Chapter 13

*Kalpana Pov*

"Hello!" feeling startled to hear the voice I glanced away from Sudhir and Harsha to see Jhanvi sitting beside me on the steps.

"Harsha said you will not come." I said explaining my surprise.

"Leave that aside and tell me why didn't you locked the front door." She inquired frowning at me.

"I forgot! And every person in this area keeps an eye on every house. There is no danger." I said, shrugging to which she rolled her eyes.

"So, you talked to Pallavi?" she asked slowly.

"No!" I simply replied, turning back to stare at Sudhir laughing with Harsha.

"You are still angry at her?" she asked and I can hear the shock in her voice.

"Kalpana?" she asked when I kept silent.

"I don't know! One time I feel silly to feel angry and the next moment I am unable to brush. And the other matter is I am ashamed of myself." I replied honestly.

"Why?" she asked, frowning.

"I went over the top with my tone and words. I mean, she wanted to help me and she actually did. You don't know how carefree Sudhir became more than before. It's like he is happy that there is no one else with us." I replied, to which I immediately heard a sigh of relief.

Hearing that would have been fine, but I heard two types of them at the same time making me turn around abruptly only to stare at Pallavi who is staring back at me with a smile.

"I do not mind your tone or words at all, Kalpana. I just want you not take back your friendship." She hurriedly said before pushing both of us aside before settling between us.

"You brought her here?" I asked, glancing at Jhanvi.

"Well, I don't want some rift between my friends." She replied, shrugging and I laughed shaking my head.

"It's not like you have stopped talking with Mr.Manohar." she added in a teasing tone making me glare at her.

"What is happening here?" Pallavi asked, frowning at both of us.

"Seems like we have competition, Pallavi. Our friend is suddenly a friend to your boss." Jhanvi replied and I groaned covering my face.

"Really? And I don't know this because?" Pallavi asked, raising her eyebrow.

"Because it is nothing and we are not friends at all. We are... well, we are just talking." She replied, shrugging, but Pallavi stared at me with a frown not showing any emotion.

"Don't believe her words, Pallavi. She is smiling everyday more than before." Jhanvi said and I immediately hit her shoulder.

"Interesting!" Pallavi mumbled, staring ahead, making Jhanvi frown at her.

"I was sad not talking to you." I said holding Pallavi's hand.

"And Jhanvi we are not kids for this teasing. I mean I am twenty seven years, which is a far cry from teenager teasing." I added staring at Jhanvi.

"Okay! I can accept the elder in the group's privacy." Jhanvi said and I wish I can bang my head on the wall.

Why does she not understand Pallavi's mood? I mean she must be feeling sad that I am being potrayed as happy when I didn't talk to her all these days. And there is also suspicion of her liking him.

"Can we talk something else?" Pallavi asked fidgeting with her hands.

"What is the plan for weekend?" I asked staring at her.

"I am thinking why don't we three meet every weekend at one of our homes whenever we don't have plans or whenever Pallavi don't have plans." Jhanvi suggested.

"That is really a good idea." I said, smiling and turned to see Pallavi frowning at us.

"Actually, we can't meet at our house. My... my Mom is kind of strict." She mumbled and I smiled.

"It is completely fine, Pallavi. We can choose from either Jhanvi's or mine. Of course, if you want to." I added to which she gave me a 'are you kidding me?' look.

"You both are the friends I never had. I would wish to spend as much time as I can. You don't know how important you both are." She said and I smiled hearing the fierce in her tone and hugged her along with Jhanvi.

"You are also a very good friend for us. I mean, if not for you we both would be acting like forty's age group." Jhanvi said and we three burst out laughing.

Who said friendship is the best thing in the world? Well, that person must be embraced with lots and lots of garlands.

*Manohar Pov*

"Good morning, Sir!" I glanced up to see her walking inside the cabin with a smile which started a few weeks back.

"Good morning!" I greeted back stiffly still feeling the impact of the fight at the house.

"Is something wrong, Sir?" she asked and I can imagine her frown.

Yes! Your friend has gone mad! I wanted to shout, but took a long breath before shaking my head, hoping the anger comes out.

How dare of her to start a fight with me saying I am being too close to Kalpana? How dare of her to order me to keep away from Kalpana?

"Are you not feeling well, Sir?" hearing the question I glanced up to see her frowning more with concern covering her face.

Pallavi is more than right! I thought, realizing what I am doing. How can I try to construct this normal passage between both of us?

"Does your work involve in pestering me, Ms.Kalpana?" I asked with a cold voice and she immediately took a step back.

