Agathe's Rage
Katie's POV:
'BEEP!'
'BEEP!'
'BEEP!'
'SMACK!'
I weakly smacked the off button on my alarm clock on my bedside table and rolled over to the edge of my bed. I groggily sat up, smacking my lips and rubbing my eyes. I noticed the wind had picked up a considerably overnight, and both the rain and the winds were now lashing at my bedroom window. The sky now appeared even darker than they were last night, making my light gray-painted room appear even gloomier than usual.
"It's 6:30 AM?!" I said, yawning, reading my alarm clock. "Why did I set that alarm that early again?" I said sleepily to myself.
"Man," I thought, looking around "I really have to get my bedroom painted another color." I chuckled at this weakly before getting up and stretching. I then made my way towards my pink-colored bathroom.
I looked in the mirror, only to see I was wearing a pink shirt with Skye's face on the front of it, and my pants had the same pattern, but with multiple small faces of Skye all over them, with her face being surrounded by hearts. I proceeded to brush my teeth and wash my face at my sink.
I had remembered when Ryder gave me this pair of nightclothes, as he said he had thought it was a funny joke, seeing as he had some Chase-themed slippers. All the pups had seen both us with our clothes themed like Chase and Skye, but Chase and Skye were the only ones who didn't really get it until now.
I chuckled as I grabbed my toothbrush put some toothpaste on it, proceeding to brush my teeth. I remembered their expressions as if our joke was the most unobvious thing in the world.
"I don't get it, what are we supposed to be looking at here?" Chase said with Skye standing beside him. They both had a puzzled expression on their faces, and everyone laughed, except for them, as they tried to figure it out. Katie laughed again herself as she continued her flashback in her mind. But then, she sighed and looked down at the sink, my face taking on a sad expression. I grabbed a towel off the counter to dry my face, which I had just finished washing.
"I miss you, Ryder. And I'm sure the pups do, too. And I don't where you are, but I can promise you that we'll find you. Just you wait." I said to myself.
I then proceeded out of my bathroom and out of my room, and into a short, pink hallway. I then exited from an opening on the left at the end of the hallway, which led into the foyer at the front of the building. I walked past the room that Chase and Skye were in, only to see that they were still fast asleep, with Skye laying on Chase's side and Chase laying curved on the bed, his head laying flat down on the bed facing directly ahead. Skye smiled as she nuzzled deeper, and Chase smiled, too, when he felt her do this, too.
"Those two pups," I thought to myself, rolling my eyes and shaking my head "What am I gonna do with them?" I then walked over to the front desk, where I found Callie fast asleep, too, on the back counter of the oval desk.
"Silly kitty," I said, giggling as I pet her fur gently. Callie began purring as I stroked her fur. I afterward moved to the front side of my desk and pulled out some paperwork and utility bills for my building from underneath the counter, sitting neat and organized in a light blue binder.
"Well," I said quietly, "might as well get some work in before the rest of the pups wake up." I got a pen out of a blue penholder I had sitting on the edge of the counter for signing pets in and out of the salon and began filling out the paperwork and bills.
Chase's POV:
I had groggily woke up at 6:35 AM, and I had looked at my side, only to see Skye asleep, snuggling in my fur. But she was frowning, and an expression of struggle had overtaken her face. I gently slipped Skye's head off of my side as I stood up and stretched, my rear end sticking up in the air as I did so, making the bed creak a little.
I heard Skye groan, followed by her slowly sitting up on her haunches and rubbing the back of her head.
"Ugh," she said, a bit of pain in her voice. "C-Chase?" she said, noticing me standing up and stretching. "W-What are you doing here?" she asked, completely oblivious to what had happened yesterday afternoon.
"Well, I, uh.....just wanted to make sure you were... um...... ok... yesterday. Cause you were... behaving..... strangely yesterday. That's all. But, umm..... out of curiosity, how'd you sleep?"
"H-Horrible..... just... horrible. And, like, I know I look horrible, and I'm starting to have a horrible mindset, and I feel........" her voice trailed off as she stopped talking looked straight ahead and her tail began to wag happily. Her eyes widened and pupils became a bit bigger, and a smile had spread across her muzzle as she looked back at me.
"I feel..... I feel..... GREAT!" she said excitedly, jumping up and tackling me off the bed and onto the floor. A sharp pain went surging through my back as I hit the ground with a 'THUD!'. I was amazed that Skye had just pushed me off the bed as hard as she did, much less at all, but then again, she had caught me off-guard. I wasn't near as hurt as I was surprised. "OOuucchh," I moaned, "that's gonna be sore by tomorrow morning." I rolled over and stood back up, watching her excitedly jumping up and down in a circle in front of me.
