Commander Medusa
A series of bullets started to fire at me, having me drop the head and run towards the kid who was doing his homework.
Multiple bullets were shot in me by the time I was finally able to reach him. I grabbed him and quickly turned the table over, using it as my shield.
Shit! Those baboons ruined my clothes! And this fucking table won't last long!!
"Stop shooting!" I yelled back at the men.
Have they not realized that their boss's kid was down here?!
By the way that they're still shooting means that they're not loyal to Sola. They'd kill her kid with no mercy.
Oh Poseidon, you're child loving traits have been passed down to me. I hate it.
Moving my hand to cover the boy's face, I poked my head over the table and looked at the small crowd before me.
The first guy who fell victim of my eyes, stopped shooting. Seconds later they all stopped shooting, by the last sound of a bullet dropping...they all were stone.
I closed my eyes, and calmed my wildly beating heart. There's no way, I'll still get to walk freely ever again.
Pretty sure that I gain enemies each day that I live.
I let go of the kid and stood up, at a time like this I wished Vissi was here.
The staircase that lead up to a closed cellar door was my way out.
I can't go up the staircase that lead up into the house. If I show my face, I'll only get hurt again.
Time for me to go.
~
I returned to the house that I first visited since I've been here. There was nothing for me to do but to sulk in my mistakes.
It was better when I didn't interrupt Zain and Ant's lives. At least I was still loved when they thought I was dead.
My bottom met the couch's cushion seats, and my legs rose to sit on the coffee table. I sat back and put my head back, then I closed my eyes...ready to relive another terrible memory.
~
"Hey! Don't kill them! They're just fucking kids!" I yelled out as I pushed past my peers to get to the front of the scene.
The professor had sent the entire Division on a mission to wipe out a small poor village somewhere in Egypt. He wanted something that was enriching the very grounds that the village was standing on.
We found a piece of a meteorite, the size of a basketball under the Egyptians local temple.
We had to destroy the temple in order to dig under it and get the rock.
That mission was the most important mission to the professor, he even had to wake Death up for it.
Not only did I get my ass beat by Death that day, but it was also the day I had undergo the most intense procedure that the professor has ever put me through.
All I tried to do was live up to Poseidon's example and not hurt any kids, but it only lead to me putting myself in a far worse situation.
After we had killed off the adults in the village, we rounded the children up. I expected everyone in the Division to let them go or wipe their memories.
But I saw different. Death had withdrew both his swords and pointed them at the children. The rest of the Division and I stood behind him, and nearly everyone was shitting their pants.
Everyone knew that what he was about to do was wrong, but no one said anything...until I did.
After my outburst, I challenged the guy to a fight and he was obviously no match for me. Death handed me the most gruesome ass whopping that day.
Brutally broken ribs? Check
Broken fingers? Check
One less of a leg? Check
No spine? Check
I've never been so ready to die, but I was once again awoken under the lights of the operating table.
I remember the professor being extraordinarily happy that day.
"Patient 1102, you will by far be my greatest solider. The other Divisions don't have anything or anyone as powerful as I'm about to make you." He said happily as he stood in my eye's range with a scalpel in his hand.
The particles that made up the meteorite was used to make some sort of purple fluid. The Professor injected that fluid into me before reestablishing my wounds and lost limps.
Then he put me in a large tube and unleashed hell upon me.
I felt myself being swallowed by a pit of fire. All areas of my body was heating up to the extent of my skin being burnt off.
My eyes were shut closed, but I was able to see a blinding bright light. It was so bright, even with my eyes closed I couldn't look away the from it's shimmering sight.
The light too was a pain, it burnt my eyes deep to its core. I felt the small gift in my eyes being diminished and has been reestablished twice as hurtful.
What happened, you ask? Well I don't know.
I was able to do absolutely nothing, but take the pain. The consistency of my screams lasted about 2 hours and a half before I was out.
I thought I had died, but as before and the time before that, the professor made sure that I was still alive.
By the next day, I didn't feel a thing.
When it was lunchtime, all the Units met in the cafeteria to eat. Obviously, I heard the little side comments on how I deserved the punishment that the professor had given me.
I couldn't even take a sip of my apple juice without someone saying anything. My Unit knew that it bothered me, it was like we were all emotionally connected.
But what could we do? We were the weakest. I tried to stand up and look at what happened to me.
"1102, it's been almost 2 years since you've been here. When will you get your ability?" I heard Echo say to me.
She was the Commander and the strongest of us all. Not only that, but she was also my greatest tormentor.
I heard that the professor was planning on mating her with Death. Unfortunately, she was infertile ending the rise of the most powerful being to ever live.
That kid would come out twice as deadly as both of its parents. The ability to produce sonic waves and decay anything it touches would make it a badass.
Beast dropped his spoon, "Come on Echo, she's had a long day yesterday. Give her a break." He said as he defended me.
She slammed Beast's head into his food, "It's Commander Echo to you!" She yelled.
Poor Beast was once again humiliated for being the biggest yet weak in the Division. I pity myself and my Unit, and it was only a matter of time before I switched.
The feeling of my mindset withdrawing and Jade presenting herself erupted in me.
I felt at ease a little knowing that I don't have to fully be present for anymore of this abuse.
Surprising all Jade did was stare at Echo, resulting to her looking at us. And in a instant, Echo was turned to stone.
I internally screamed as Jade stood up to throw her leftovers away and definitely taking the chance to shatter Echo into pieces.
It was on that day that I've first used my powers.
