Imagine #84: You Can Wear A Crown, But You're No Princess (Part 3 of 5)
Imagine #84: You Can Wear A Crown, But You're No Princess (Part 3 of 5)
Y/N's P.O.V.
Being a princess is really not a fun job. It's not all elegance, luxury and royalty, it's still a job too; a freaking heavy one.
I just came to realize all these when I started learning things and seriously, I'm glad that I'm a fast learner or else this land would have fallen down before I can even say anything. With the help of the best educator in the land and Elisa's help in the shadows, the economy of the land has gone better and better. It really makes me happy too, I might have a heavy job right now, but it pays off to see the people in the country out of poverty and that's really what matters now...and also, Elisa's protection too.
Despite all these good things happenings for the last three months after my coronation, there were still a lot of attempts to take over this country by marrying me and by that I mean a lot of princes and kings from other countries court me non-stop by sending a lot of gifts and everything. Seriously, I have no intention to marry someone while still under this condition, I'm here, standing as a princess to protect this land and the real royalty and I wouldn't just play around with someone that could mess this all up.
As usual, I woke up in my super huge comfy bed and did my daily routine before I can even show my face to anyone. I always check my secret phone too, just in case Elisa had contacted me or something. I'm just glad that they found a safe place to live in and they seemed happy and unbothered there. When I was already in my princess mode, I walked out of my room and went straight to the throne room and I swear I almost checked my pulse when I walked in there.
Flowers...Beautiful bouquet flowers are freaking everywhere and it could even fill this huge room now.
I have no idea what's happening. These many flowers can only be seen if you're opening some facility OR you're dead, that's why I almost checked my pulse.
"Ah! Pleasant morning, Princess Y/N. Lovely sight, isn't it?" my educator greeted me and I just pushed myself to smile and it was broken by my sneeze. Great, I'm allergic to some of these flowers.
"Excuse me." I said while blushing and regained my composure. "Who sent these flowers and may I ask...why?" I asked casually.
"Princes and Kings from other countries, your highness. Of course, they wanted to greet you with a beautiful morning with these flowers." He said excitedly and I appreciate his enthusiasm more than I appreciate these flowers, like seriously, my allergies are bothering me right now.
"Oh, they have a great timing by sending all these flowers at the same time." I did really did try to hide my sarcasm there, but I guess I can't be helped.
I just decided to go and examine some of them, I seriously want to request a hazmat suit right now because I've been sneezing non-stop.
"Your majesty, do you know what flowers you are allergic too? I'll send those ones out right away." He asked and I'm thankful for that.
"I think it's the oriental poppies, please. Thank you." I said and soon after that they sent those flowers out immediately.
I decided to sit for a while and let my allergies go away as those flowers were brought out. I observed the others while sitting and one bouquet caught my attention...it was a collection of green roses. I couldn't believe that my eyes didn't catch this the moment I got inside the throne room. The colors of the flowers were so vibrant and it smells wonderful. Also, if you compare this to all of the other flowers, this is the simplest; having a simple arrangement and it wasn't too big too...like it was literally made and prepared by an amateur.
I examined the bouquet more and there was a piece of paper in it too. I carefully took it and read it:
'Where is your prince tonight? I hope he is a gentleman. And Maybe he won't find out what I know, you are the last good thing about this part of land.' I read and I have no idea what I am feeling right now...this note was just so simple but I kinda felt every sincerity written on it.
I read it over and over again, finding a smile on my face every time I do so and I honestly hate feeling like this.
"Y/N, focus!" I whispered to myself and finding myself walking to my room, putting that one particular bouquet in one of the vase and leaving the note behind. I swear, I really hated myself for feeling like this.
--------------
The day went okay as usual, but the best part today is when I received a message from Elisa just about seconds ago, she said she wanted to meet up in the place where we first met.
I couldn't really hide my smile right now, it has been weeks since I last saw my best friend and I'm going to be able to see her again. Also, it's the perfect time now, the sun is set and it's already very dark outside I can totally make my way out without getting caught.
I said goodnight to the servants and said to them I wasn't feeling well and I don't want to be bothered and went straight to my room. I quickly jumped off this elegant dress and searched for my jeans and hoodie, god I missed wearing these. I quickly wore them and readied myself to go off, but before I do I took one more thing with me...a gun. Yes, I have one now, since I became the princess I requested to be trained with this kind of things too, it was weird for them, but I insisted and thankfully they let me do it, now I can handle things like this and some basic martial arts.
"Okay, all set." I said when I looked at the mirror. I was about to walk to my window for my break out now, but something stopped me...I definitely heard something rustling over there.
My heart beat raced, but I stood my ground. I immediately pointed my gun in there and waited for something or someone to go out. I slowly walked towards the window bravely, still holding up my gun...
"Who's there---
Before I can even end my sentence and react, someone jumped on me, immediately knocking my gun out of my hand and holding me down to the ground...but he's making sure he's not hurting me too. My eyes were closed as I struggle to free myself and I almost shouted but he put his hands over my mouth too.
"Prince Patrick?!" I whispered shout when I looked at him and he smiled at me in guilt.
He gestured me to stay quiet and I have no idea why I trust this guy this much, but I did what he told me. He immediately helped me up and fixed my hair a bit too and then I realized...he's wearing casual clothes too.