"Come on, Chasey!" she said, running around in circles, "Let's do something fun!" she finished enthusiastically.
"Ch-Ch-Chasey?" I said, confusedly. She then stopped running around in circles and ran towards me and knocked me back hard against the back wall. "W-Well," I said hoarsely, "at least we're not on the side with the bedside table," I said hoarsely, trying to be positive. She jumped up on my chest and started licking me all over my face. "SSKKYYEE! QUIT IT!" I said, trying to push her off me with her my two front paws. It didn't work.
Then, Skye suddenly extended her sharp claws and dug them deep into my chest. "OWWWW!!!" I screamed. I could feel blood beginning to trickle through my fur, staining it a dark-red color. "Now, since I have your attention," she said in a now deep, dark voice. She then lifted one of her paws in the air in front of me, her claws extended. I put one leg over my face as if to shield myself from the pain I knew was about to come.
She started to bring them down, but she hesitated. "Ch-Chase....." she stuttered, putting a paw to her head, gripping it tightly. She closed her eyes, an expression of struggle forming on her face.
"N-No.... I... won't...... hurt him!" she said in her normal voice. "Oh, but I beg to reason, pup!" This body is MINE!" she said in a deep, dark tone. "N-NO! It's.... not! Ugh..... Just..... get out of my head! G-Get of my body! G-GET OUT OF ME!" she said in a normal voice again. "NEVER! YOU CAN'T GET RID OF ME! MWAHAHAHAHA!" she said in a deep, dark voice again. "C-Chaassee.... if you can h-hear me...... You need to leave.... NOW!" she said in her normal tone, opening her eyes and looking directly at me.
"No, Skye!" I said firmly. "I'm staying here to help you!" I finished.
"Well now," she said, her voice switching back to an evil tone. That was your first mistake." "Huh?" I said, confused.
Skye then lifted her left paw and scratched me as hard as she could across my face, starting from the left side. I yelped loudly, then bucked her hard off my chest. She missed my both my eyes, but she had got my eyelid on the left side of my face. My right eye and my right eyelid were ok, but the right side of my face was not. I shut my bleeding, left eyelid over my left eye and stood up to face her. She stood halfway from the wall on the other side of the room, as she had caught her grip on the ground with her claws before she had hit the wall.
"Look, Skye," I said, looking at her sternly, "I don't wanna fight you. And I know you're in there somewhere! You just have to fight it! Fight... whatever this thing is that has possessed you!" I yelled.
Skye then began struggling and grunting again as she temporarily regained control. "I..... I CAN'T!" she cried in her normal voice, taking me by surprise. But then her voice went deep and dark again as she spoke. She chuckled a bit before speaking again. "See? She's just a weak mutt. Just like the REST OF HER FAMILY!" SO WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU CAN BRING HER BACK?! FACE IT!! SHE'S GONE! AND SHE'S NOT COMING BAC-"
Skye was cut off as I ran up to her and tackled her, knocking her over on her back, kissing her as passionately as I could. At first, she didn't kiss back, but then her pupils retracted back to their normal size, and her eyes retracted back to their normal state as she began to kiss back.
"Ch-Chase?" she said, breaking her lips from mine after a minute, confused, but relieved, as if a huge weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. "Yes, Skye?" I said, a happy and warm expression on my face, my left eye still closed. "How did you do that?" she asked in a weak voice, trying to crack a smile at me.
"Do what?" I asked. "F-Free me from that.... that..... thing?" I asked. "It wasn't me. I think was our love. Or, our kiss, I should say. Though, I'm actually shocked that worked. I wasn't necessarily expecting it to." I said, chuckling as I said it.
Skye giggled at this, but I think she then realized the three long gashes across my face, all of which were bleeding. "Umm..... CHASE? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?!?! Please, don't tell me it was me!" she said, a few tears beginning to form in her eyes. "O-Okay then, I won't...." I said jokingly, chuckling a bit.
"CCHAASSEE!" she said, grabbing my cheeks with her two front paws and pulling my face towards hers. "Yeah?" I said, a smile still on my face. I had been trying to ease her nerves, but I didn't think it was working anymore. "What was I trying to do you?" she asked calmly, looking me directly my eyes. She knew that made me uncomfortable, especially when she was asking a question I didn't want to answer. "Well...." I chuckled.
