Imagine #45: Vocal Rest (One-Shot)

At long last, you'll be able to meet your most favorite band today! You've been a fan of these pop punk bands since you were a 12-year-old kid and you're still in shock that now, after 12 more years, you're a famous radio DJ that interviews these bands.

You've met a lot of them over the 2 years you're doing this job, but this is the first time you'll be able to meet them - Fall Out Boy. You're so excited to meet them and you can't even contain yourself anymore.

"In just fifteen minutes, Fall Out Boy will be on air with me here and I'll be interviewing them about their new record and single. And IF I stopped talking for too long, don't be afraid to call the ambulance because I've probably lost my consciousness by then," you joked as you were on air. You did the usual routine for your radio show until one of the staff knocked on the glass of the live you, telling you that the boys arrived.

You immediately put on one of their songs and went out of the live room, and you're honestly nervous to meet them.

"There she is!" Joe said with a huge smile as he saw you. The other three guys looked and gave you the same kind of smile.

"I'm dreaming! I feeling like a teenage fangirl again!" You said as you looked at them and they all chuckled.

"It's an honor to know that we are your most favorite band," Andy said sweetly as you shake their hands one by one.

"Well, yeah! She's the like one of the best radio DJ and us being her favorite is like an award or something!" Pete said excitedly that made you giggle.

Finally, you turned to Patrick and he gave you a very genuine kind of smile. Suddenly, Patrick pulled you in for a tight hug after you shook his hand. You heard him somehow chuckle that time which you think is so cute. After a second or two, you both pulled back.

"You're making me explode," you murmured, surely blushing your face off. Patrick chuckled silently again. "I can't believe I'm able to meet you guys! I really love you all," you said, letting your fangirl side show.

They all thanked you with a sweet smiled except Patrick that blew you a kiss which almost made you melt.

"Pardon, Patrick, Y/N. He's on vocal rests. It seems really useless that he still went here even in this condition, but he insisted because he wanted to meet you," Pete explained.

"Awww, that's so sweet, Patrick. Thank you," you told him then he playfully tip his hat for you.

After letting them set up, you're all finally sitting inside the live room. Soon, the on-air sign, lit up again indicating thw start of your show with the boys. You started with the usual interview and you're really enjoying your time.

"Don't worry, guys. I promise, Patrick is here, he's just om vocal rests. He's just silently listenig and chuckling here," you said.

You prepared some questions for them and some 'would you rather' questions. Patrick was also playing by pointing and acting out the things he picked. It was too funny and it cute because his expressions are on point, it was like that clip of them about 'BAnD lip reading'. Thankfully, you can tell that they're really having fun with you too.

After around 30-minutes, the interview is about to end.

"Well, I hope you guys enjoyed your time in here. It's really an honor to finally meet you all!" you said.

"It's an honor to meet one of the most famous radio DJ too, and seriously we had a great time. We haven't laughed like this for days," Pete said with a huge smile.

"So, again. I'm Y/N and I'm with Fall Out Boy, please pre-order their new record called MANIA, seriously, do it now. And also, see them on tour and get their merch, you won't regret it. I don't love this band for nothing! Now I'm leaving you off with their new single 'Champion'. Enjoy!" You said and played the song, and the light on the on-air signed disappeared.

"Seriously, this is one of the best interviews we ever had," Joe suddenly said that made you really happy. Pete and Andy were nodding in agreement and Patrick gave you a big thumbs up.

"You guys are the best!" You said.

After that, you went out of the live room and talked to them more and took some pictures with them. Surely, you won't forget this day.

"I can't wait to be back here for an interview again," Pete stated.

"Same here and I hope by then Patrick will be able to talk, I'm really dying to hear his voice personally," you said and looked over to Patrick. He smiled with an apologetic gaze.

Pete, Andy, and Joe began to walk and talk to the producer of the station, but Patrick remained in front of you. All this time, he was just really looking at listening to you attentively, he's really making up for not being able to talk.

Suddenly, he pulled you in for a hug again and god, you can just melt in there. He hugged you tightly, indicating his thanks and sorry.

"You know, even if you're not talking you still manage to make me blush so freaking hard. And really, I can feel what you want to tell me and thank you," you told him and he gave you a sweet smile.

Suddenly, Patrick pulled something out of his pockets. After doing so, he gently grab your hand, then putting something over your palm. When you were able to see what he had given you, you almost cried. It was a guitar pick from his Soul Punk tour that happened almost 4 years ago from now. It was already customized to be a necklace and behind the pick was his signature.

You always talk about how you love Soul Punk in your show, like seriously always talk about it. You also always say that you'll forever regret not being able to watch any of the Soul Punk tour show and Patrick might have known about this and now he's giving you a special guitar pick from that era.

Suddenly, you were pulled out of your thoughts when you felt Patrick brush your tears.

"Patrick...t-thank you!" You were lost for words and those are the only things you were able to say.

He gave you a very sincere and cute smile and you just responded in the same manner.

"Patrick, come on!" Pete called from afar as they were about to leave now. Patrick gazed at you again and began to wave a good bye.

"Bye, Patrick. Thank you for this! Can't wait for you boys to be back here again," You said and he began to walk to his friends and with a final look back at you, he smiled once again blew another quick kiss at you which almost made you melt in there.

He's really such a lovely guy, you thought.
