Imagine #18: You and Your band impressed Fall Out Boy

Fix me in forty-five!" You and your bandmates have never played this hard for your entire life. Your adrenaline is fully kicking in and you're just singing and playing the guitar passionately.

You are one of the contestants in the Battle of the Bands that Fall Out Boy created. They are searching for a new band to work with and you and your friends want to win the spot. But even with that kind of determination, you all became extra nervous because you just found out that out of six bands, your band is the only one who has a girl member in it, and in fact, your band is an all-girl band. It's not like that you don't believe in your own band, the stereotype is just messing with your minds now.

The individual performance of each band just finished and now all of the contestants are on stage having a sing off. It honestly looks and sounds so cool, you feel like you're in a Pitch Perfect movie, but an emo/punk edition one.

You and your bandmates used every kind of emotion to perform, you want to give this your all because it's a now or never chance. You've always been inspired by Fall Out Boy and now that you have a chance to work with them, you're all not gonna let that pass.

Fortunately, the boys are really giving your band the attention. They were so impressed with the fired-up passion while you play. Yeah, for them everyone on stage is so good, but your band just shines the brightest and also, you all remind them of themselves because your band could be 'Fall Out Boy's' parallel world version - your drummer is absolutely amazing at playing the drums while only wearing a sports bra since she wants to show off the beautiful tattoos all over her body, just like Andy. Your guitarist has a curly long hair and she really knows and owns the guitar riff of every song you sing, just like Joe. Your bassist is the most emo girl of the band who always wear eyeliner and also has a sometimes-weird but always-hot fashion style, just like Pete. And you, as the vocalist, always wants to wear a hat and you also have a soul voice, just like Patrick.

The battle on stage went on and you noticed that your song choices are Fall Out Boy's lesser known songs. You can really tell that the boys like what you and your friends are playing. The other bands are amazing too, you can't deny that, but your song choices somehow gives you a boost.

"Alpha dog and oh-oh omegalomaniac

Alpha dog and oh-oh mega mega low

Welcome to the new deja vu 

I can almost see the wizard through the curtains,

Alpha dog and oh oh omegalomaniac" your band played when it was your turn. And then the spotlight goes around again, other band singing "Sugar, Were Going Down" "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" "Phoenix" "Light 'Em Up" and "Grand Theft Autumn".

"Boomerang your head

Back to the city I grew up in

Again and again and again

Forever a LAKE EFFECT KID!" you sang wholeheartedly and the boys cheered for you. Your band is really gaining their full attention which you can't believe is happening.

Again, the spotlight went around for the last time until it's time for your ending song.

"I will never believe in anything again

Kick drum beating in my chest again

Preach electric to a microphone stand

We will never believe AGAIIIN!" you played with all your might and you send the boys on to their feet and they cheered for you.

Your heart is pumping hard now, probably out of fatigue, nervousness, and adrenaline. You just huddled with your bandmates, giving each other strength as the boys are about to announce their decision.

"All of you are really incredible and we are sure that you'll go far with your talents, all of you! " Joe exclaimed.

"We hated the fact that we can't choose all of you, but a contest is a contest. Only one has to win..." Andy said.

"...but that doesn't mean the ones that weren't chosen are losers. Again, you're all incredible," Pete said while smiling.

"Oh,trust me, deciding is really really hard on our part, but we've come to the decision that 'The Fall Out Angels' takes the trophy tonight!" Patrick shouted and it took you 3 seconds to process what he said before you and your bandmates screamed. That's the name of your band and you won!

After congratulating each other on stage and having handshakes with the other bands, you finally went down the stage to meet with the boys.

"Thank you!!!" you told them, trying hard to hold back your tears.

"Just one question. Did you girls do these on purpose? I mean, you're all like our girl versions and if yes, holy hell, that's dedication, but if no, still...holy hell, what a coincidence!" Pete asked and all of them are obviously fascinated with how we look.

"Whether you believe us or not, this is really us. And our band started in a freaking bookstore starting with her saying. 'Hey I know about music' and her replying "Well, I know MORE about music'." Your friend explained and you all laughed. She wasn't lying though, it was a weird coincidence, but you guessed that maybe that's how destiny works.

Now, you are sure that this will be the start of a good friendship between your band and Fall Out Boy.