"Chase!" she said in a firm voice, knowing I was trying to deflect the question. "Umm... well, I mean, it wasn't that bad...." I said, my voice trailing off. "CHASE!?!?!" she yelled, looking at me intensively, making me extremely uncomfortable.
"OK!" I screamed back. "Ok," I said, closing my eyes and taking a quick breath in and out before continuing. "So," I said, reopening my eyes. "You wanna know what really happened?" I asked, my eyes meeting her eyes. She nodded slightly. "And remember Chase, the truth. And only the truth," she said gently. I took a long pause, closing my eyes again and taking a deep, long breath in and out. "Well," I thought, "here goes nothing!"
"You," I began, reopening my eyes, "were.... trying to...... to...... to......... kill me." I finished, looking away and closing my eyes yet again. "I knew it!" she said, sadly, letting go of my face and looking away from my eyes. She sounded and looked as if she was going to cry, but just then, Katie and Marshall burst into the room.
"Chase?! Skye?!?!" she screamed, coming around to the other side of the bed that we were on. She looked down at us and saw me on top of Skye. "Oh..... um..... is this a bad time?" Katie asked, blushing a dark red color. "Cause....... if it is....... I can just come back later-"
"NOO!" Skye and I both screamed simultaneously. "We...... weren't-" I began to say before I was cut off by Skye.
"Doing......... anything like that. Heh, heh." Skye finished, giggling briefly.
"But, if the screaming wasn't coming from that....." she said as I immediately felt my face turning as red as Marshall fire truck upon Katie saying that. Skye's had done the same, and we had both looked at each other and smiled at each other awkwardly before we continued listening to Katie. Then, what were the screams coming from...." she said, her voice trailing off as she saw Chase's scarred face. "OH MY GOSH, CHASE!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?!?!" she screamed. "Well," I started, "It-"
Just then, I was interrupted by a brown, cubical weather radio with a thin, black piece of foam over the speaker, and an extendable, gray antenna, which was folded in. It had been sitting on Skye's bedside table, and it began beeping rapidly before emitting a long, high-pitched whine for about 3 seconds. Then, it produced a very low static sound before a computer simulating a man's voice was heard.
"The Weather Service of the Twin Islands has issued a Tornado Warning for..... ADVENTURE BAY and JAKE'S MOUNTAIN..... until 7:30 AM. At 6:47 AM, meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm band embedded in the outer bands of Hurricane Agathe producing a waterspout over the coast of Adventure Beach, moving west at 15 miles per hour.
HAZARD: TORNADO
SOURCE: MARINE BIOLOGIST REPORTED A CONFIRMED WATERSPOUT MOVING TOWARDS ADVENTURE BEACH.
"Captain Turbot?" I heard Rubble say energetically as he trotted in. "Shhh!!!!" we all said to him. "Ok, ok, sheesh!" he said, trotting over to us and sitting down to the left of me, which was opposite of the side that Skye was on.
"IMPACTS: FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE CAUGHT WITH SHELTER. HOMES WILL BE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. DAMAGE TO ROOF, WINDOWS AND TREES WILL OCCUR. TREE DAMAGE IS LIKELY.

DO NOT WAIT TO SEE OR HEAR THE TWISTER! SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER!"
The radio then produced yet another low static tone before continuing.
..........
The Twin Islands Tsunami Warning Center has issued a Tsunami Warning for.....ADVENTURE BAY..... until 7:30 AM.
"Hey, dudes, what's up-" Zuma said sleepily he walked in, with Rocky sluggishly trailing behind him. We all shushed him, as we were trying to hear the weather radio. "Ok, ok, I'm shushing! Sheesh, don't get youw shoes all up in a knot.
"EVALUATION:

Three short beeps, with pauses in between each, were then heard before the radio automatically shut back off.
All of us, including me, stood there, silently, all in disbelief of what we had just heard.
"Wait a minute....... what time is it now?!?!" I asked, panicking. "Oh no! It's 6:48!" Katie said, worriedly. "Then that must mean....." I said, going over to the doorway and looking out of the two big, front glass doors. My voice had trailed off, and an expression of terror took over my face as I saw a wide, dark twister, destroying the landscape, racing this way. All of the rain on the ground had begun to flow into the vortex, and I saw the big, yellow, Lookout periscope come around to the part of the twister I could see before disappearing back into the dark, gray funnel.
