!!! HOW ABOUT A DOUBLE !!!

"We have a birthday, April 17th. What else do we need in order for him to get a birth certificate and Social Security number?" Tim asks.

"Well, he has his mother's name to go on the birth certificate. The father's name is actually optional. He'll have to have a name, of course." Morgan says.

"Patch is my name. Charlie gave it to me." Patch says. 

"Patch Roberts?" Morgan asks.

Patch quickly shakes his head no.

"I don't want her last name." Patch says. "I don't want anything from her."  

"But, Son, you don't know who your father was." Morgan says.

Patch thought for a moment.

"Mr. Freeman? Do you know anything about Old Charlie?" Patch asks. "He was the only father I ever knew."

"Sure, who didn't know Old Charlie." Morgan chuckles. "His name was Charles Kaplan. He was a WW2  veteran."

"Patch Kaplan." Patch says with a smile.

"Got a nice ring to it." Tim says with a smile.

"All you have to do is go to the Social Security office and file for a birth certificate. And in a couple of weeks, you'll get it in the mail along with a Social Security card." Morgan says.

"That's it?" Tim asks with a surprised tone.

"That's it." The detective chuckles. "It'll help if you take copies of some of this information with you."

Morgan types out all the information that they would need including the estimated birth date, signs it and gives it to Patch.

"Good luck, Mr. Patch Kaplan." He smiles and shakes Patch's hand.

** A/N Pretty sure that's not how it's done. lol **

The lady at the Social Security office read over the letter Detective Freeman had sent and began the application.

"Your name, Sir?" She asks as she typed.

"Patch Kaplan." He signs. Kevin again interpreting.

"Date of birth is listed by Mr. Freeman as April 17, 1989. Is that correct?" She asks.

Patch nods with a smile.

"Mother's name?" Was asks.

Patch shakes his head.

"Are you sure?" Kevin whispers and Patch gives a firm head nod.

"Uh, he was abandoned at childbirth." Kevin answers.

"Alright. What about a father's name?" She asks.

"Charles Kaplan." Patch answers.

The lady finishes filling out the application and hands it over to Patch.

"All we need is your signature." She says as she points to the line and hands him a pen.

Patch looks nervously around at Kevin and Tim.

"Uh, he doesn't know how to write." Tim informs her.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you know how to make an X?" She asks.

Patch shakes his head.

"It's like this." She says as she shows him how to make an X.

He picks up the pen and makes an X on the paper.

She then hands the paper to Kevin and Tim to sign as witnesses.

"Alright. I'll fax this in and in about two weeks you will be receiving your birth certificate and Social Security card." She says with a smile as she continues to type on the computer.

After a few minutes, she receives a fax and she goes to get copies. She comes back and hands Patch a brown manila envelope.

"What's that?" Tim asks.

"That's a copy of the birth certificate and S.S. card. He'll get the original ones in the mail." She says with a smile.

"That's it?" Tim asks with a smile.

"Yes, Sir. That's it." She smiles.

Patch jumps up and grabs the lady into a hug.

"Congratulations." She laughs as she hugs him.

"I think that's the one we need to look at." Jenika says as she and Kirstie have been checking out houses all day on the computer.

"Me too. Plenty of bedrooms and I love that huge kitchen." Kirstie nods.

"And it's on da beach." Adam smiles as he leans between them.

"And it's on the beach." Jenika giggles and kisses him on the cheek.

The front door flies open and Patch comes running in followed by Kevin and Tim.

The startled girls almost jump out of their chairs.

"Oh, you guys finally got through with your secret business?" Jenika asks.

"Yep." Tim says as he sits down on the couch. "We have a surprise."

"Well, we have a surprise too." Kirstie says with a smirk.

"Oh, our's is definitely better." Tim smiles as he leans back and puts his hands behind his head. "Patch, give them the surprise."

Patch grins as he hands the envelope to Kirstie.

"What is this?" Kirstie asks with a puzzled look.

"Well, you won't know until you open it." Kevin laughs.

She quickly opens the envelope and pulls the papers out so she and Jenika could read them. Her mouth drops.

"Oh. My. God." Jenika says slowly.

Kirstie looks up at Patch in shock. Patch smiles and nods.

She screams as she jumps up from the computer and runs to her boyfriend's open arms.

"Well, looks like Mr. Patch Kaplan has a birthday coming up in a couple months." Jenika smiles as she continues to read.

"Jen Jen?" Adam asks, lightly tapping Jenika on the shoulder. "Who's is Patch Kapan?"

"Sweetie, Patch now has a last name." Tim smiles. "Kaplan."

"So ... So does dat mean Patches last name is Kapan, too?" Adam smiles.

"Yeah, I guess it does." Tim nods.

"Baby, I'm so happy." Kirstie cries as she hugs Patch tightly.

Patch buries his face in Kirstie's neck as he finally lets tears of joy flow down his cheeks.

"Who's Charles Kaplan?" Jenika asks.

"Old Charlie?" Kirstie asks and Patch nods. "I'm sure he's smiling down on you."

"This calls for a celebration." Tim says as he, himself, wipes a tear. "Dinner at the finest restaurant in New York. My treat."

"Don't you guys want to hear our surprise?" Jenika asks after she gives Patch a hug. "Of course, your surprise was definitely better."

"Sure. What's your surprise?" Tim asks as Jenika sits down beside him.

"Oh ... Oh... Can I tell dem?" Adam says with a huge grin.

"The floor is all your's, Mr. Adam." Kirstie smiles as she stands with her arms wrapped around her lover's waist.

"What? Miss Kit, it's Tim's houth so da poor is his." Adam says with a nod. (house so the floor)

"No, what I meant was ...." Kirstie laughs. "Just tell them the surprise."

"We pound a houth on da beach." Adam grins. (found a house on the beach)
