Eye Of The Storm

Rocky's POV:

"Woah. What hap-p-pend?" I stuttered as I came to, observing my current surroundings.

"Wait a minute," I said, "Where exactly am I? Where are all the others? And how do I get out of this dark, scary place?!" I said aloud, beginning to panic, realizing that I was surrounded by huge pieces of beams and rubble, which presumably were blocking any and all sunlight from entering the bottom, where I was. This left me all alone, and stranded in the dark. But what all this debris was from, I have no idea. But I do know that it had put me in a position where my legs were all spread away from my body, and that this, along with the rubble above my head, rendered me unable to move from my current position. "R-Rubble! Katie! Zuma! Anybody? I'm stuck! I need some help!" I yelled, hoping for someone to her and reply to my calls for help. But no one did.

"Ok Rocky, you can do this. Let's just calm down, and take a deep breath in," I said, inhaling deeply, "and out." I finished, exhaling strongly. "Ok, now, I just gotta break free from all this rubble. Now I have that established. But the question is..... how?" I said, pondering on this. Then, however, I realized I had my pup pack on, and that gave me an idea.

"Arf! Claw!" I barked as loud as I could, hoping it hadn't been crushed by all of the debris. And, to my amazement, it actually worked, both the plan and the claw, as the claw immediately extended, and it also began to lift up the pile, just enough for me to stand up. Then, once I stood up, I gathered all my strength and bent down slightly, the debris moving down with my motion weighing me down a bit more. "No matter," I thought to myself, "I'll just have to put in a little energy to pull this off. Besides, it's a worthy cause right?"

Then, like a frog, I jumped as high and as hard as I could, successfully lifting the debris off me and allowing sunlight to penetrate my pupils once more, causing them to also immediately dilate themselves. "Yes! I'm free! I'M FREE!" I said, beginning to do a happy dance. "I did it, oh yeah I did it!" I sang. "Arf! Claw, away!" I barked, the mechanical arm folding away back into the depths of my pup pack upon hearing my voice command. But, as I started observing my surroundings once more, my celebrating came to an end. The feelings of utter horror and remorse came to me, and they began to hit me hard

All around, and everywhere I looked, all saw was destruction. Not one building, nor person, was standing, and I'm not sure they would want to be standing and actually have to look at the horror all around me. Then, I remembered. "Hhhh! The storm! It did all of this? To my home? Or, at least what was my home?! No! It can't be!" I said, beginning to cry. I then looked up as a tear rolled down my fur, however, only to see a clear sky overhead. "Well, at least the storm is o-over," I stuttered, trying to think positive. But, a dreaded sound hit my ears. A sound I knew all too well before we were all torn apart. And what I had heard, was thunder. And, when I looked off in the distance, I saw a dark wall of storms slowly all revolving in a giant circle overhead. coming. Then a dreaded realization hit me. "I'm in the eye of the storm," I said to myself.

Skye's POV:

"Ow. Ow. Ouch. YE-OUCH!" I said in an exasperated voice, especially flinching that last jab of pain as I slowly trudged on, limping profusely. I knew that no one was coming for me, so I had no other choice but to continue on my objective to reach the top of the mountain. And, despite the extreme pain in my abdomen, I was still making pretty good progress. Except when I had to stop because the pain would get so intense. But, I was almost there, and just as I was about look over the peak of the mountain, I got a sting of pain surging through me once more, and this caused me to collapse in pain, briefly howling in distress.

Then, I felt a wet spot underneath me, and I knew exactly why, but I was in too much pain to get up and move.

"UUGGGHH!!! I... HATE CHASE SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!!! AND SO HELP ME IF I SEE HIM AGAIN I WILL......" I screamed, but stopped mid-sentence, as I felt all the vivid, painful memories surge back to me. Then, I couldn't help but to just start sobbing uncontrollably. "Whyyyy, Chase? WHYYY?!?! WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS?!" I sobbed. "What am I gonna tell Ryder? The others? What am I even going to do for 9 months? JUST SIT AROUND WAITING FOR LABOR?!" I screamed, still crying, but now with a tone of anger towards the end of my sentence. "I'm just so confused," I said to my silently, picking myself up, my crying had subsided.

"I guess I just need to worry about getting home," I said, knowing in my mind that this was going to be one long, painful journey.

