Imagine #38: Car Crashed Hearts (One-Shot)
Imagine #38: Car Crashed Hearts (One-Shot)
*Patrick's P.O.V.*
I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late.
Yep...I SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT, but I was too stubborn and now I woke up late and I think my band members are itching to kill me now. I'm already three hours late for our recording session for new tracks on our new album called Folie A Deux in the studio and I'm still in my house, panicking over how late I am.
"They are going to kill me." I murmured as I shove things inside my bag, not even minding arranging them properly. I just woke up fifteen minutes ago, took a very quick shower, and now I'm multi-tasking just so I can be able to leave fast.
I've also had more than 20 missed calls from my friends...and they're probably so irritated with me now. Well, I'm guilty of always being the late one, but I told them I'll change this time...but I guess that's not what's currently happening.
I grabbed my bag, jacket, and keys then hopped into my car. The studio is still a 20-minute drive from here, but it can be around 10 if I take a shortcut and hurry up a bit. I immediately started the engine and drove quickly to the studio...I really hate being late, but what can I do? That's just who I am throughout these years.
I took a lot of shortcuts, avoiding main streets and the traffic as much as possible and I'm driving faster than I used too, but of course, still not going over the speed limit. I'm taking so many turns and honestly, these shortcuts are not great for someone who's catching up something like me since these are neighborhood area and my speed is not appropriate in here, but it's just for today.
Finally, just a few more turns and I'll be there...I took another quick turn and accelerated, but suddenly my eyes widen as a girl was about to cross the road. She didn't seem to notice that I was too fast and I didn't notice that she was about to cross too.
I immediately stepped on the brakes so hard and thankfully, I didn't lose control of the car, but I still heard the tires screeched and then heard a low thud.
"Holy smokes! Oh my god!" I screamed, I stopped at the right moment but I still hit the girl somehow, but I know it wasn't too hard.
I quickly climbed out of the car, seeing my tires smoking because of the sudden stop, but I didn't mind that. I went over to the girl in front of my hood and thank god she's okay. My car hit her a little that made her fall on the ground with a small scratched on her legs...she just seemed shocked and I am too!
"I'm so so sorry! I didn't see you. Fuck, this is a mess!" I said to myself as I knelt beside her. Some people began to gather too, but they were relieved to see the girl is fine.
She finally looked at me, her pupils dilating with the sight of me, but I can still see the shock on her face.
"I-I'm fine. It's my fault too...I didn't see or hear you." she murmured as she looked at me innocently.
"I'll help you up," I said, helping her stand up. There were just scratches on her legs. "I'll bring you to the hospital. Really, I'm so sorry! I wouldn't mind if you call 911 now, but I insist on bringing you to the hospital," I told her.
"Mr. Stump...I-I mean, Patrick, I'm okay. I really don--
"No! It's my fault, please." I begged and finally, she nodded.
I led her to the passenger seat of my car and I immediately went to the driver's seat. I checked everything if it's still functioning, and thankfully everything's intact. I started driving towards a hospital and suddenly my phone started ringing.
"C-can you answer that for me and put it on speaker?" I asked the girl shyly and she just nodded and did what I said.
"Dude! Where on earth are--
"Pete! I almost ran over someone, quit pressuring me to get there faster!" I said in a panic as I drive, but now I'm driving more carefully.
"What?! Oh my god, are you okay? Is she okay? Where are you now?!" Pete asked.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine...I'm bringing her to the hospital right now," I answered with my shaking voice.
"Stump, you messed up! What the hell?" he said loudly.
"U-Um...I'm actually fine. H-he didn't really run me over, he stopped at the right moment. His car just hit me lightly. I swear all I have are some scratches...I was just shocked too...and oh my gosh, Patrick Stump...just almost ran me over." the girl suddenly said...it's like she just realized she's a fan of ours or something.
"Oh, thank god! Just head over to the hospital. Text me what hospital and we'll go there. Bye." Pete said and he hung up.
I took a deep heavy breath and breathe it out, finally being able to calm down now.
"Honestly, I'm fine, Patrick. I don't have any broken bones...these are just scratches, I'm all good." the girl said with an innocent smile. I was shocked at how calm she is and she's not cursing me or anything.
"Y-you can be mad, being me doesn't mean that you'll just let this slide. You know me and maybe you're a fan or ---
"Silly, it's not that. I know it was my fault too, I was not alert and I'm not looking at my surroundings then. I won't press any charges and you're showing guilt...you even insist on getting me to a hospital even with these minor injuries." she answered me.
"Still! I hurt you and I'm so sorry...Promise, this won't happen again!" I said and she's right, I really am guilty.
"Then, I forgive you, Patrick. Thank you for worrying too," she said and finally, we reached the hospital.
It was true that she only have minor scratches, but still, that doesn't mean I'll just let it slide. The nurses gave her first aid and after a few minutes, she's all fixed. I was just by the waiting area, sitting and waiting for her.
"Hey! I was beginning to get worried, you took too long in there." I said as I walked near her.
"The nurse and I had a little chat, sorry about that," she answered me with a cute chuckle. "By the way, thank you very much. I honestly could have done this on my own, but you still insisted. It really proves how sweet, caring, and kind you are, Patrick. The fandom wasn't wrong about you." she explained and honestly that made me blush.
"S-so, you're a fan of ours, huh?" I asked her and she chuckled.
"Big fan! I've been a fan since your first EP came out and now I'm dying for the release of Folie. I can't wait for it!" she excitedly said, letting her fangirl side show.
"Aww,"
"Seriously, I got more shocked when I saw that it was you who came out of the car compared to being hit by your car," she confessed while giggling.
"Again, I'm really sorry and I won't be mad or anything if you pressed charges...
"No, there's no need for that. Besides, I'm at fault too...so it's fine. I promise, I'm not also doing this because I'm a fan...I'm doing this because it's just the right thing to do." she answered. "Oh, and by the way...I'm Y/N. You know, in case you want to know." she continued.
"Y-yeah, I was about to ask that too." I said as I feel myself blush again. "Well, i-if you're really just gonna let it slide like that...the least thing I can do is maybe invite you over for one of our gigs...and maybe we can go and grab some food after. I mean...uh, if that's okay with you." I said as I began to stutter. I can't believe I'm already liking the girl I almost killed earlier.
Y/N blushed, but then gave me a bright smile and a nod. "T-that'll be great, Patrick."
"And also, I'm not doing this because you let this slide...I'm doing this because it feels like the right thing to do." I said, damn, how did I get this smooth?
Y/N continued blushing...I can't believe this almost tragic event would turn into something like this...
It's like our hearts were the ones that crashed into each other like cars.

*Y/N's P.O.V.*
"Well, it's true. For all those who heard that story the first time, those events are true. We met in an almost fatal accident." I said as Patrick finished telling our wedding guests about the story on how we met. Most of the were 'aww'-ing, and also most are laughing.
It has been years since that incident happened and I didn't really expect that it would lead to something like this and I must say...I'm glad that I nearly died that day.
"It's true until now we're all baffled that Patrick is now married to the person he almost killed before." Pete joked and again laughter.
We're at our wedding reception now...yep, Patrick and I got married. Things just went better for us after that little incident and now we're here, I honestly don't regret anything.
"But seriously, this tale is worth telling our grandchildren. They'll love it." Patrick said and I couldn't agree more.
"It's indeed the most fortunate misfortune that happened to me, my now wedded handsome husband," I murmured.
"It really is, my now wedded stunning wife," he answered.
