Ryder washed upon shore and he noticed a knife, so he picked it up and climbed back to his feet. His pup-pad was destroyed, so he had no way of communicating with Pvt. Brian or the pups.

He started to walk around and noticed the boat that Macavich was driving. He walked over to it and saw Macavich down on one knee, coughing. "Kid, I never thought this would happen. I now realize that what I did was wrong. I'm sorry. I know that you won't forgive me, so if you have to kill me, then I won't stop you." said Macavich as he waited for Ryder to put that knife in his neck.

Ryder bowed his head, but then realized that it had to be done. He raised his arm and was about to kill Macavich, but it didn't happen. Macavich grabbed his arm, stopping the act and then back-handed Ryder, sending him down.

Macavich took the knife and then stabbed Ryder in his right leg, causing him to not be able to go anywhere. The boy screamed in pain, but was then kicked in the face by Macavich.

"Did you really think that I would let you kill me?! You really thought that I would just let you end my life?! Just like that?!! Wow, kids really are brainless." said Macavich. "Why are you doing this?" said Ryder. "When I lost my men in New York, no one did anything. They just watched. They just stared and did nothing to help. So, I now realized that why help out in the world, if no one cares. I'm sorry, but I know you understand." said Macavich as he aimed his revolver at Ryder.

Pvt. Brian then charged at Macavich and tackled him, causing the revolver to fly out of the general's hand. "I'm not letting you do this!" said Pvt. Brian as he punched Macavich in the face, causing him to go down. Pvt. Brian then continued to beat down on Macavich, but he was then kicked in the face by the general and then he started to beat down on Pvt. Brian.

Ryder then realized that he had a chance, he started to pull the knife out of his leg. He winced in pain the entire time, but he was able to get the knife out. He turned to see Macavich continue to beat down on Pvt. Brian.

Ryder threw the knife and Macavich looked up and realized that it was over. The knife went into Macavich's left eye, causing him to fall over. Ryder breathed a sigh of relief and saw the pups running over to him. "Ryder! Are you okay?" said Rocky. "Yeah, I'm okay. It's over. Macavich is gone." said Ryder.

Pvt. Brian got up and noticed that his former general was dead. He ran over to Ryder and the pups and helped Ryder up. "Come on, let's get you home." said Pvt. Brian.
