"Kalpana?" I asked, turning around after reaching the house.

Here I was thinking how to explain I know where she lives so easily, but all the thoughts left when I saw her sleeping peacefully.

"Kalpana!" I called again, but she didn't move an inch even when I shook her.

Must be the pain medicine and all the tiredness. I got out of the car and opened the back door before leaning into it.

"Just don't get up until I get you inside." I mumbled and moved my hands to hold her, but stopped when I realized I don't have the house keys.

I immediately looked around for her bag and found it under the seat. Any women will kill the guy if they even open the zipper, but here I am going to search it.

Where is it? I thought continuing my search and finally found the keys. I let a small smile appear on my face seeing the small photo of her and her son's as the key chain before letting it slip away.

"Let's go!" I mumbled and slowly took her in my arms before pulling her out of the car.

However, after reaching the door I realized I cannot open the door with her in my arms. Damn it! What has gotten into you? I thought, cursing myself before walking back to the car and got her inside it.

You are managing a whole company all these years and here you can't manage to get a woman safely into her house. I shook my head and walked back towards the door before unlocking it.

"Again, do not get up until I get you inside." I mumbled before lifting her in my arms and got her out making sure she didn't get hit anywhere.

"I sure hope you will not ask me how you got inside when you get up though." I mumbled and stopped in my tracks realizing I am having a one side conversation here.

"What have you done to me?" I asked, staring at her closed eyes and couldn't remove the frown that occurred on my face, remembering I hated two sided conversations with everyone until now and here I am having one sided.

I shook my head and walked inside the house before looking around to see where her room could be. It was not such difficult task with just two doors to the right side by side where one has some super hero sticker.

"Here we go!" I mumbled, opening the door by the end of the elbow before walking inside.

Placing her carefully on the bed, I looked around to see a normal room with normal colors, but still it seems to have something.

I walked out of the room feeling uncomfortable with that something and reached my car before taking out medicine bag and locked the car properly making sure it is not on the way.

Now what should I do? I thought and took out my mobile. Maybe I should call Pallavi so that she can come here and help her.

But then it will be too much if I do that making her have doubts. Then I remember she has to have something for her to take tablet.

I unlocked the car, realizing I forgot the food parcel. I took it out only to frown, feeling it completely cold.

It is better if she doesn't have some cold food and maybe it is better not to have outside food too. I walked inside the house knowing well, there is another important matter than calling someone.

I glanced inside the room to see her still sleeping and walked inside before covering her with the blanket which I definitely forgot before.

Why are you forgetting everything, Manohar? I thought, shaking my head with full force as if all the things will be done right from now on.

Maybe I should do something about the lunch like I decided. Walking inside the kitchen I can definitely see that all the needed things are there.

Here we go! I mumbled uncuffing my shirt and rolled them back before taking out needed vegetables deciding to get as many vegetables inside her as possible.

"Hello?" I asked, lifting the call after some time when the curry is near to finish and even the rice.

"Bhai! Where are you? And where is she? I was waiting for her, but then came up when she didn't come for the bus." I heard Pallavi's voice.

"I..." I stopped when I heard the doorbell ringing.

"I will call you later." I said, hanging up before walking out of the kitchen turning off the stove and opened her door a little hoping she didn't get disturbed and then walked to the main door before unlocking it.

"Kalpana! What is it? I can't bring both of them like this. I can't handle both of them. I am already tired with the work at the hospital with all the extra work. What I want to say is I am very tired, Kalpana." The person before me just continued to talk from the moment I opened the door and didn't even glanced at me being busy with holding some bags which seems to be filled with groceries.

"Shall I hold them?" I asked when I saw two kids staring at me with wide eyes while she just screamed before stepping back.

"Don't fall!" I immediately holding her hand not wishing to have another person getting hurt because of me.

"You scared me, Mister. Who are you?" she demanded before pulling the two boys to her.

"I am so sorry for the trouble, Jhanvi." We heard a new voice and I immediately turned around to see Kalpana standing near her room door with her injured leg in the air and holding the door as a support.

"What are you doing out of bed?" I asked frowning at her.

"What happened to you, Kalpana?" the woman called Jhanvi said, rushing inside pushing me aside.

"Just a small sprain." She replied before glancing at me with confusion.

"And I am sorry for increasing your work." She added, glancing back at her friend.

"That was just my work talking. You should get back onto the bed." Jhanvi said and I nodded walking near to them.

"I am fine!" Kalpana said, waving her off.

"Umm... Sir! Thank you for bringing me home. I am sorry for your trouble too." She added glancing at me.

"There is no need to thank me, Kalpana. It was because of me in the first place." I said frowning at her.

"It was an accident, Sir." She stressed, but I shook my head.

"Because of him?" Jhanvi asked before I could say anything.

"Just like how I scared you, I scared her Ms.Jhanvi." I replied and she turned to stare at me.

"Who are you?" she asked, frowning at me.

"My boss!" Kalpana replied.

"Right! I am fine with no prefix to my name when her name is being called normally." Jhanvi said and I nodded giving a small smile.

"You need to take a tablet, but before that you need to have some lunch." I said walking towards the kitchen.

"Jhanvi! Sir brought some food, can you give it to me so that he can go on his way?" I heard Kalpana's voice.

"Actually, I threw it outside." I said before taking out the plate to out some rice.

"Okay! We will make something, Sir. Please, I am sure there is important work for you." She said and I walked outside holding the plate.

