Skye's POV:

I didn't know what to do as the shark headed straight towards me.

"C'mon, think Skye! Time is running out!" I desperately thought to myself, my lungs now beginning to ache from a lack of oxygen. But, try as I might and do as I may, nothing came to me. I started to think I was a goner, but, suddenly, out of blue, I spotted a giant red and black cargo ship off in the distance, maybe about 40 feet away. Then, luckily, an idea then came to my mind, and my face lit up with excitement. "But, will it work though?" I said with apprehension beginning to fog my thoughts. However, I suddenly felt a burning sensation in my lungs, and the pain immediately snapped me out of my thoughts. As I quickly scrambled for an answer in my brain, I realized that I had got so caught up in my thoughts that my involuntary breathing rhythm took over again, and I immediately inhaled the salty sea water into my lungs, causing them to burn with pain.

I began to hold my breath, followed by blood rushing towards my face, turning the skin underneath my fur a light red, and the fur on top a slight pinkish color. I quickly swam to the surface, using all the strength I had. And I didn't even stop, nor even slightly slow my speed until finally, after what felt like forever, I saw the light above the waters. I swam even faster, finally surfacing after a few seconds. I immediately starting choking thereafter, coughing and sputtering up water as I did so.

But, I had once again got so caught up in what I was doing that I forgot about the impending danger right below me! And, I had just so happened to look down at that moment, only to see the shark approaching rapidly towards me, its mouth wide open and ready for its lunch. And, strangely enough, I was the only thing around at the time. Which meant I was on the menu!

I panicked as I saw the shark approached just inches away from me, and I then just started paddling as fast as could, coughing up the last of the seawater as I did. But my lungs still continued to burn and my heart continuing to race. Luckily, the shark missed me as it jumped up and out the water briefly in an attempt to catch its "prey". Plus, this also allowed me to gain some distance from it while it was suspended in the air. But as soon as it fell back into the water, my luck began to run out again as it quickly repositioned itself back towards my position. With the tiger shark now just barely skimming the surface of the water, and its fin protruding menacingly from the water, I knew it wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon. So, realizing that it was regaining its lost ground on me fast, I knew that know would be a perfect time to put my plan into action. "And, if that accursed shark gets too close while I execute my plan, I'll be sure to shake it off my tail with some tricky maneuvers," I thought to myself. And, luckily, I had learned how to do specifically that in my PAW Patrol training course.

"C'mon training, don't fail me now!" I thought to myself as I put the plan into motion. Alright, so, my objective is to get to that giant black and red cargo. Then, swim towards the propeller blades, making sure to lead the shark there as well. All while avoiding getting eaten. Gggrrreeeaaatttt!" I thought to myself sarcastically.

"Well, here goes nothing!" I thought as I took a breath as deep as I could, and then once again dove down back into the blue, murky waters below. I swam quickly towards the giant ship, its black and red colors coming into view, with the shark quickly gaining on me. I then began to descend towards the level of the propellers as I got closer and closer to the cargo ship. Then, once I approached just within feet of the left propeller and suction field, the shark just feet behind me, I took a sudden, sharp plunge downwards, causing the shark to swim directly into the suction field of the propeller. I saw it desperately try to escape the grip of the propeller, but once it realized it was unable to, it simply accepted its fate and allowed itself to be taken by the suction.

A  dark red color began to gradually overtake the ocean's original blue hue as the remnants of the shark slowly sunk to the ocean floor, far below and out of sight. I began to feel queasy as I watched the water become red around me, and I thought that mayhaps this was a little too much for my stomach to handle at once. Though, I was just glad it was finally over. Or so I thought.

I realized that I now had much bigger problems on my paws than puking as I felt myself being pulled in by the propeller, as they had unexpectedly and immediately increased their spin rate, doubling their suction field and suction power. I tried as hard as I could to swim away, but its suction was just too strong for me and my little paws to try and overpower. I then tried swimming parallel from it, but after a few seconds, I realized that that was useless, too.

"No. This can't be the end. I mean, I know I didn't do all of that hard work for nothing?!" I thought to myself desperately. But, as the realization of what was about to happen began to set in, I just gave up and closed my eyes, as I realized that would be the easiest path to take, and then I just waited for the worst.....

"AAAHHHH!!!" I screamed as I forced my eyes open again, only to see I was now back on the beach again.