Everest's POV:

"Let us go you..... you....... ARGGHH! I'm so angry I can't even think of the right words right now!" I said in a fit of rage, struggling to break free from the ropes that I and everyone else are tied in. "Like why? I just wanna know. Could you please just tell us why are you doing this to us? WHy you are doing this to me?! I don't even know what's going on! I just simply came to check up on the others after that horrible twister! So what do you want from us?!"

"Well, first of all, you ARE an accomplice, and I feel that's reason enough! And, what I want.....", said Sweetie, pacing slowly in front us and the Lookout doors, "is Skye! Now..... where IS SHE?!" she said, yelling towards the end of her sentence.

Everyone stayed quiet, and I started getting worried about what she may do to us if we remained that way much longer. Though, I could also see that I was clearly not the only that was worried, as everyone else was looking was exchanging looks with each other, worried looks also painted on their faces as well.

"So, no one wants to talk, eh?" Sweetie said, stopping her pacing directly in front of us and turning to face us, her head drooping towards the floor and her eyes closed. Then, she looked up at all of us tied up in this dreaded circle, and she reopened her eyes, and we thought she was about to start yelling at us, but instead, she spoke in a normal tone. However, it didn't make us denounce the threat of her words one bit, as we knew at this point that no matter what tone she spoke in, she was still capable of the demonic things she spoke of.

"Well then, lemme tell you how we're gonna play this. We can do this one of two ways. The easy way, or, the hard way. It's your choice. So, I'm gonna ask you this one last time- WHERE. IS. SKYE?!?! HUH?! SOMEONE BETTER SPEAK UP OR SO HELP ME-"

"I know where she is!" said Rubble. "Oh REALLY? And where is that, dog?" Sweetie said happily, yet skeptically. "Not here, that's for sure! So, now that you know, can you let us go now, please?" he said with a smile.

"Oh, ok, so we have a wise guy here, huh? Well, I have a special surprise for ALL of you guys in here! Since we're making jokes, I got an even better one to make! All of you males in here are about to get a vasectomy! Now, how funny is that? Cause I know I'll be having the time of my life laughing hearing your screams! Now that'll be hi-larious! And to think that's not even the hard way!"

"WAIT, WHAT?! A VASECTOMY?!?! PLEASE, NO! I'LL TALK! I'LL TELL YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT! JUST PLEASE, DON'T CUT OFF MY FUTURE CHILDREN!!!" screamed Marshall, surprising everyone except Sweetie, who appeared unamused.

"Let me guess, these children are going to be made with your quote on quote "future wife" Everest?" said Sweetie, sounding as if she were bored with this topic. I, however, upon hearing this immediately blushed, with the skin under my fur turning such a dark red that it was obvious that I was blushing, for the fur on my face was appearing to turn a dark purple.

"Wait.... M-Marshall likes me back? I-I mean likes me?" I said, blushing even harder at my slip-up. "B-But why? Why a big, old husky like me? You wouldn't want to spend the rest of your life with someone like me. There's just no way" I said, my head drooping. "Are you kidding?" he began. "Of course I do! You're everything I could ever want in a partner. Or, girlfriend, as marriage may be skipping a few stages." Marshall said with a nervous chuckle. Ah yes, that's one of the things I loved about Marshall. Even when things were bad, he (for the most part, at least) always seemed to be the happy one that always cheered up everyone.

"And, even though we can't see each other right now, you do realize that I'm almost just as old and big as you, right? Even though it may not necessarily be dead-on obvious from my physical appearance," he said with another chuckle. "But, I can totally understand if you don't like me like that. I can totally respect that as well........" said Marshall, his voice trailing off.

"Oh, Marshall. Of course I would love to have all those kinds of relationships with you! But let's just start as a couple, ok? Then we could progress from there." I said, giggling. "O-OK! I'll totally take that! Thank you, thank you, thank you so much, Everest! Thank you for making me the happiest pup in the world, now and forever! You won't regret it!" he said, more excitedly than usual. "I know I won't," I said, giggling some more.

"Erm, I mean, yea, that's cool. Heh heh," said Marshall, upon realizing that he was in a room where everyone else just heard him say that too.

"Oh, how touching. Just beautiful," said Sweetie. "Now, how about we crush Marshall's great attitude and his heart and his future and do him first? That'll be really fun! Or, even better, let's do it in front of Everest! Hhhhh, yes! That's an excellent idea! Let's do that! Then, we'll do Zuma and Rubble. Though, I wonder where Rocky got to?" she said, pausing in her excitement.

"Ah, why should I care enough to let him occupy space in my mind? Hopefully, he bit the dust. It's not like he was useful anyway. He was just like that damn cockapoo. A useless, mangy mutt-"

'BANG!'

