Chase's P.O.V

"No! Ryder! Come back!!!" The others howl. What are we going to do? Some cars pull up shortly afterwards. 

"Who are you?" I ask the people.

"We're here for the adoption!"

"Well there's not one, so you can leave." I say with a slight growl.

"But that Ryder boy-"

"Ryder lied! He lied to us all along!" I yell with tears. A blonde lady leans down and pets me.

"It's okay. I won't lie to you."

"You already have. There's no adoption! Goodbye!" I say annoyed. The people finally leave.

"What now!? What about our pups? What about the PAW Patrol?" Skye voice softens.

"It's okay. We'll figure something out." 

"Something!? That's all we come up with? SOMETHING!? Our pups! Our home! OUR OWNER! What about the PAW Patrol?" Skye is balling and everyone else is tearing up too. 

"I'm sorry." is all I manage to say. I place a paw around my wife. She lets out a mournful howl. The rest of us join in as well. The sweet, sad cry carried into the night, swept away by the light breeze.

Ryder's P.O.V

I felt extremely guilty about leaving and was all to happy to stop and speak to Mayor Goodway one last time. 

"Oh, hello Ryder! Katie! Where are you two headed off to?" 

Katie looked at me sadly. "California."

 "All the way across the country!? Why?"

 "Umm, well... it's just that Katie's not getting much business out here. We're actually moving in with her cousin."

 "You too Ryder?" The mayor had a distressed look in her eyes.

 "I could never leave Katie alone. She's a part of me."

 "But Ryder-" tears had begun to fill her eyes and she spoke in a soft whisper. "-what about the PAW Patrol? And all their pups? If I'm correct, you own over 70 dogs!"

 "I've set up an adoption." I looked down sadly.

 "You're going to separate them?"

 "Well, I guess so. I never really thought about it like that." Guilt stabbed me in the heart.

 "Well I guess there's nothing I can do to stop you now. I'm sorry it had to come to this, Ryder. Safe travels." The mayor waved as we drove away. As we reached the outskirts of the small town I knew as home my entire life, I felt a tear slip down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away.

"It's okay Ryder. I'm going to miss them too." Katie's soft voice tickled my ear. I stopped the ATV.

"Ryder?" 

"I can't leave them." 

"I know. And it's okay. I'll get a plane ticket."

"Katie-"

"No, Ryder. I will not allow you to come with me. I'll see you soon Ryder. I promise." She kissed me and walked away. Tears slipped down my cheeks uncontrollably. As I turned the vehicle around, a loud depressing howl sounded on the wind. 

"I'm coming home, pups."
