Chapter 32

After long time there was happiness and hope in Ayodhya. A messenger has brought the news princess Sita has been located. Hanuman has crossed the ocean, burnt Lanka and had come back with the hair ornament which princess Sita had given him as a proof that he has met her.

Everyone was assembled in Kausalya's room. "Daughter Urmila your instinct was right. Child I cannot tell how much support you are giving to us. Just like you predicted a monkey has reached Sita," mentioned Kausalya caressing Urmila's hair affectionately.

" Mother I have not done anything. This is all happening because of the blessing Ram jeeju gave me. He has given me the strength to be a support to all of you during these tiring times."

" Why wouldn't my Ram bless you Urmila. You were the one who left your husband at his service without a question. The wisdom Rajrishi Janak has imparted to you has made you a wise woman at such a young age. Unfortunately this mother who had nurtured Ram as her own from childhood made him a step son without thinking twice hearing Manthara.

I could have stopped him. How could I even think the son who agreed to go to forest for 14 years without a frown would treat me a step mother if he gets power. I am the cause of my son's suffering and you are the one who has given him the solace when he needed the most," lamented Kaikeyi.

" Mata don't glorify my sacrifice. I only followed the footsteps of Mata Sumitra and my Sita didi. If Mata Sumitra can let go of her son and if my didi can go to forest leaving behind all the comforts of the palace, I too have to do something right. How could I allow my parents to be just proud of Sita didi. I want them to be proud of me too," replied Urmila.

" Don't take the credit alone Urmila. My sacrifice is also nothing less. I have also fortified the crown with my own free will. I am also princess of Mithila," chipped in Mandavi making faces.

" Why nobody cares for me, is it because my sacrifice is small compared to others. I had not shouldered any responsibility from childhood. I always had my sisters standing up for me. Does anyone think being a stand up queen an easy job? I have not known rest for days. One issue after other comes up. Even at night I and my husband only discuss the problems of Ayodhya. We don't want any complaint from Ram jeeju and Sita didi that we didn't take care of Ayodhya in the best possible manner in their absence," Kirti was almost in tears.

The mothers hugged all the girls together. " Mandavi, Kirti who told your sacrifice has been less. We are proud of all of you children. Infact the whole of Mithila should be proud of their princesses. If the princes of Ayodhya are examples of brotherhood, you girls are perfect examples of sisterhood," told Kausalya kissing their foreheads.

" Princes of Ayodhya has the same father, but your sisterhood is much more beautiful than that girls. Sita is Raja Janak's foster daughter. Still you all consider her your elder sister. Urmila has never demanded Sita's place. Mandavi and Kirti are the cousins for Sita and Urmila. But all four of you move together as if you are blood sisters," chipped in Kaikeyi.

" Yes children your love is the biggest proof that debunks the myth blood is thicker than water. The way you have stood for each other is remarkable," commented Sumitra.

"Children its night, have a good rest today," told Kausalya dispersing the assembly.

Urmila came back to her room. She removed the curtains and felt the wind on her face. She knew her husband would be a happy person having received information on Sita didi. She wanted to send him message that only the first step has been crossed, there were more hurdles before they can bring back Sita didi. So he has to be always on alert and support Ram jeeju if he feels low.

Lakshman sat by the fire. Hanuman too was by his side. Both of them were looking at Ram who was sleeping.

" Hanuman I cant thank you enough for your bravery. From the time my brother has received that hair ornament of bhabi he is at peace. However I couldn't talk to you then because of all euphoria. I want to ask you now. How is my bhabhi? Did she enquire about me?"

"Prince Lakshman I want to tell you one thing. Mother Sita is very much worried about you and your health. She was telling again and again Lakshman won't eat properly in my absence. She has particularly asked you to eat well. One more thing Prince Lakshman, mother has asked you to forgive her for the harsh words she spoke to you that day," replied Hanuman.

"Hanuman I should be asking her forgiveness that I took those words seriously. I should have understood her concern as a wife. We cant change what happened. We can only think what needs to be done now, " sighed Lakshman and suddenly the fire began to flicker in the wind. Lakshman and Hanuman tried to protect it from extinguishing but it continued to flicker.

" Whats this Prince Lakshman, how come suddenly a strong wind," exclaimed Hanuman.

It was then Lakshman realized it was the message from Urmila asking them to be cautious.

" Hanuman this is the message from my wife. She is asking me don't lose focus just because we located Sita bhabhi. I am replying to her that she should not worry. Now her husband is not alone. He has Hanuman with him. Her husband's burden is halved," concluded Lakshman and the flickering stopped.

"Prince Lakshman I have not met Devi Urmila. But seeing the way the message came I have to tell you have a very chaste and loving wife. Let me send my salutations also to her," mentioned Hanuman and Lakshman smiled.

In Ayodhya as Urmila lay on the bed first a breeze kissed her forehead and she understood her husband have received the message. Sometime later she felt the wind touching her feet as if saluting her. She didn't understand the meaning first. Then she understood, it was Hanuman sending salutations to her. Her mind was at peace, her husband trusted Hanuman. With this salutation he had brought peace to her mind also. She felt sure that with Hanuman by their side Ram jeeju and Sumitranandan would surely win the war.
