Of The Lost Wood
And I, I'd keep on falling for you
Time after time
"I haven't been to a party like this before!" Feliciano looked wide eyed at the Bonnefoy estate which was lit up with strobe lights and balloons. People were already causing trouble, tossing the toilet paper rolls over the balcony to make streamers that Mattie and Alfred's aunt would scream at. "It's strange that you'd bring be along, Lovi..."
"Consider it your birthday gift." Lovino sighed in a voice that sounded worn.
"So...am I allowed to drink?"
"No! What the hell is wrong with you?"
"I do it at home."
"That doesn't mean you can do it here. You're only in tenth grade."
"But Lovi-"
"Just go and socialize. They have karaoke. You like that don't you?"
"Yeah!"
"Good. Go have fun."
Feli grinned brightly, running into the house only to be hit by a wave of loud music. He didn't know the song but it was loud and electric and sounded like an argument between two robots. The Italian winced as his brother tapped him on the back and headed deeper into the house where he plopped down next to Matthew and a few other friends, grabbing a drink from one of them and downing it in a second.
This wasn't the kind of party he was used to. Feli had only really been to parties with lots of dancing and live music. But this.....
Could he really stand to be here all night?

"Bruder, zhis vay..." Gilbert pulled Ludwig through crowds he really didn't want to be in, dancing to music he really didn't want to hear. Gött. Kids these days.
"Hurry uuuuup! I vanna get to zhe pool!"
"Und I don't..." Ludwig managed to pull his arm from his brother's iron grasp, getting only a shocked pout in return.
"C'mon."
"I'm going to get a beer."
"Fine. As long as Jou have fun."
Ludwig nodded. He walked off to the kitchen, people sending him nervous glances like they normally did. That was the thing about being so tall and intimidating. Sometimes it worked to Ludwig's advantage. And sometimes-
"Whoops. Scusa-uh...." A small boy had bumped into his chest. He appeared disoriented, like he had been suddenly transported from a place of comfort into this mayhem. "Y-you're?"
"I'm vhat?"
"B-big...g-German...." This kid was weird. "I need to....to think...."
"Vhat?" Ludwig stepped back, puzzled.
"Julius?"
Again, the blonde blinked. "Who?"
"Oh...I was just...sorry." The smaller male lowered his head and started to walk away. But Ludwig grabbed his shoulder, pulling him into the kitchen and handing the stranger a bottle of water.
"Thank you." The brunet unscrewed the cap and downed the entire thing in one go.
"Are Jou going to be okay?"
"Si. It just that you look like somebody I used to know..."
"Oh?" Ludwig had to admit, this weird little kid did feel familiar now that he was seeing him in the light. But it was probably just his imagination.
"Yeah...he was quite the friend..." The boy's face softened into something sad, almost. His eyes drifted away to the door. "A good guy." He breathed.
Then, suddenly remembering that Ludwig was there, he blinked and hopped off the counter. "I've got to get going!"
"Zhe party just started."
"I know. I have to find somebody."
"Vait...vhat is jour name?" Jesus Ludwig. Why did you have to know? What good was it to you?
"Feliciano Vargas. But you can just call me Feli."
"Uh...okay. Bye Feli."
"I'll see ya around...um..."
"Ludwig."
"Right. Ludwig. See ya."
With that, the little guy made his way aimlessly out of the kitchen and back into the party.
