"Prince of Lanka you still believe nothing will happen to Lanka. Lanka Lakshmi is no longer guarding this place. Your brother, my brother in law Akshayakumara is dead. The golden Lanka is burnt. Ram has not even come here. Just a messenger of Ram came and wrecked this havoc.

You didn't believe about the magical monkey when I told about him to you. Now you saw the magic of Hanuman. Prince of Lanka you couldn't kill him with brahmastra. The soldiers of Lanka couldn't cloth his entire tail as it kept on growing. If that's not enough I heard from Trijatha that Hanuman's tail was unhurt because Sita prayed to Lord of Fire. Prince of Lanka, you have brought a pious woman here, a woman as pious as your mother and me. Send her back to Ram with dignity and save Lanka." Sulochana sat on the bed and started crying keeping her head on the carved bed rest.

Meghnadh looked at his wife. His heart knew what Sulochana said was true. What his father did was treachery to a pious woman. But his head didn't want to accept it. He sat beside Sulochana and kept his arm on her shoulder.

"Sulochana you are unnecessarily worrying. I agree we were over confident and Hanuman took advantage of that to enter Lanka. Loss of Akshayakumara is irreparable. However he was young and unlike me has not fought many battles. Also Hanuman didn't fight with him using weapons. He fought with rocks, trees and brute force which Akshaya might not have expected. Coming to Brahmastra you need to understand I didn't want to kill him with it. I just wanted to capture him. It was with that instruction I sent that arrow.

The mess that's created not because Lanka lacks might. It's because father showed mercy to that monkey listening to uncle Vibhishan. Else father would have chopped off his head then and there. You are simply freaking out."

Sulochana removed her husband's hand from her shoulder and she sat straight. " Prince of Lanka, do you believe what you are saying. According to the information I got, Hanuman used his tail to build a throne for himself and sat face to face with father. Do you think such a monkey will simply stand there for your father to cut his head? Fool someone else. You very well know in your heart that Lanka is facing terrible destruction. But you won't go against your father. I understood Prince of Lanka. I understood." Before Meghnadh could pacify her she walked out from the room.

For sometime Sulochana walked aimlessly in the palace. She knew she couldn't go to Mandodari's room. Her mother in law was finally sleeping. She had cried one full night. She had not eaten anything. When her brother in law's funeral was happening she had wanted to jump into that pyre. She blamed herself for not able to stop her husband from kidnapping another man's wife. It was with great effort Sulochana and other queens of Ravan had contained her.

Since she was too weak the palace doctor was called and he gave some medicine which made Mandodari finally fall asleep.

Sulochana didn't want to go to the palace gardens. First most of them were burnt, second whatever was remaining from there all she could see was the burnt houses in Lanka. After thinking for some time she decided to visit uncle Vibhishan.

Vibhishan as usual was doing his evening pooja when he heard footsteps outside. Without turning he asked the visitor to wait outside for some time, he would soon join after completing the pooja.

Sulochana paced impatiently in front of Vibishan's palace for her uncle to come out and was so lost in thoughts that Vibhishan had to call her twice to get her attention. Sulochana turned towards him and smiled in relief.

"Uncle I feel so happy to see you. You are the only sane person in this whole Lanka. I am thankful to you that you saved Lanka from getting another curse. If father had killed a messenger I don't know what all would Lanka had to suffer."

"Sulochana, don't stand outside. Come inside daughter. Tell me how can I help you?"

"Uncle we both know keeping Sita here is dangerous both for Lanka and also for royal family. The more days she is here, we are going to see more women in white. Her shadow will orphan the children of Lanka. Think of something that will make father send back Sita with dignity," pleaded Sulochana.

"Daughter I am not sure brother Ravan will listen to me. He is very angry with me and blames me for what happened in Lanka. He is so confident that Ram cannot come to Lanka. If at all he comes with the army of monkeys Lanka will withstand the attack. Sita is no longer jus his desire, she is his pride and ego. Giving her back means it's like giving away his throne. Brother won't do that."

"Uncle what's the harm in trying. You are wise. You know what's right and what's wrong. You can put forward your points in the right manner in the king's court. Please do it uncle. For the sake of Lanka just try once more to make father agree to sending back Sita," requested Sulochana with tears falling from her eyes.

"Daughter I cannot guarantee whether I will succeed, but I promise you I will try. Now please don't cry. You need to be strong. If you become weak who will handle bhabi," mentioned Vibhishan.

Sulochana wiped her tears and nodded. As she came out from Vibishan's palace somewhere she felt a hope Lanka would be saved.
