This is the first time that you're going to be spending New Year's Eve alone. You were assigned to work in LA for 6 months and unfortunately, it's during the Holiday Season. You don't know anyone here so you don't have anyone to invite over or vice versa. You're just a lonely girl in an apartment.

Deciding that you don't want to feel that lonely, you just went out and search for a place where some party is happening. It wasn't that hard since there's basically a party at every block, but you decided to stay in a small bar with a small crowd. Yes, you don't want to be alone, but you also don't want to get too overwhelmed by many people so this place is the perfect balance.

You sat in front of the counter and ordered some food and drinks. The place is cozy and there's a live band performance which you really enjoy. It's still 2 hours before the new year comes so everyone is still settled pretty calm.

You continued to enjoy your time in the middle of this small crowd, when suddenly you heard something you didn't expect.

"Good evening, everyone! I hope you're all having a great time waiting the new year here," the host of the bar said and the crowd cheered, "Well, it looks like we have a very special guest that just arrived. The vocalist of the well-known Pop Punk Band 'Fall Out Boy' is currently here and he's preparing to sing for you!" you heard.

You almost spit the cocktail drink that you're currently sipping when you heard the host. The crowd clapped calmly, and seeing them made you realize that these are older people which probably doesn't know Patrick Stump at all, but you're different. You love that guy to death.

"Let's all welcome, Patrick Stump!" the host exclaimed and Patrick walked out and stayed on the small stage. This is a small venue and you can't believe you're seeing him this close! You've been on some of their concerts, but this is different. There are less than a hundred people here and you're like just meters from him. You probably have your mouth hanging open now.

"Hi, everyone! Let's all welcome 2019 Alone Together!" Patrick said with that bright smile of his. He settled on that stage and sat down with his guitar. Soon enough, he started to play and you're still in shock.

Patrick started to sing and as you have guessed, no one in here knows the song but they all seemed to be enjoying and impressed with him. Well, of course, who wouldn't be impressed with THE Patrick Stump, right?

You're lowkey singing with him and you could feel your heart racing! You don't know why he decided to perform here but heck! You aren't complaining!

'And I said, I'll check in tomorrow if I don't wake up dead
This is the road to ruin and we're starting at the end'

Patrick sang passionately and you're fixated on him. You really love the way he plays and you've been so enthusiastic too that your voice is getting louder.

"Say YEAH!" he sang.

"YEAH!" from the silence of the crowd, you shouted and he immediately looked towards you, smiling while singing. He was even nodding, probably happy that someone knows their song in there.

Scream it from the top of your lungs...

You continued to shout yeah and you saw him chuckling. He was even pointing at you everytime that part comes. Patrick continued to sing the song and also two more song from their band and it was amazing. From that moment, he kept on looking at you, happy that someone from the crowd is an Overcast Kid.

"Well, it's only 15 more minutes before 2019 so I'm gonna let you guys go. Let's welcome the new year with a huge smile! Thank you, everyone!" Patrick said and you all cheered for him.

You think that your face is now blushing so much. You can't believe he noticed you and it's the best plot twist of this year! You faced the counter again, surely day dreaming and it takes all your self-control not to scream in there.

"Hi! Thanks for backing me up earlier!" you heard someone from your left and you quickly looked that way. It was really him.

"P-Patrick," you stuttered while just looking at him.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Patrick," he cutely said while lending you a hand for a handshake.

"H-hey, I'm Y/N. I'm a huge fan. I can't believe that I'm talking to you this close...and oh god. I'm fangirling so much, I'm sorry," you briefly shook his hand then our of embarassment, you covered your face with your hands.

Patrick chuckled at you, "Aaaww, trust me you're still calm at this point," he said.

"This is the best plot twist of my 2018, seriously," you murmured.

"Yeah, same. Didn't expect that I'd meet someone like you here. I guess my decision to come here has a very GREAT reason after all," he said playfully which almost made your face explode like a firework, "Want to go out and welcome the new year there? The fireworks around this place is great," he invited.

"Of course!"

You both walked side by side until you reached the terrace of the place and you stayed there. Soon enough the countdown started and the beautiful fireworks are lighting up the skies.

"Talk about Light 'Em Up!" you said that made him chuckle.

"Happy New Year!" people shouted and you both did too. They started to greet each other, some shared new year kisses and hugs, but you on the other hand is still fixated on the light show in the sky.

"You and I were, You and I were
Fire, Fire, Fireworks..." Patrick softly sang. "But I do wish we won't go off too soon?" he shyly followed that lyrics with that statement. "Happy New Year, Y/N!" he greeted.

"Happy New Year, Patrick...and sure, maybe start this new year with a new friendship?" you faced him, you don't know where you're getting this confidence but you love it. Besides, you really want to talk to him more. Not because he's Patrick Stump, but because he really seems to be one of the best people in this world.

"That sounds great...we'd just walk our way up from there. Cheers!" He said with a slight smirk then we cheered our glasses.

This supposedly lonely new year's eve turned out to be not so lonely afterall.