Sweetie was then cut off by a pipe that had gone through her head, causing her to immediately drop to the floor, followed by a loud scream from Marshall.

Rocky's POV:

"Damn bitch, sitting here tryna call me a mutt," I muttered under my breath as I walked up to and through the doors of the Lookout with a little smirk on my face and a piece of wood I made into a toothpick hanging from the side of my mouth. I was bare, and without a uniform, getting soaked with the warm sun that continued to envelop a tiny portion of the sky as the eyewall neared the Lookout at a great rate. But, right now, at this moment, all that matters to me is that I rescue my friends and we all get the hell outta here before the eyewall gets us too! Of course, however, everyone gasped at hearing me say my previous statement, as I had never cursed before.

"No guys! She literally IS a bitch! Y'know?! A female dog?!"

"Oooohhhhhh!" everyone said in harmony.

"Oh, brother." I said.

"But, in all honesty, I did mean the curse word," I said slyly, a smirk on face.

I then noticed Zuma sitting there staring at Sweetie's remains, his mouth wide open in shock.

"W-W-WOCKY! Y-You just KILLED anothew pup! Have you NO soul, dude?!" said Zuma.

"Um, have you no sense?! She was trying to torture you guys and ruin your futures! Besides, that was actually an android. Why do you think no blood came out when I shot that metal pipe through "her" head? And look." I said, using my teeth to take out the pipe down of the android's head. I then held up the android for everyone on that side of the circle to see and showed them the hole I had made in its head.

"See? Just wires and circuit boards. Now," I said, dropping the android and walking up to the big knot underneath Zuma's head, "let's get you guys outta here." I then used my teeth, and after about 30 seconds, I finally got the knot undone. Everyone then gently wiggled themselves outta the ropes and all stood up and stretched, all looking at me with shock once they finished. Though, Everest was the first to break the silence.

"Ummm, what's going on?" asked Everest, looking both stunned and confused. "Look, I'll explain everything later. Right now, we need to move. NOW!" I said, hearing an alarm upstairs beginning to blare.

"But Rocky," said Katie, "where are we going? What can we even do?"

"Look, just follow me!" I said, looking past her legs and noticing the elevator moving downwards, presumably with a robot Sweetie on it instead of an android, as the android were much harder to make and were as such much rarer. Which was great, because the robots still had bugs, and they were nowhere near as clever as the androids.

The elevator had doors then opened, but it did not move. But, a machine gun did extend out of its back suddenly. Then it started spinning.

"Quick, let's all get outside! Now!" I said, panic in my voice. Everyone had frozen when they heard that faint noise from the spinning, and they had no hesitation whatsoever when I gave THAT order.

"Everyone, jump down and get into the garage!" I said, and everyone, including me, jumped the short jump and successfully landed in front of the garage, just as the gun had started firing above our heads. Everyone then quickly headed into the garage, and I quickly jumped up and clicked a big red button right next to the wheel track of the garage door. The garage quickly shut, and the lights automatically turned on. I then walked right up to Ryder's ATV, and when I turned around, everyone was staring at me, awaiting orders. "Now," I said. "everyone, get ready to be assigned with a weapon, an undercover watch or pup tag, and a set of instructions," I said, then giving my paws a rhythmic tap on the floor. Then, Ryder's ATV slid over to the right on a piece of the floor, leaving a gaping, black, rectangular hole in the floor for a second. But, a giant, thin, glass wall quickly slid up to fill its place. This particular glass wall wasn't just any ordinary wall, however, no. I was a special wall, a wall only I built and only me and Ryder knew about. And we built it for emergencies just like these. And this wall was drenched with weapons for days, all hanging on either side of it, alongside undercover watches and undercover pup tags.

"So, um...... what's all this stuff for?" said Marshall, not breaking his attentive stand looked on with curiosity, much like everyone else. "Well now Marshall, I'm actually glad you asked," I said, a huge smirk on my face.

"You see, this is all part of a plan I made. A plan to get our lives back. And with everyone's help, this plan can be put together and then into action! Starting with rescuing the inventor of all of these dreaded machines. Our owner and best friend, Ryder."

Note: Hey guys, sorry for posting so late. See, I got some new urBeats earbuds that I had finally saved up enough money to get, and when they came in today, I immediately used them for my next song I'm working on, and I got so caught up in that that I lost track of time and had to post late to finish proofreading and editing this chapter. So yeah. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