The sky still gray and gloomy, and the waves still crashing violently against the beach. The rain was falling even harder than I remembered from the last time I was on this beach. I Iooked up, only to see a small Western Highland Terrier pup standing over me. His fur was a banana-yellow color, with the exception of his underside, which was a creamy white color. He also had a white stripe going right down the middle of his face. His left eye was completely a deep, light gray color, along with some white, and I assumed he was blind on that side. His tail was thick and bushy, but it was short and completely white at the end-half of it. He was looking at me, staring t me intently, but with a huge smile on his face. His fangs were showing intimidatingly, and they were quite long too, especially for a pup of his size.

I immediately jerked myself up and off my back, backing away from him slowly, all while being confused and now a bit scared.

"Wh-Wh-Who are y-you?" I asked shakily, trying to settle my nerves in the process.

"Why, my name is Slasher," he said, baring his fangs intimidatingly, but this time, on purpose, unintentionally smiling deviously all the while.

"Ummm, ok, so, I'm sorry, but umm...... did you just said your name was Slasher?" I questioned, my heart beginning to race again, with thoughts from our previous "encounter" began to flood my mind.

"Ummm..... yes, I did, actually. Slasher Suda, actually. And I believe your name is Skye..... The aerial pup from the..... PAW Patrol, correct?" he asked, no longer smiling. I think that he had finally realized that he smile was bothering me, but I don't think he realized that the fact that his name was Slasher was the thing that was freaking me out about him. I wasn't even sure how he even knew my name, much less who I was, and I wasn't sure I wanted to stick any longer to find out.

"Ah yes, well, um, it's been a pleasure meeting you, but um......" I said, trying to quickly think of an excuse. "Well, you know, it's raining, and my fur is soaking wet, and I gotta get home to my family, as I'm sure they're out looking for me, missing me very much right now," I said, feeling quite satisfied with my reply, as not only was it an excuse, but it also the truth.

"Especially Chase," I mumbled dreamily as I began thinking about him and how much I miss him. "What was that?" Slasher asked. "Umm, nothing!" I quickly responded.

"Ok, well, I guess you gonna be off on your way now, looking for your family," he said sadly, almost as if he didn't want me to go. "Yep," I began, "sounds like a plan to me!" I said, turning around and beginning to march in the direction of what looked like a slope that would lead me back to the top of the mountain. "If I can get to the top of the mountain," I thought, "then maybe I can get a better view and a sense of where I am.

"However," continued Slasher, interrupting my thoughts, "while you can continue to go on and look for them, I'm almost positive you won't find them," Slasher said, smirking at the end of his sentence.

"And how do you know THAT?!" I said, getting slightly offended by his tone, and the fact that he even had the courage and boldness to say it.

"Because I know they're not even looking for you," he said, that smirk remaining on his face.

"AND HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?!?!" I said, almost engulfed with rage now. "He has no right to sit here and so much as even begin to disrespect my family like that, much less even think about doing so!" I thought to myself

"Ok, listen here SLASHER," I said, mockingly emphasizing his name, "I don't know who you think you are, but you don't even know anything about my friends or family, much less have ANY right to even begin to disrespect them and how they love and cherish me!"

I had begun to yell as I spoke now, and the rain was now falling even harder as the sky continued to darken. "And as a matter of fact, now that I think about it, I realized that I don't have to take this from some random pup! And I'm not going to, either!" I said firmly. I then turned around and began running as fast as I can, trying initially only to get out of eyesight. But, the more I thought about what he said, the more I realized how he could've been right. And pretty soon, a new thought popped into my head. And I realized it was the only thing I truly cared about at that moment. And that thing was finding Chase.

**********

Chase's POV:

"Skye? SKYE?!" I called out, walking along a beach. "I could've sworn I saw her, but maybe it was just an illusion, as I know my mind hasn't necessarily been the most reliable since I woke up a while ago and found myself washed up on this beach, but still... I'm almost positive I heard her voice from this direction....." I debated to myself, trotting along the beach in deep thought. But, all of a sudden, I smelled what smelled like her scent hit my nose hard as the wind began to blow.

"And now I'm beginning to smell her! So, I know she was here! And she definitely went this way!" I said excitedly, beginning to pick up my pace as I followed the scent trail.

The smell had gradually, over seconds, led me right next to the walls of the mountain. So, I made sure to use caution whenever I turned a corner.

And, while my mind's on it, that's one thing I just love about my nose. Even if everything else failed me, it would still continue to work perfectly.

But, as I continued walking, the wall began to curve towards the right, so now I had to be extra careful something wasn't waiting for me on the other side. And, as the scent continued to trail, I followed it, not giving my directions second thought. But, as I turn along the wall, I at once spotted a figure off in the distance.

