this is my house
CHARLIE
"We should do something tonight." Leah says looking through her closet.
I'm really not in the mood to go anywhere today. It's still bothering me he didn't text back. I'm being ridiculous though, I just thought he would have tried harder.
"What do you have in mind?"
"Well, I was thinking about throwing my own party, inviting certain people. Will you help me?" Her eyes are wide after she winks and she stares at me.
"I've never thrown a party before but sure."
"God Charlie not with the party. Invite Harry for me." I furrow my eyebrows. And immediately want to say hell no but I have no reason to.
"Please." She begs. I hate this, I can't say no but I don't want to say yes.
I force myself to nod my head and grab my phone from my pocket as she jumps around happily. I'm so sorry Harry.
HARRY
"I'll see you later L." I tell my teammate.
As I leave practice my phone buzzes in my gym bag. I grab my phone and throw the rest of my shit in the trunk. I need to get home and clean up.
I get excited when I see a message from Charlie. Which makes my heart race.
Charlie:
Come to a party tonight.
I almost jump to text back, but this is fishy. She's the one who said to not text her again. I need more information though. She will be there, then we could talk.
Me:
Two nights in a row. Someone likes to party.
My stomach tingles with excitement, I'll be able to see her again, in a few hours. I get another message, it's an address.
Me:
I'll be there. I can't wait to see you.
I lick my lips at the thoughts running through my mind.
.
.
I decided to bring a friend of mine to go to the party with me. He never gets out and he needs to.
"Lou!" I yell as he gets in the passenger seat.
"Har!" He matches my enthusiasm.
I laugh as we pull out of his driveway.
"Words been going around that you have a little woman friend." He looks over at me eyebrows raised.
"Where'd you here that?" I hold in a smile.
"You know, the whole team. One of the guys saw you two together at your party."
"She's not my girlfriend. I don't even think she's interested. I really like her though." I feel my cheeks become hot at the thought of her being mine.
"You, crazy over one girl. I have to meet her." We both laugh as we get closer to the house.
.
.
I feel my nerves going crazy as we pull into a driveway full of cars. I could tell this was the place seeing all of the lights and people.
I walked inside, Lou following behind me.
As soon as we hit the kitchen I lost him, he went to get a drink and talk to some girls. I don't really care I'm just looking for someone.
I walk through crowds of dancing people searching for that long blonde hair. I swear I've been walking in circles, she's nowhere. Why would she invite me if she's not even here?
"Harry!" A hand grabs my arm. Finally.
I turn around my smile huge but when my eyes meet blue ones, it falls. That's not who I was expecting.
"I'm so glad you came." Her voice was loud.
"Yeah, um, nice party ..." I point at her trying to remember her name.
"Leah." She finishes for me. Oops.
"Right, Leah. I apologize." I run a hand through my hair. "So, um, is Charlie here? I haven't seen her anywhere."
She scowls up at me. Before anything can be said Louis comes from behind Leah, putting an arm around her shoulder. I shake my head.
"So is this the lucky girl your head over heels for?" Louis laughs as we both stay silent. I run the back of my neck, shit.
"Uh, no. No, wrong girl Lou." Leah rips his arm of her shoulder. She looks at me with watered eyes and storms away.
"What did I say?" Louis asks confused. I shrug my shoulders and continue my search.
.
.
I just might give up if I haven't found her now. I step outside to get some air, there's too many people in there. I find myself leaning against the side of the house, my head cocked back. Tonight was a waste.
"Well hello Harry." That voice, I know that voice.
I look up to the house next door to see a girl eyeing me, the girl I've been looking for all night.
"No, fooking way." I laugh, shuffling over next door to the porch swing she was sitting on. She laughs as I take a seat next to her. She looked so cozy with her sweatpants on.
"What are you doing over here?"
"This is my house." She laughs. Her laugh is perfect.
"Why aren't you enjoying the party?" Her sweet voice asks.
"I would've but I couldn't find the girl I came for." She blushes pulling her knees to her chest.
"I didn't want to invite you, someone told me too."
"Ouch." I laugh. "Let me guess, Leah?"
She nods. "Mhm."
"Oh, that's why she did that."
"Did what?" She sits up her eyebrows furrowed.
"She got angry with me after I told her I was looking for you. And that I'm head over heels for you." I smirk.
Her brown eyes become wide. "No! She's going to hate me. She liked you first, you have to like her not me."
"You don't want me to like you?"
"No. I mean yes, fuck I don't know." Her hands cover her cheeks as she stands up. I laugh at her. She's cute when she swears.
I stand beside her leaning on the railing, studying her. She's so tense.
"Charlie."
"Yeah." She faces me. Her eyes were twinkling, I could stare in them all day.
"Will you go on a date with me?"