She placed her hand over her temple in an act of brushing away the imaginary hair, which she does when she is scared as far as I know.

"Sorry, Sir!" she mumbled which may not have coldness but definitely have distance.

"This is the schedule for today." She added and started reading out, but my mind just went away thinking I shouldn't feel anything if what I did was correct.

Nothing will come out of this lust that is becoming stronger and it will create more turmoil if acted upon it.

And me acting upon will not be far away if this coldness will not be between us. No matter how much of a bastard, I was called, I can't do this to her.

"Is there anything else, Sir?" she asked, finishing and waited while I stared at her.

Yes! Why don't you smile again? I thought and immediately shook my head. She nodded and left while I slumped back in my chair.

"That's all, gentlemen!" I said, finishing the report and they all clapped while I stayed silent, not wishing to glance at the person sitting a few paces away from me.

"Manohar! Why don't we talk in your cabin?" the client said when everyone stood to leave.

"I will prepare for coffee." Kalpana said before I can order her knowing well, that's what I was going to say like always.

Does she know me too, like I know her? I thought and immediately rolled my eyes at my own foolishness.

She was working for one year and she must have got used to me ordering for coffee whenever a client with to speak to me after the presentation.

"Is there anything else, Sir?" she asked, continuing with a distant mood even today like from the past few days.

"No!" I replied questioning myself was this how it is going to be.

"That is a fine assistant you have." The words reached my ears when I was busy staring at the door after she left making me turn towards the man sitting before me.

"What?" I asked but he has a smirk covering his face.

"Come on! You must have already known. She is quite stunning and well equipped. You know what I mean." He replied winking.

"Do keep those thoughts away from your mind and mouth." I said in a warning tone not caring for him to be a client.

"Possesive are we? She is just an assistant. Who cares what we think? Tell me does she always comes in such normal clothes or is there any chance for some flesh and all." He asked and I immediately stood up.

"Get out!" I said, pointing at the door.

"What?" he asked, standing up.

"I said get out and do not come anywhere near this company." I replied fisting my hands and wishing there don't reach out to punch him like he deserves.

"My company is your potential client." He sneered fuming himself.

"Seems like the base of the company don't have much potentiality." I said to which he glared and walked out slamming the door in the process.

I placed my hands in my hair and let out a shout before throwing the paper weight at the wall making it smash into pieces.

How dare he? I thought moving away from my table and walked towards the window wishing to cool down, but I just walked back to the chair and threw it making it fall.

"Sir?" I heard a shocked tone and turned to see Kalpana standing near the door with eyes widen along with Girish.

"Leave me alone." I shouted and turned away.

I am feeling more angry at myself for feeling this much rage at that man. What am I thinking? I thought, rubbing my temple and moved my hand feeling the vase ear it before lifting it and threw it at the wall.

"Damn it!" I screamed and rubbed my neck.

I turned only to stop in my step to see her standing inside the room near the couch. And to top of that she is just staring at me with a frown.

"I didn't mean for all this." I said, sighing after a few minutes of staring match with her.

Her son will never have a chance of doing some mischievous thing. Her single stare is enough to make a journey of guilt trip.

"I do not mind." She simply said making me frown at her.

"Come on, Ms.Kalpana! Just because I am your boss doesn't mean you need to lie to me when I did something wrong." I said sternly.

"Well, you actually helped me doing this, Sir." She mumbled and this time I stared at her feeling curious.

"What do you mean?" I asked and she gave a small smile.

"All this just means you are after all a human which I started to doubt from the time I joined in this company." She replied and all I could do was just stare with my jaw dropping a little.

"Now, I can be in relief that I am working for a human only." She added with a twinkle in her eyes.

I suddenly laughed and she joined me which she seemed to be stopping until then. I shook my head before walking towards her and sat on the couch before gesturing her to sit which she hesitated to.

"It's okay if you sit even more when you finally know I am a human." I said and she chuckled before sitting at the other end of the couch.

"Kalpana! Can I call you with your name?" I asked, to which she nodded with a slight shrug.

"No matter what I shouldn't have trashed my room, but I was too much angry. I will not repeat it again or I will try not to." I said to which she smiled.

"The deal must have not gone as you wished and I think it is fine to take out anger than building it inside. However, just try other ways to release it if you don't mind my advice, Sir." She said nervously and I smiled before holding her hand.

"I will not let other effect my actions." I said making it for Pallavi too.

I will not keep myself away from being normal with her or even close with her. I will not keep her away at all no matter what, when I know how irritating it was.

Whoever said that lust is nothing but pleasure must get lots and lots of footwear to be thrown at them.