"Hmmm.... the rain must be playing games with me." I thought to myself, now noticing that it was raining particularly hard right now. But, as I made my way even further along the curved wall, the figure began to turn into the silhouette of a small pup, causing me to come to an instant halt. Then, began walking again, but this time at a much slower rate. "Oh no," I said, now worried, as I thought I might know whose shadow that was, "don't tell me that's who I think it is." I mumbled to myself.

"Oh, but that's where you're wrong," I heard a voice whisper in my right ear, cause me to in an instant jump a bit, taken off-guard by it. But, before I had time to even turn around, I felt something rapidly envelop me, sending me flying high up into the air and towards my left, and I then felt the wind blowing through my fur briefly right before cold water encased me with its great power. My vision was also blurred by the water, but I just assumed that as the water was stinging my eyes, I realized I had someone been shot all the way into the salty ocean. Or, at least what I assumed was an ocean.

I began to struggle, trying to resurface as I ran out of breath quickly, but it didn't work. However, as I was at least in that moment able to make out that I'm caught in some sort of strong netting, and it was somehow it was deeply staked into the sand below me. I figured out that I was also on a shoreline, due to the now constantly churning and violent waves that felt like a blow in the face as they continued to come over me time after time again. The water had then figured out how to manage and force its way down my nose, and into my lungs, slowly filling them with water, despite my efforts to prevent this. I began to choke as I struggled to cough all the water out of my lungs and get some fresh air into them as a trade-off, but I quickly figured out that this was a hopeless effort, especially as long as the waves continued their quick, violent assaults against the beach..... and me.

"Ha! This was so much easier than I thought it would be....." I heard the voice say as my vision began to become dark and then transformed an inky blackness.....

"NOOOOO!!!" I said as I jerked my eyes open once again, only to see that everything was now entirely pitch black around, including me myself. All but for the exception of one dim, incandescent lightbulb that I saw hanging in the air, a few feet away from me, presumably from a ceiling of some sort, and it emitted an orange, warm glow as it was powered and lit.

I then felt something warm move against me, causing me to immediately exclaim in fear and move back quickly, my paws scratching what sounded like plastic as I did so. But then, I felt my back hit something hard, almost what felt like wire bars. And after that, it didn't take long to realize I was in a cage, and that I was stuck in here with that thing.

"No, NO! Stay away from me you-" the voice had started to say before it was cut off by its own coughing. But, I knew precisely who the owned that voice as soon as the sound hit my ears. It was Skye!

"Wait," I began to say out loud, now noticing her terrible appearance and attitude, but continuing on anyway. "If you're really Skye....." I said a bit skeptically, "then what's the name of my favorite childhood toy?"

"Of-Of-" she said before being interrupted by another brief coughing fit. "Officer Bear," Skye said, her voice extremely hoarse.

"Hhhhh! Skye! It is you!" I said, running up to her, but then stopping once I fully began to look at her current condition. The fur on the lower half of her body was completely black and entirely covered in soot. Large patches of fur were also missing, I noticed. And, her eyes were bloodshot red. She was also coughing up soot, and lots of it.

"Uhhhh, Skye? What happened to you?!?!" I asked, trying to figure out how she got in such a horrible state.

"Y-Y-You d-did, Chase." she said softly, looking up me with a bit of anger in her eyes. "Oh come on, Skye. You know I would never do that to you!" I said softly in a happy tone, thinking she was just joking with me. But, once I looked down at her again, only to see that she now had tears in her eyes and was looking down at the floor, I figured out she wasn't.  We sat in silence for a while before she finally broke the silence.

"I used to be able to believe that. To believe you. To trust you. T-To l-love you-" she had said, right before beginning another coughing fit again. But this time, there was nothing short lived about it, and she ended up collapsing towards the end of it, slowly blinking before closing his eyes.

"Sk-Skye?" I said softly, gently shaking her.

But I got no reply. And when I put my head to her chest to see if I could hear her heartbeat, I realized that there was barely any left. Her heart was beating at the speed of a slug, and I knew what was wrong then. She was slowly being killed..... from soot poisoning. And I knew that if he didn't get help soon, that would be the end of his life story.

"Skye...." I said quietly, a tear falling from my eye onto her soot-coated fur.

Suddenly, however, a heard a cackle behind me, causing me to jump and hit my head against the top of the cage. I instantly got up and turned to face whatever was behind me, only to see who it was. "You." I said angrily, yet softly, staring at him coldly with hate in my eyes.

But he only continued to stare back at me, looking and smiling deviously. However, looking past him, I saw something moving in the darkness.....