"No......" I said softly, beginning to cry. The Lookout, our gear, our memories...... our home. All being destroyed before our very eyes. Before my very eyes. A sense of rage began to sweep over me, and suddenly I wanted to destroy that twister, to bring back all of our memories, to bring back our home. But it was no use. It was already.... gone.
"Don't worry, Chase," Katie said, seeing that I was crying. She came over to me, petting me gently on my back. She was trying to figure out why I was crying, but she looked through the front doors and saw a piece of the Lookout roof disappear into the funnel.
"It's ok, Chase. We'll rebuild it. But, even better next time." I smiled at this, the tears still falling down my face. "T-Thanks, Katie," I said gently. "But, right now, we need to get into shelter NOW!!! Quickly, everyone, get into the hallway!" she said. Everyone rushed into the hallway, and we all sat down in the middle of it in a circle, with all of us clutching one another tightly. With, the exception of me, as Skye had nuzzled herself deep into my chest fur, trembling. I had put one of my front paws around her. "It's OK, Skye. I'm here." I said. She looked up at me and smiled briefly before nuzzling back into my fur. Seconds passed, which began to feel like hours as we waited for the worst to come. An eerie silence had descended upon on the building. And then our ears popped.
The twister had come directly over us, ripping off the roof of the salon, allowing the walls to collapse. It then began to destroy and tear apart the world around us. Everyone stayed quiet, covering their heads with their paws as debris began to go flying through the air. I did not, however, as I had continued squeezing Skye, holding her as close and tight to me as possible. But, I began to feel her get lifted off the ground, and my grip started to become narrower. Then, Skye had slipped out of my paws and went flying high into the air, much to my dismay and horror.
"SSSKKKYYYEEE!" I screamed as she continued rising higher and higher in the twister. "CHASE! HELP ME-" I heard her scream back before she was cut off. "SKYE?!?! SKYE!?!?!?!" I screamed back to the top of my lungs. But I got no reply. The tornado then gradually moved away from the salon, leaving nothing standing except the walls of the hallway in its wake. But, before I could even begin to wrap my head around what had just happened, I heard Rubble scream "LOOK OUT!" I then felt a tremendous amount of force overtake my body, blurring my vision to only a dark, brown blur. I couldn't even breathe, and I began to realize what was happening.
I was in the tsunami.
Immediately upon realizing this, I began struggling and kicking my legs as hard as I could as to try to surface and be able to catch my breath. But, another wave had come crashing down overhead on top of this one and had pushed me down to the asphalt road, still continuing to drag me along with it. I had then tried again once more, and I had almost made it, right before another wave came crashing down on top of me, this time bringing a large, steel, building beam down over my head. I was pushed down to the bottom again, and I hit the asphalt hard enough to where all of the air had been knocked out of my lungs. Everything around me started to become black and fuzzy.
"Sk-Skye......" I said softly before everything became completely black..........
Note: Well guys, that's the end of another exciting chapter! And sorry for posting late again, but I had a BUNCH of homework and make-up schoolwork to do, if you guys understand. Though at least I didn't post on Wednesday this time, so I'm getting there! And, as for Hurricane Maria, well, it's being ripped apart by wind shear and low ocean temperatures, and it is now a tropical storm with 70 mph winds. It will curve out to sea, and it will NOT make landfall, but it WILL be impacting parts the Carolinas before it does curve! So, watch for the beach erosion, rip currents, 2-4 foot storm surge, and 1-3" inches of rain in those areas! And, just so you guys know, I wrote that last part listening to Solar by Noisestorm! I didn't really like the idea of listening to music while I wrote, but I never realized how much of a difference it made in my mood when I'm writing. Like, if I was writing a sad part, I would listen to some sad music, depending on what kind of sad it was, like an action-like sadness, or loss of a loved one, etc. So, yeah, music has made a difference in my writing. And I can tell you guys like it based on the overall amount of completed reads (which is now at 88%, one of the higher points it's ever been at it typically goes from 65-75%, but 88%? Now that's awesome! So thanks for liking the chapters! I hope they continue to be as promising as you hoped, and if they're not, feel free to leave some comments in the comments section below, as it may be something I can try or fix, or even give me an idea!) But, other than that, that's all I really needed to say! So, Until next time ~ Chris B.
OCs: (Surprise) from slashermaster !
And, if any of guys have an OC ideas, leave them in the comments section! It might jist become the next OC in the story!
