiful face and soft curves.

The only difference would be that her appearance now, is of a woman. After all, she was barely 17 when that incident ocurred. She glanced around my office, searching for me, while I kept standing by my window watching her confused. When her green orbs caught mine, an audible gasp was heard and she turned pale as a chalk as if she saw a ghost. I probably am to her.

'Josh?'