But, as it began to move out of the shadows and into the dim light, I saw it for what it truly was, And there was nothing in the world that could prepare me to witness what stood in front of me now.

"Is that... ME?!" I screamed in horror with my mind buzzing vigorously with my many thoughts.

"The one and only of course!" it said in my voice.

And Slasher only sat there and grinned the whole time. "Does that answer your question?" he said in a happy, evil tone. Then, I began to feel an abundance of heat beginning to surround me, causing me to pant. And it was coming from behind me. But as I looked behind me, I saw that Skye was now gone, and the only thing that remained in the cage with me was a pile of hot, melted plastic and electronic components.

"Woah, Woah, WOAH! Hold ON! You mean to tell me you created a copy of me? And that was a fake Skye? But..... why? Why even do all of this ?!?!" I screamed at Slasher angrily. Though, I was also secretly relieved to see that Skye wasn't hurt or in danger of death.

"Well, the answer to that is actually quite simple! And who better than you yourself to explain it!" Chase 2.0, if you would?" said Slasher.

"Why, certainly, master!" The clone said, still sounding perfectly like me. As much as I didn't like it, I had to admit, it was an amazing clone attempt. "You see, Chase, it all started when you hurt my master here a long time ago, back when you guys were just puppies. You guys were the best of friends as little pups, and one day, when master's parents died, you convinced your parents to adopt him because you liked him that much. And it meant the world to him. And together, you guys had the best of times together!" Chase 2.0 said cheerfully, looking down at the ground with a weak smile on its face as it continued to talk.

"But," it continued, its voice beginning to become engulfed in rage, "as you guys continued to grow, you began to change. You, Chase, became one of the best pups around. You helped everyone and loved doing it, you became your parent's favorite pup, and everyone even knew and loved you. Leaving no room for master even once get the spotlight anymore. And as the years flew by, people paid him less and less attention every day. He had become your shadow. Your lesser than. Your wanna-be. Yet, all master wanted to do was to be recognized."

"So, one day, when you guys received news that your parents were both mysteriously killed, you and master both began wandered the streets, looking for a new place to call home. And sure enough, someone found you," it said, looking at me angrily as it said this before continuing on with the story once more, "but no one found master, leaving him all alone, left with nothing else to do but wander the streets aimlessly and possibly forever, hoping that someone would find him. But they didn't. But that all changed one day, when he met this beautiful, female Cockapoo pup. And she just so happened to be homeless too. And when he went up and asked her what her name was, she told him it was Skye."

"And together, they roamed the streets, gaining a deep attraction for each other as weeks passed on. But, on the day he was planning to finally work up the courage to tell her his true feelings for her, the leader of the PAW Patrol had found her, and he had offered her a job of the aerial pup, seeing as she was the only pup that he could find that had the passion to fly and the determination to get the job done. And, of course, she couldn't resist to saying no, as she had always said it was her dream to soar through the skies and help others so they wouldn't have to go through what she and master did. And, not long after, word of her initiation and her then official position in the PAW Patrol got out that same week. But, so did word of you even having a crush on her. And the hurt that master had got once he received news of this turned into hatred over the weeks."

Then, one month later, as master was roaming the streets of Adventure Bay, looking for food, he saw a diamond heist in progress. And he thought that that could be his big break. He thought could stop the robbery. That he could become a hero. And that he could finally stop living in the shadows. And then, everyone would finally notice him."

But, he ended up being framed as he stealthily retrieved the diamond from the thieves and tried to return it. And then he was arrested on the spot for countless charges he didn't commit, and worse of all, by of all people, you. Yet he tried to reason with you. He tried to tell you that he didn't do it. But you didn't believe him. And he was charged with 7 years in prison."

And once he finally got out, every chance and every bit of hope he may have had for a better life was all gone. To everyone else, he was now just some low-down dirtbag that couldn't be trusted. Then, he found out that you loved Skye. And that she loved you back. And that you even began dating. And that's when his hatred turned into a strong desire for his own avenging. All for ruining his life. For runing his reputation. And for even his self-esteem." finished Chase 2.0, staring at me coldly as he did.

"And now," began Slasher, "I'm gonna to destroy your life, just like you destroyed mine! ANd who better to start with than the one you love the most, or would do anything for, and the one that even gives your life meaning!" he said, laughing maniacally.

"Hhhhhh! NOOOOO! Leave her out of this!!!" I screamed in complete terror.

"Oh fine. I guess I will." he then suddenly said, sounding disappointed.

