Neha came home after a long tiring day at work. Now she was promoted to principal of her college which poured more responsibility on her shoulders. But her tiredness went away in a blink seeing the smiling faces of Yash and Kavita who were eagerly waiting for her.

Kavita switched off the TV seeing Neha and Yash moved a little to make space for Neha to sit besides him.

Kavita : Why late today Neha?

Neha : Cultural program preparation maa... I hope it gets over soon....

Yash : We missed you during our evening tea..

Neha : Sorry papa will try to come home early tomorrow. By the way where are the two devils? Why the house is so silent today?

Kavita shrugged : They both are in their rooms doing something. Today they two straight away left for their rooms after coming from school. Even didn't do any mischief today...

Neha frowned : That's strange. Let me go and check....

Kavita : Beta Namit called before you came. He said he will be late...

Neha nodded her head and went in Krish's room to check on him. He was more notorious than Anaya so she thought to check on him first. When she reached the door and was about to knock, she heard faint voices of brother sister and she peeped in silently to hear what they were talking.

Anaya : Bhai what will we do now? Mam will surely call mummy daddy tomorrow.....

Krish : Anu stop whinning and start thinking.

Anaya : I should not have trusted you. You promised that you will just talk.

Krish glared at her : What do you expect me to do when someone is threatening my sister. Thank me that I just punched him.

Anaya : Don't forget black eye you gave him. Moreover it's fine that you beat the shit out of him but why you didn't confront that bitch.....

Neha who was silently listening to their conversation said in a raised voice : Anaya Saxena just watch your language girl.

Krish and Anaya gulped looking at each other and gave a sheepish smile to their mother.

Neha raised her eyebrow : What's the matter?

Anaya giggled nervously : Nothing mummy we were just.....

She looked at Krish for help but he was looking at the door as if ready to run any moment.

Neha : You were just???????

Krish tried to divert the topic : Hey my lovely mom how come you late today??

Neha : I know what are you trying to do my naughty son so just spill the beans because you know I have my ways.....

Krish : No mom it's really nothing!!

Neha : Ok then tomorrow I will drop you two to your school. That way I will even meet your madam and see your both's progress...

Anaya gave a horrified look to Krish : No mummy you don't come

Neha : Why?

Krish : Mom did dad come home?

Neha : Not yet so you two tell me the deal before he comes...

Krish : Ok but please listen to us with calm mind. Me and Anu had a fight today at school.

Neha frowned but asked him to continue.

Krish : Actually there is a basket ball match next Friday. I was practising it with my team in the court when I saw one boy from my class talking with Anu. When I asked her, she told me that he was telling her to warn me to leave his sister alone or he won't spare Anu.

Neha's eyes widened : Krishu you are dating his sister??

Krish : No no I am not that foolish mom. His sister is one of the most annoying and pathetic...

Neha scolded him : Krish talk respectfully for any girl.

Krish : Sorry mom but she is so irritating.

Anaya chirped in between : She is asking Bhai to date her since one year mummy but Bhai said she is not his type....

Neha glared at Krish and he glared at Anaya.

Neha : Krishu you are just fourteen. No dating and gf-bf stuff till twenty one.

Krish rolled his eyes at his mother's possessiveness and overprotectiveness.

Krish : I am not dating her. When her brother came to know about me, she lied to him that I asked her to be my GF. He told me to stay away from his sister but I told him instead to keep his sister in check and not bother me.

Neha : So???

Anaya : But still she didn't leave Bhai alone and today her brother came to me to tell Bhai to stay away from his sister as she is still lying that Bhai is following her. She is so evil mummy.

Krish : Well i would have been ok if her brother had again talked to me regarding this but how dare he brought Anu in between and threatened her. I punched him in his stomach and eye but mam saw us and came in between.

Anaya : I tried to stop him mummy but it's not entirely bhai's fault. When I told Bhai about everything he promised me that he will just talk to that boy but he made Bhai angry by speaking nonsense.

Neha : Then you should have told me or your daddy. What was the need for you to fight beta?

Krish : Mom he was speaking nonsense and I couldn't control myself anymore. I swear I just went to speak with him and tell him not to bring Anu in between. He infuriated me.

Neha opened her arms and both the kids went and hugged her. She kissed both their forheads.

Neha : First of all, you will always get such people in life Krishu but you can't act so irrationally with everyone. Think of all the consequences before you do anything ok. And if you face any problem then your parents are there for you beta. You could have let us know about all these and we could have talked with that girl and your mam.

Krish : Sorry mom next time I will tell you...

Neha : And Anu beta me and your daddy didn't taught you such colorful language right?

Anaya bit her tongue : Sorry mummy I won't speak such words next time.

Neha : You two understand that me and your dad are always with you kids. We are there to guide you and help you in your life. For now just focus on your studies and sports okay?

Krish and Anaya : Ok mummy

Neha : And promise that you both won't hide anything from us next time.

Krish and Anaya : Promise!!

Neha : Now tell about all this when your daddy comes ok?

Anaya : But why mummy?

Krish : Yes mom next time it won't happen. Please don't tell Dad about it.

Before Neha could say anything he heard Namit's voice from downstairs and from his voice, he seemed angry.

Namit : Krish, Anaya come down right now!

All three went downstairs and saw a furious looking Namit along with confused Kavita and Yash.

Krish and Anaya gripped Neha's hand and pleaded through their eyes for help. Neha blinked reassuring them that she is with them.

Neha : Namit listen it's not....

Namit gestured her to stop : Don't Neha!

He turned his attention back to his kids and folded his arms across his chest.

Namit : I got a call from your school today and I heard about today's events. Do you two have anything to say in that specially you Krish.

Krish kept his silence whereas Anaya tried to divert the topic.

Anaya : No daddy they are lying....

Namit roared in anger : I want truth

Krish gulped : Dad I am sorry. I didn't intend to do that and I was even trying to keep Anu out of this.

Neha gripped Namit's hand to calm him down : Namit first listen to them.

Namit gestured Krish to narrate everything and he and Anaya told their father.

Namit sighed : What was the need to do all these son. You could have said me and I would have put a stop to it. And I even heard Anu you were cussing that girl.

Anaya hung her head low : Sorry daddy.

Namit : Next time I don't want you two to behave like this. Am I clear?

Krish and Anaya nodded their heads and again apologised to Neha and Namit.

Namit : Alright now come on give me hug kiddos.

This brought a smile on their faces and they both hugged Namit from either side.

Anaya : Love you daddy.

Namit kissed her nose : Love you too my princess. Krishu beta I had reassured your mam that this won't happen next time. Don't let me down ok?

Krish : I won't dad. I promise.

Neha, Kavita and Yash smiled at him. After dinner, everyone retired to their rooms. Neha was waiting for Namit to join her in bed. He came after changing in his night wear and slept besides Neha.

Namit : You knew about what happened in school?

Neha : Nah I heard them both whispering when I went to their room this evening.

Namit chuckled : Our children are really handy aren't they?

Neha giggled : Yes they are. But I was happy knowing how Krish and Anaya stood for each other today.

Namit : Yes they both can fight all they want but in times of need, they are always there for each other. I am proud of them.

Neha : I still wish they were babies. They are growing up and soon will get involved in their lives.

Namit : That's life sweetheart. But we know that they will always love us.

Neha : Yes I know and I love them so much.

Namit : Me too. But hey it's not fair. What about me?

Neha smiled : I love you my babies daddy.

Namit : I love you too my babies mommy..
