Imagine #44: Miss Soul Punk (One-Shot)

Imagine #44: Miss Soul Punk

{So, I got this idea when I watched this one Soul Punk era interview where Patrick said it'll be cool if someone just knows him from this record, not from being a part of Fall Out Boy. Enjoy reading!}

*Patrick's P.O.V.*

"Can you honestly believe that girl? She has no clue!"  I heard of the girls said while on the line. I'm really trying to focus with the meet and greet but somehow, what they are talking about got my attention.

"Hey, don't be like that, maybe there's an explanation why she doesn't know Patrick is a part of the band," the other girl said.

"Yeah, I'm not being rude, I just think that's kind of impossible not to know. But yeah, she may have a reason," the girl replied and somehow, I really want to meet this particular girl they are talking about.

Finally, I continued with the meet and greet and as always, I love this activity. I love connecting with my fans. I really love how they are supporting this record of mine, but maybe it's just really unavoidable that they still ask me about Fall Out Boy things. I honestly don't mind the little things they ask, but some of them were just really rude and would just ask about everything the band instead of my current record. I just really want them to be here for these songs, I mean, I appreciate them being here anyways, but I'm currently here for these songs and I do think they should be too.

I continued to meet a lot of my fans and it really brings a smile to my face everytime they say they appreciate this record, it really means a lot to me. Suddenly, another girl came forward to me and she looked quite shy unlike the others that are just extremely excited and fangirling, this one looks so innocent and somehow looks a little guilty?

"Hi, there!" I told her with a huge smile and she gave me a cute smile too. I really find her stunning.

"H-hi! I-I really love your album, Patrick. I mean...it have the greatest songs I know." she said and her voice was so gentle. I smiled as she let me see her album and I signed it.

"Thank you very much, I didn't think these songs will even be dubbed as 'greatest' honestly," I told him with a chuckle. "What's your name?"

"Y/N." she answered me. I kept on looking at her and she was really different, she's not that starstruck or whatever. It's not the usual 'omg, you're in front of me, I can't speak' but somehow I can see it more like she's feeling guilty about something. I can see it in her eyes.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked worriedly, standing up and going next to her. She immediately realized that I can see her emotions and quickly hid it with a smile.

"Y-yeah, of course, I am, Patrick!" she said while smiling at me. I stood beside her, but I can still see something is wrong.

"Hey, girl! What's your favorite 'Fall Out Boy' album and song again?" Suddenly, someone from the line shouted and it was a mocking question. Instantly, the girl beside me looked down to the floor...again looking guilty about something.

"Hey, what was that for?!" I asked loudly, but still trying to remain calm.

"D-don't be angry at them, Patrick. I mean...they're just trying to tell that...that I h-had no clue that you're in a band and I -- " she explained innocently and I honestly think she's so cute.

But before she could even finish her sentence, those group of mean people laughed again.

"Seriously, how can that be possible? Are you living under a rock of some sort? You must be a fake fan." one of them said loudly and that does it for me.

"I'm trying so hard to remain calm in here, but that does it. shut for fucking mouth or I'll have the security throw you out! THAT WAS RUDE!" I said loudly while glaring at him. I looked at Y/N beside me and it really looks like she's preventing those forming tears in her eyes fall. She's feeling humiliated for nothing. "Why does it matter if she doesn't know that I am a part of the band? This show isn't even a Fall Out Boy show! Why would you even bring a topic about the band? I'm here for my own record, not because I am a part of Fall Out Boy. And really?! A fake fan?! To be honest, she can be dubbed here as the truest fan of Soul Punk because she just knows me for it, she really came here because of that record unlike some rude assholes like you who's probably here to whine about what's happening to the band...when are you getting back together?!" I said, letting all my emotions out.

I took a deep breath as all eyes are on me. I sighed and looked at the small crowd again. "Look, I'm not ditching the band, I'm not hating it, and I'm not letting it go. But all of you should know that the band is on a break and I am here because of my own record, the songs that I created and it would be so freaking good if you're here for that too...not because I'm the vocalist of Fall Out Boy. I put this out for you to appreciate, I honestly don't care the attention towards me, I want you to appreciate the songs. So please, let me remind you that this is a Soul Punk tour...and you there, never ever do that again. You're making yourself look like THE FAKE FAN you're talking about, fans should support each other too, not make fun of them." I continued and I'm thankful that some of them smiled at me. "Excuse me for a while," I said and turned.

Y/N was behind me, looking at me in awe. It seems her tears have dried up too. I gave her a small smile. "Will you come with me for a while?" I asked her and she gave me a small nod.

My assistant guided us towards the backstage and I entered my dressing room, letting Y/N in. "Please, come in," I said.

"P-Patrick, I-I'm really sorry, I feel responsible for causing that scene. I really didn't mean for that to --

"Hey, you have nothing to say sorry about, Y/N. Besides, I should thank you, I wouldn't have the courage to say all those things if it wasn't for what happened. I've been keeping those thoughts inside and it's finally good to feel that I let it out," I explained to her and she gave me a small smile.

"But seriously, thank you. I-I really fell in love with Soul Punk starting from the first time I heard it. My brother gave it to me, he said he randomly got it in the music store and I gave it a listen and I instantly loved every song. The topics are so relevant today, but the sound is so unique, it's not the generic club music, it's not that I have something against those types of music, but what I mean is, it's something really unique and you've detached yourself from the majority and I really love it." she explained and I found myself mesmerized while looking at her. She explained everything in a very passionate manner and seriously, she got everything right...she understood what I wanted these songs to be about.

"T-that's really sweet of you..." I murmured to her and she smiled.

"And sadly, I didn't know you're a part of a band because --

"Y/N, you don't have to explain, really. It's not a big deal for me, in fact, I'm really happy that I met someone like you," I told her with a chuckle. "I've said on one of my interviews that I'd be so happy to meet someone who doesn't know both worlds and you made that happen. And because of that too, I really now know that people appreciate this record. So thank you, Y/N. I really didn't expect this to happen." I stated and she gave me a huge smile.

Finally, I can see the fangirl side of this girl. I went close to her and gave her a tight hug which she gladly responded in the same manner. After that we took some pictures together and talked some more, she really helped me lower my temper down and in no time, I'm ready to go back out again.

"Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, Patrick. I'll never forget this. And thank you for backing me up out there, it really means a lot." she told me.

"It's nothing compared to the support and appreciation you're giving me, Y/N," I told her. "Uhm, hey, I was wondering if you can still stick around after the show. Uhm, I mean, if it's okay with you and if you're free. I have some free time later and maybe we can go out for a dinner or something? Again, if it's okay with you." I said while terribly stuttering, I'm still not good at this!

Suddenly, I saw Y/N blushing so hard and she gave a very cute smile. It's like now she's trying hard not to fangirl, this is way better than earlier while she's feeling guilty. "That sounds great, Patrick. I'm gladly accepting your invitation," she answered which just made me smile widely.

"Great! I'll tell the security to get you later after the show." I stated and she nodded at me.

"Well, I'll see you later, I guess?" she said and started walking to the other exit.

"Yeah, see you later, Miss Soul Punk," I said, deciding to give her that nickname.
