It was weekend and she had few days off from college as the students were having their reading time holidays. She was getting bored so thought to visit her home and see how they are doing specially Megha. So she went in her in-laws room to inform them and also ask them both to join her.

When she reached the room and was about to knock, she heard her mother in law's voice so she decided to wait outside till she complete the call. But when she heard her name and Namit's voice as Kavita had kept her phone on speaker, her curiosity peeked and she got more closer to the door to know what mother and son were talking. Namit had not called her since last night. Even didn't picked up her calls or replied her messages and now he got time to call his mother. Not fair thought Neha pouting! She was not a person who heard other's conversations. But then when she heard her name she couldn't stop herself.

Kavita was unknown that Neha was outside of their room hearing her so continued to speak with Namit without a care if anyone hears or not. Yash was asking her to speak slowly but she was so engrossed that she didn't paid any heed to him.

Kavita : Namit did you talked to Neha today? She was waiting for your call today also....

Namit : Mom I want to surprise her by my arrival so didn't spoke to her but you didn't said a word about my return to her right?

Kavita : Of course not beta why would I spoil your surprise but yes I was feeling very bad to see her constantly looking at her phone waiting for your call. Atleast you could have messaged her once

Namit : Don't feel bad mom because when she will see me in person the happiness on her face will be worth it.

Kavita : Yeah yeah whatever! When will you reach?

Namit : Tomorrow morning..

Yash : Son I will come to pick you up from airport

Namit : No dad don't bother just send the car and driver. It will be fine

Yash : But Namit......

Namit cut him in between : Dad I am coming home only and also driver is there to pick me up then why are you stressing yourself

Yash sighed : Fine I will send a car alright!!!

Namit : Thanks dad and please see that mom doesn't blabber anything in front of Neha.

Kavita annoyingly : I heard that Namit...

Namit chuckled : Good mom. Now bye my flight is announced. Will meet you all tomorrow

Yash : Bye beta. Have a safe journey and see you soon. Take care

After disconnecting the call, Kavita and Yash got engrossed in their own talks but Neha was rooted to the ground. Namit was coming! Her husband was finally coming!! Her Namit!!! Ohh my god she felt like jumping. After two and half months she would see him. But he told this to mom and dad but not her. Then she remembered "surprise" word. Ok so he wanted to surprise her. She grinned wickedly when she thought something. How about spoiling his surprise and giving one to him. She had decided to make his arrival back memorable and now when she came to know that he is finally coming back, can she leave this chance? The answer was HELL NO!

But what will she do. She need to think something really special and fast also. So she instead of going in her in-laws room went back to her room to think something out of the box. Neha was pacing back and forth but no ideas were coming. She sighed in frustration when suddenly an idea popped up in her mind and she jumped and fisted in air excitedly. Now she need to arrange everything quickly.

She went downstairs to inform her in-laws that she was going out to meet her friends and will be back in evening. Then she drove off to arrange her surprise.

Namit collected his last bag and came out of airport. He breathed the air and smiled widely. Finally! He is back home. He looked around and saw the people. He liked living in the hustling and bustling of Mumbai city. He looked around to see their driver and saw him coming towards him. The driver took his luggage and Namit sat at the backseat as he was tired from a long journey.

Driver : Sir the road towards your house is blocked due to some construction work going on so we have to take the other route.

Namit frowned : But that route will take almost two hours..

Driver : Yes sir but it's early morning so traffic won't bother us much. Meanwhile you can sleep till we reach Saxena mansion.

Namit dozzed off as soon as they left the airport. Continuous work last week had left him tired and he thought to take a nap till they reach home.

Driver woke him up when they finally reached. He stretched his hands as he got out of the car feeling better after the nap. He spotted Yash and Kavita on the foyer entrance waiting for him with big smiles plastered on their faces.

Namit asked the driver to take his luggage in the house whereas he sprinted towards his parents. He bowed down to touch their feet and then hugged one by one. All his tiredness flew away seeing the happiness on his parents face. He knew they both must have been awake whole night waiting for him.

Kavita wiping her tears : It's so good to finally see you home Namit. I missed you so much beta....

Namit : I missed you too mom. Don't cry now. See I am back.... Treat me with your yummy alooparatha today for breakfast ok

Kavita chuckled and nodded her head.

Yash : Namit my boy it was hard to handle your mom. You see she has no filter over her mouth.

Kavita chided : Yash enough ok I didn't spill anything to Neha

Yash and Namit both laughed seeing Kavita's annoyed expression.

Namit : Dad I missed you too.

Yash : Me too son but now you are back. Can't ask for more.

Namit : Mom where is Neha?

Kavita : Ohh yes she came in our room this morning to give my saree. Actually she had gone shopping with her friends yesterday and bought few gifts for me and your dad but forgot to give us. Must be taking a shower right now I guess.....

Namit : Ok will you mind if I freshen up in your room. I need a shower right away.

Yash : No problem son you take our bathroom and I will use guest bathroom.

Namit : Sure dad? I can also use the one in guest room....

Yash : No Namit I will be fine. Now go and freshen up... Neha will be downstairs soon.

Namit hurried in his parents room for a shower and after feeling fresh, he got dressed in casual jeans and a button down shirt. He was setting his hair when his mother walked in

Kavita looking at him : I thought you will shave your beard....

Namit grinned : No compromise with it mom. You know I like my beard. Looks so manly....

Kavita : You mean to say those who don't have beard like you are not manly?

Namit : I am not saying that but hey that's their choice. Now everyone can't look so hot and handsome in beard like your son right mom?

He said last part winking which made Kavita laugh

Kavita : Absolutely my son is one of the most handsome man in the world

Namit laughed at his mother's praising and went to hug her : Mom I really missed all these.

Kavita lovingly caressed his back : Me too but now you are here so no worries

Namit left her and went out of the room followed by his mother. He saw his father already showered and dressed reading newspaper. He went in kitchen but no one was there except their cook.

Namit : Mom has Neha not yet come downstairs? She doesn't take this much time in shower.

Kavita looked upwards towards her room but the door was still closed : Yeah she doesn't take so much time. Maybe she would have got a call or something. Why don't you go to your room and check? Surprise her there in private.

Namit glared playfully at his mother for teasing him but nevertheless he hurried towards their room. When he reached their room, he knocked but the door was open from inside. So he went and looked around. A feeling of nostalgia hit him when he entered. Now along with him, he could feel Neha's essence also in his room. It was no more only his room like every time he returned for holidays. It was now his and Neha's room and this realisation made him feel content.

He looked around but couldn't see her in their room. He checked the washroom, walk in closet, balcony but she was not seen anywhere. He called out her name but no response. This was so unlike her but then his gaze felt upon a package. It was his favourite brand jeans, shirt and blazer along with a note.
Welcome back husband. Sorry for not receiving you at home but need to make your arrival memorable. So freshen up, have your breakfast and then wear this and come to me. Driver knows where to take you. See you soon.
