It was a beautiful... Morning? Night? It doesn't matter; in the Underground. Frisk, a child from the surface, had just left the Ruins, which was the place where a kind monster named Toriel called home. She had cared for them and befriended them when they first fell into the land of monsters. In her soft, gentle embrace, they felt like they could never be harmed. Now, however... She wasn't there to protect them anymore. At that moment, they were walking through a snowy path. It was lined with thin, dark trees; so tall, you could barely see the tips of their branches. It was sceneries like this that made them very determined to  make the dangerous journey back home. Yet, in the back of their mind, they wished they didn't leave Toriel in the first place.

Frisk pushed these thoughts away as they approached a wooden archway, overhanging a yellow bridge. They were going to continue, walking over the bridge normally, but they heard footsteps creeping up behind them, making their heart skip a beat. "human." The owner of the footsteps said quietly. "don't you know... how to greet a new pal?"

"turn around and shake my hand."

At this, they wanted to just sprint away without looking back. But they found themselves rooted to the spot, unable to run. Not knowing what else to do, they chose to do what the monster said.  As they took his hand, they heard a soft  pbbbbffffffftttt echo through the forest. They did their best to stifle a laugh. "heheh... the whoppee-cushion-in-the-hand trick. it's ALWAYS funny." He chuckled. This monster was a short, chubby skeleton with a big, friendly smile. "anyways. you're a human, right? that's hilarious." He said, his expression barely changing. "i'm sans. sans the skeleton. me and my bro, papyrus, actually used to be sentries around here, but... eh... stuff happens." He shrugged. "go ahead. you'll be fine. most of the puzzles are deactivated, anyway. if ya see my bro, feel free to say hi." He said, before turning around and walking back the way Frisk came.
