"Mom" a young child calls out meekly. He sneaks a look at the banquet in front of him. It's too loud and he cowers.

His tummy grumbled with hunger. When was the last time he ate? He was scared, if anyone found him, he would receive beatings but he was hungry.

He could see his father laugh. His mother smile and his brother play with his new toy car with his cousins.

He looked at his torn clothes.

He saw a small opportunity and ran towards the kitchen. They were bustling with Butlers and cooks. Would anyone notice him take one bite from the tray?

Just as he was about to take one, he gets caught. His mother drags him out through the back door and throws him onto the the ground. Slapping him, she leaves him in the midst of the cold night.

Trembling his limbs cling on to him as he rocks through the night.

The noise slowly dies down inside and the lights are dimmed. He's a forgotten memory. Unable to contain his hunger, he picks up the wet mud next to him and slowly sucks on them.

That night even the stary night cried for the poor kid who rocked himself to sleep as the cool frost covered him.