"Oh really?" I questioned. "Well now, that seemed easier than I-"

"NOT!!!" Slasher interrupted, laughing deviously again. If only you had left her out of your life! Then, maybe, just maybe, I could try and forgive you. But any chance of that happening now..... well, is gone." Slasher said coldly. "And oh look. Skye's still wandering through the forest right now, still trying to get to the top of the mountain! And to think that it's the perfect, isolated place for my plan, too!" he said, looking upon some monitors that suddenly lifted from the floor.

"What perfect timing! Now, Chase 2.0, you know what to do!"

He then bolt-locked the cage shut, leaving me with a sense of utter hopelessness, as I could do nothing but just sit and watch miserably as the clone set out to find Skye.

Skye's POV:

"Ok, so" I began, "I'm already halfway back up the mountain. Come on, Skye, you can do this! Don't let fatigue get the best of you!" I said as encouragement to myself as continued my climb towards the top, which would hopefully be able to give me the view I need to find my way back home. Tall pine trees blocked the sky and rain from accessing me or my view far above my head, and I continued walking along until I heard a twig snap behind me.

I stopped walking and then began slowly turning my head towards whatever was behind me. But all I saw was a big bush. "H-Hello? I-Is anyone t-there?" I stuttered, afraid that it might have been a bear. "Everest did always say there were wild bears on the mountains." I thought to myself.

"Skye?" I heard a familiar voice say. The owner of the voice then stepped out of the bushes, revealing none other than Chase himself!

"Hhhhh! Chase! You found me!" I squealed, running towards him, hugging him. "Please Chase, no matter what, don't you ever leave me like that again!" I said happily, tears of joy coming from my eyes.

"Oh, don't worry. I won't." he said happily. He then began playfully wrestling with me, flipping me over on my back. "Chase," I giggled, "what are you doing, silly?"

"This," he said, his voice now changing to a more devious, yet happy, tone. He then quickly pinned me down to the ground below, and I was unable to move. "Uhhh, Chase? I c-can't move. Heh heh." I said, beginning to become quite nervous. But that's when I saw that he was fully aroused, and I then knew exactly what he was about to do.

"NO! No, no, no, no, NOOOO! NOT THAT!!!" I now screamed, trying to break free of his grip, but it was no use, as I knew he was much stronger than me.

"Oh come on, Skye. We both know we want this." he said slyly, right before shoving himself into me as hard as he could.

I instantly let out a bloodcurdling scream following his penetration, and as he started thrusting, my screams also started becoming louder, especially the longer he continued. Tears began to race down my fur as I began to break down, crying profusely.

"P-P-PLEASE CHASE! IT... IT HURTS!!!" I screamed, tears continuing to stream from my eyes, staining my fur. But it was as if he didn't hear me as just sat there he continued his actions, grunting and moaning with pleasure. I then felt myself reaching my breaking point, and as I could bear no more, I gathered all my strength and bit him as hard as I could on his front right leg. "OWWWW!!!!" he screamed in pain, pulling out at once as he hopped back away from me. And I knew this would be my only chance to escape.

So, I quickly seized the opportunity and stood up, but fell back down due to the immense pain in my abdomen. But I knew it was only bound to get worse if I stayed. So, working through the pain, I got up again and began limping as fast as I could away from Chase, easily escaping from his sight as he continued to deal with the pain in his leg. But, not long after, I soon looked behind me, only to see him now just a few feet away from me as I continued speed-limping. But, then, he lunged for me, tackling me down a tall hill, making me trip and skid onto the wet ground below, landing right onto my back. I knew I was really screwed now.

"Ummm...... it was just a joke? Heh heh?" I said nervously as I saw his eyes, full of rage and pain. He said nothing and looked at me coldly for a few seconds. Then he bit as hard as he could on my front leg, causing me to scream in pain as well. "That'll teach you for running off before I am through with you!" he said angrily. He then shoved himself back in again, but this time he did so much harder than ever before.

I then began screaming again, but this time to the top of my lungs as he resumed his thrusting. Not too long after, however, I cringed as I felt a sickening warmth fill my insides, his knot swelling inside me. However, as soon as it reached its full size and attached itself in me, he then swiftly yanked it out as hard as possible. I then let out another bloodcurdling scream that echoed throughout the entire forest.

Drops of blood dripped to the ground as he pulled out, and then before kicked me violently towards the side of the hill we had just both fell from. He then began walking away, leaving me in the clearing, all alone and in excruciating pain. And I was in so much pain that I couldn't really even move. So I just laid there against the hill, crying loudly.

"WHY, CHASE?! WWWHHHYYY?!?!?!" I sobbed, over and over. And all while the pain itself was making its permanent scars, both physically, mentally, and emotionally.
