The pups wondered where Zuma and Rocky were and saw they were still outside in the rain. "Rocky HATES water," Marshall said. The pups went outside to check on them and saw them talking together.

Rocky and Zuma suddenly stopped talking and looked up at the pups. Zuma's eyes were red from crying. The pups felt bad for disrupting them. "Hey, um sorry. Can we sit with you guys?" "Sure," Rocky said.

Zuma still kind of wanted to be alone, but he didn't say anything. When the rest of the pups got their vehicles and parked next to Zuma who was in Charm's vehicle, he began to feel the warmth and love from his friends.

Zuma began to choke up."Th-thanks guys. For staying with me..."

"You're more than welcome." "No problem at all."

Zuma's eyes watered. He put his head down so the others wouldn't see. He couldn't help but feel sad. He didn't want to get attached to anypup, or anybody. He didn't want to lose them the way he lost Charm. But it was hard. The pups loved him as a family. And Zuma couldn't help but love them back.

Even though all the pups were in their pup houses, they were still soaked from the rain. Even Rocky. None of them complained though because they knew Zuma was more important than getting a little wet.

Zuma thought he wanted to be alone, but when the other pups were there by his side despite the rain, he knew this was a lot better than being alone.