"What are...why are you here?" I asked him and that's when his expression got all serious.

Patrick's P.O.V.
"They plan to WHAT?! Father, you cannot let this happen!" I shouted in anger from hearing that news...it's too soon, too cruel too. One of the land near us plans to take over Princess Y/N's kingdom with the help of other more powerful countries TONIGHT! They plan to destroy most of the city, wanting the princess to surrender to them!
"Son, all in all there are three major countries going to attack Princess Y/N's kingdom. I want to help them, but we cannot. We are still recovering from that last war. I am so sorry." My father said in sadness, but I'm still determined to do something.
"I'm going to save the princess...and warn them about this so they can get ready." I said, I hated the fact that this is happening too soon.
"Ready my son's transportation to Princess Y/N's land –
"No, father, I can manage this on my own. Just trust me on this." I said to him and he nodded.
"Please, be careful, Patrick."
I ran to my room after that and changed my clothes. I seriously hate wearing those too formal clothes all the time and finally, I have a reason to wear this casual clothes. I wore jeans and a simple hoodie and went off to my secret space in that castle where I was hiding a motorcycle. I went off as fast as I can towards their country and thankfully I arrived there in no time. Now, it's time for me to sneak into the castle.
Lucky, this was my hobby before and I did manage to get inside without being noticed and I immediately went straight towards Princess Y/N's room. Expecting from her, she did know that someone was coming and I saw her pointing the gun already. I acted quickly sending her to the ground and her gun flying off her hand and finally she saw me too. I helped her up, guilty that I put her in the ground like that. I examined the surroundings, making sure that no one else is ready to kill me there and then I noticed the flowers I sent her resting on a vase. It was the only flower in there too and that made me feel something for her, but really, now's not the time for that.
"Princess Y/N, my father heard a news that your country will be attacked tonight with the reason of making you surrender for them. You must do what you can to save as much people." I told her. At first, I was thinking that maybe she'll never believe me, but I think this girl can see right through people fast.
"Come with me." She said and she's already in her most serious expression.
With that, we ran out of her room, not caring if the servants were looking at us while were wearing that kind of clothes.
"Everyone! Gather in the throne room! Guards, open the castle gates to the public, leave no one out! We are going to be under attack as what Prince Patrick have warned me. This is not a drill, everyone!" she was so intimidating and everyone followed her order with that.
"Mr. Trohman! Hack all networks in the country and stream me live. NOW!" we arrived in the studio-type room in the castle and everyone was moving fast, it was really amazing.
"You're going to be live your highness in 3...2...1...!
"People of this land! It is I, Princess Y/N, everyone watching this immediately head towards the castle if your location is near. And if not, please proceed to every army headquarters in your area! This is an immediate warning from Prince Patrick. Our land will be under attack tonight! Bring all of your loved ones and leave materials things behind, what's important is your safety. Again, head to the nearest headquarters or this castle, immediately! Please, be careful everyone!" she said in a very calm and authoritative way and with that, I already felt the panic and dread around.
"Thank you, Mr. Trohman, please, make your way to the throne room immediately." She said and we ran out again.
"Princess Y/N, your commands!" two generals ran straight to her.
"Close all entrance and exits to this land. Let no one in and no one out. We must ensure the safety of our people and lead off the enemy! General Wentz and Hurley, I have high hopes for you. Be careful!" she said.
"We will do our best, we should escort you out of the land for the mean time –
"NO! I'm not going to escape this land while it's under this situation, I choose to remain here and I wish you respect that decision. Now do what I commanded you, generals!" she said and they gave each other salutes before going off.
I looked at the princess with amazement. Like I said before, I know she isn't a princess, but she has learned how to act like one and be like one in no time. She shows no sign of panic and it seems like she wants her people to act the same way.
We both hurried to the throne room where most people are already in there. Again, she stood in the middle of them as their leader, saying that she will try everything to protect them. I myself feel that I can trust her and everything she says, she's too good at this and I honestly look up to her right now. I almost want to believe that we can fend off the enemy, but that hope was immediately broken when we heard a loud explosion meters from us.
Everyone fell into the silence and I finally saw some dread in Y/N's face. She immediately went back to the guy that she run to earlier.
"Where?" she asked out of breath.
"Your highness, the main street is now under attack." The guy said in panic.
"No, Elisa..." I faintly heard her say in panic and with that Y/N ran.
"Princess!!" I followed her as she seemed to be running back at her room.
Finally, I was able to catch up with her and I saw seeing her putting a bulletproof vest around her.
"What do you think you are doing, your highness?" I asked her, but she already seemed so distant and worried for something. She's really moving fast and I was only able to get her attention when I held her.
"You can't stop me, Prince Patrick. I need to save someone!" she said in panic.
"Then I'll go with you." I said while putting on some vest too and getting guns. "She's it, isn't it?" I asked her and she looked at me in curiosity.
"I don't know what you're talking about, but please, your highness, help me save her...It's for the sake of this land." She said in determination and we both went out of the castle, running towards the danger.
There's no doubt she's not the real princess, seeing this side of her really convinces me that she's something more precious compared to that.
{Thanks for reading everyone! And OMG we're on #370 now ^_^ THANK YOU!!!}
