The Battle
My Aunt's hands started to blaze with purple and white fire, she swooped down and started to battle with the shadows, most lasting a few attacks before disappearing from defeat. Wow...I never thought my Aunt could do this...I...wonder...how can she do this? After a few minutes all I could see is shadows lying on the ground, defeated, slowly disappearing from the world around them. I jump out of the tree and make my way down the hill, I saw my Aunt heading to my house. I shout "Wait!" she stops and waits for me, my Aunt asks "Are you ready?" I nod my head yes. Before she heads in I grab her hand and ask "How did you do all of that?" my Aunt looks at me and says "Aphmau, I'll explain soon enough." we enter my home. Everything inside was a total wreck, we look around for my mom and anything useful. After five minutes of looking there's no sign of my mother, I started to panic, as I'm looking I see a drop of blood on the floor, I then see a small trail. I follow the trail hoping for answers, it leads down to the basement, I went down and what I saw broke my heart. I saw my mother leaned up against a barrel, with a large wound on her upper chest, I run to her. She looks at me and asks "Aphmau? Is...is that you?" I sit down by her and told her "It's me! W-what happened?" she told me "Some dark creatures got into the home, they chased me..." She trails off of her sentence. I hold my mother, I knew she was going to leave me...I teared up and start cradling her and sing the song she would sing to me when I was little,
"When the sun sets the moon and the stars come out
The stars dance above us
While the moon stays our protector
So do not fear, for the moon keeps the peace
So have a peaceful sleep
With the most pleasant dreams that you ever had before
And reside in the light, never to stride from it
Sleep, sleep, sleep..." as I finish the Lullaby my mother closes her eyes, I look at her and whisper "Good night...mommy..." I start to tear up more. My Aunt finally found me, when she noticed my mother she collapsed beside me. I gently laid down my mother and comforted my devestated Aunt.
