Chapter 15
"Our trip to Texas this time will be so much better than last time." Kirstie says as she packs their suitcases.
"Yeah, Jenika won't be with us." Patch says with a chuckle.
"Oh, I'm sure she'll make a point to show her ass. But at least, Tim won't have to deal with what he did last time." The blonde says. "He'll have Chance for support."
"When will we be leaving?" Patch asks.
"Tomorrow morning. This time we're taking the RV. Tim and Chance packed all their stuff before leaving for Mobile. They'll be back tonight." Kirstie says after she zips up Patches's suitcase and lays Dag on top of it.
"I feel bad that Tim and Chance will have to do all the driving. Last time, there were three drivers." Patch says before heading to the closet to get the other luggage.
"I mean, I can drive but I've never driven anything that big before. I'd be scared to death." Kirstie says as she begins to fold the clothes they were taking.
"I can't help. It scared the crap out of me just driving for five minutes when Tim got arrested." Patch says as he sits down on the bed.
"Well, that won't happen this time. He doesn't drink anymore." Kirstie smiles as she thinks of the incident. "That was one wild night."
"Ms. Dena knows we're coming, right?" Patch says.
"Yeah, but she doesn't know about Chance. She's gonna be so happy that they are back together." Kirstie nods.
"She's a sweet lady." Patch comments.
"Mommy, I'm finished packing." Emily says as she skips into the room and climbs into her daddy's lap. "Can we leave now?"
"We'll be leaving in the morning, Sweetie." Kirstie answers as she zips the last suitcase.
"We can't leave without your uncles and Adam." Patch chuckles. "After all, your uncles will be doing the driving."
"Oh, that's right." Emily giggles. She had learned sign language very well and was able to know what her dad was saying. "Are we taking Mack and Satchmo?"
"Of course, they're part of the family too." Kirstie smiles. "Which reminds me, I need to go to the store and get some dog food and some supplies for the RV."
"Emily and I can clean out the Rv while you're gone." Patch says.
"YAY!!" The little girl claps.
"You might want to open the windows to let it air out. It's been closed up for a while." Kirstie says as she gets her purse, phone and keys.
"Do you want me to put the luggage in there?" Patch asks before standing with his daughter and putting her feet on the floor.
"You can put ours but I need to check Emily's first." Kirstie says.
"Oh, Ye of wittle faith, mommy." Emily sasses as she walks out of the room, twisting her hips.
"She's your daughter." Patch laughs before picking up their luggage.
"She's Patches's sister." Kirstie giggles as they head out of the bedroom.

"You're awfully quiet. You still nervous about seeing my mom?" Chance asks as he drove down the highway.
"We had to get up way too early this morning." Tim says with a yawn.
"What about the part of meeting mom?" Chance chuckles.
"Oh, I'll be alright." Tim says, giving his lover a smile. "Just be prepared to pull over if I need to throw-up."
"Do I know yo mommy, Chance?" Adam asks from the backseat. (your)
"I think you've met her before, Sweetie, but it was a long time ago." Chance answers.
"Oh, otay. Are we almoth dare?" Adam asks. He was getting hungry and Tim had told him that there would be a lot of food there. (okay, almost there?)
"Yep. We'll be there really soon." Chance answers with a nod.
"Good. I'm kinda getting hungry." Tim says as he stares out across Mobile Bay. "I hope there is something there that I can eat."
"Oh, I'm sure of it. My aunt is on the same diet you're on and she always brings a lot of food to these reunions." Chance says as he makes the turn to Daphne.
Fifteen minutes later, they were pulling up into the yard where at least a dozen more cars were parked. Folding tables were set up in the back yard, lined with all sorts of food. There were coolers setting on the ground full of soft drinks, others full of beer. Several jugs of sweet tea were placed on one of the tables.
Children were running around the yard playing while the adults stood around talking. Getting reacquainted with loved ones that they haven't seen in years.
Tim slowly gets out of the car as he eyes the crowd. Some he thought he recognized but there were a lot of new faces.
"CHANCE!!" Kristie calls out as she hurries over to greet them.
"Hey, mom." Chance smiles as he hugs her tightly.
Tim reaches out for Adam's hand and pulls him closer. He honestly didn't know how all these kids would treat Adam.
Kristie turns around and smiles as she walks up to Tim.
Tim really didn't know what to expect. He prepared himself for a slap across the face. But instead, she gently places a hand on each side of his face.
"Tim." She says softly. "You're still just as handsome as I remember."
Tim smiles shyly as his cheeks blush.
"I'm sorry about what happened to your marriage but I'm so happy that you guys found your way back to one another." She says with a soft smile.
"Thank you. I am too." Tim smiles as he glances around at Chance.
"Hi, lady. I'm Adam." Adam says as he steps up next to Tim.
"Oh, my lord." Kristie says as she takes Adam by the hand and gives Tim a shocked look. "This is little Adam?"
"Yep." Tim answers with a smile.
"Lady? Am I thuppose to call you gandma like I do gandma Dena?" Adam asks as he puts his arms behind his back and sways back and forth like an innocent child.
"Sweetie, you can call me anything you want but my name is Kristie." Kristie smiles as she gently tugs on his long hair.
"Dats too hawd. I'll call you Memaw." Adam smiles and nods.
"Then Memaw it will be." Kristie says. "You boys hungry?"
"Tarved." Adam answers with a nod.
"Mom? Is Aunt Jill still on the Keto diet?" Chance asks as they walk to where the food was located.
"Yeah, why? Are you on a diet?" Kristie asks.
"No mam, I am." Tim replies.
"You? But you look so thin." Kristie says.
"I wasn't though." Tim laughs. "I had gotten pretty fat."
"You were not fat." Chance says, shaking his head.
"Okay? Plump." Tim chuckles. "I've lost about twenty pounds."
"Well, you look great." Kristie smiles as she proudly slips her arms around her son and his boyfriend as they join the rest of the family.
A great time was had by all at the reunion. Adam had so much fun playing with the other children. They were all extremely nice to him and welcomed him in all their games.
I wish y'all could stay longer. I have plenty of room." Kristie says as she hugs her son.
"We'd love to, mom. But we have to head out bright and early in the morning for Texas." Chance replies.
"Tim? How's your mom? I haven't talked to her in so long." Kristie says as she hugs the brunette.
"As sassy as ever." Tim chuckles.
"Does she know that you two are back together?" She asks with a smile.
"No." Tim answers, shaking his head. "We're wanting to surprise her."
"You know your mom actually never cared too much for Jenika, right?" She asks with a raised brow.
"Yeah, I know." Tim nods. "She has always been a good judge of character. I should have listened."