"I thought you threw the food, Sir." She mumbled frowning.

"I thought it is better if you get something homemade than outside to get well soon." I said, shrugging while she continued to frown at me until we heard a throat clearing.

"She is right regarding I will take care of her. However, can you spare a few more minutes so that I can go home and get him ready and return to be here for the night?" Jhanvi asked and I nodded at her.

She smiled and started walking away holding her son's hand, ignoring Kalpana's head shaking at her.

"Now, have some food." I said, walking near to her and she moved one hand away from the door to hold the plate.

"It is better if you sit down and have the food." I added before continuing to walk towards her making her do as I asked due to which there was some distance between both of us.

"Here we go!" I mumbled placing the plate in her hands along with the spoon.

"I think I heard the words before." She mumbled to which I shrugged and glanced at the door to see her son staring at her with wide eyes.

"Sudhir! I am really fine." She said, but he continued to stare at her.

She waved him inside and he slowly walked inside before sitting beside her. She smiled at him before placing her hand on his cheek.

"You get wound when you fall, right?" she asked to which he nodded.

"Even I got the wound." She added, but he just frowned at her.

"You can't walk." He mumbled, making me clear my throat.

"Even you couldn't walk when you fall in the beginning, right?" she asked giving me a pointed look before glancing back at Sudhir.

"You used to lift me up." He said, nodded and she sighed in relief.

"Who will lift you up?" he asked and I chuckled immediately seeing her expression, making both mother and son frown at me.

"I need no one to lift me, Sudhir." She said smiling at him before turning back to stare at him.

"And if it is needed that someone should lift, then I will." I said before I can stop the words, making both of them to turn towards me and stare with wideness.

"You finish your food, Kalpana." I added and she did calmly but not before throwing me some confused looks and assuring looks at him in between.

"Here!" I said forwarding the tablet when she finished the food.

"Who made the food?" she suddenly asked making me stop from leaving the room to keep the plate away.

"I mean, I just remembered I didn't ask who made it." She added.

"I am forgetting to ask so many things." She said before I can say anything and I wanted to say was 'welcome to the club'.

"I made the food." I said and walked outside before she remembers to ask anything else.

"Thanks for taking care of her." I heard a voice when I turned back to walk towards her room.

"It was my mistake." I said, shrugging and we both walked inside.

"Thank you for your help, Sir." Kalpana said when she saw Jhanvi.

"I will take care of her and I decided to take leave for a few days."Jhanvi said nodding at me.

"No! You are trying for promotion and if you take leave, you will not get it." Kalpna said and covered her mouth when she saw I am still here.

"I mean, sure we will talk about it." She added before glancing at me.

"I will not leave until it is decided that there is someone who can take care of her." I said leaning on the door.

"I will take care of her." Jhanvi said, giving me a curious look.

"I will feel more guilty if you miss the promotion. It is better if you don't put leave." I said and she just stared at me before nodding.

"I will call Pallavi." Kalpana suddenly said and we both turned to stare at her.

"Ms.Pallavi?" I asked and she nodded.

"There is a prefix here?" I heard Jhanvi mumbling which I ignored.

"Fine! However, if anything is needed, then do call me." I said, turning towards Jhanvi knowing well Kalpana will never call me.

"Sure!" Jhanvi said with an amused look.

"And you keep yourself away from putting that leg down." I said, turning back towards Kalpana and she immediately nodded too eager to make me walk away.

I glanced at Sudhir and nodded at him with a small smile which she returned before turning around reluctantly and walked away.

"What?" Pallavi screamed.

"Yeah! And you don't go calling her. She will get doubt regarding how you got to know. As far as she knows, you know nothing. She will call you for help and you go and do it." I replied frowning at the plate.

"What happened?" she asked making me look away from the plate.

"She will call you for help as her friend is needed to be present at the hospital." I replied and sighed.

"You already told me, but why are you disturbed?" she asked, to which I frowned at her.

"Didn't I tell you that it was because of me, she fell?" I asked back.

"These things happen." She mumbled to which I shook my head.

"No! I should have been careful." I said to which she suddenly chuckled.

"If someone hears you, then they will sure think you hit her with your car and not that she fell on the stairs. And please stop taking everything on your head." She said shaking her head.

"Anyway, you need to go and take care of her and make sure she is completely on the bed. And also pack some lunch from the house only. You don't go near the kitchen and poison both of you." I said to which she glared at me.

"I am telling the truth. And also I want her to be free from the pain within two weeks if possible. Which is your duty as she will call you for help." I added.

"Are you jealous that she will call me for help?" she suddenly asked and burst out laughing when I didn't say anything and continued to have my dinner.

"Don't forget any of my instructions." That's all I said, but she smirked at me.

*Jay Pov*

"What do you mean you didn't find her? Is it so difficult to find a woman after you have given all the details?" I screamed at the person before me.

"She is not in that city, Sir." He calmly replied.

"Then search other cities. Let me give you her favorite cities." I said and took out my pen to scribble them.

"Sir! If you let us do our work on our way, then I am sure we can find her soon." He said stopping me.

"Fine! I need results soon." I ordered and he nodded before walking away while I sat back rubbing my forehead.

"Sir?" I heard a hesitant voice.

"What is it? Didn't I tell you to send the bouquet saying again to not disturb me and that it is over? Is she still calling the office phone?" I asked glaring at her.

"It is not her, Sir. But it is your mother and she wants you to come home." She replied and I sighed nodding before standing up to go home.
