"Isn't this a pleasant surprise" Aria says

Aria sat in her and Lloyd's old base near the school, when she heard a noise behind her. Aria turned around to see Pythor and Skales behind her.

"Your kind has always had a keen sense," Pythor chuckles "princess."

"I wasn't born until after the serpentine's entombment," Aria stands up and faces them "how could you possibly know who I am?"

"The world has many secrets your highness," Pythor says "we have a proposition for you."

"What kind?" Aria asks

"Show me where the city of Ouroboros is." Pythor demands with a laugh "and Lloyd won't get hurt."

"...where is Lloyd?" Aria asks

"He's safely under our care." Pythor tells her "For now."

"Have you tried looking yourself?" Aria questions "It's right under your nose."

"Foolish girl, don't you think I've looked." Pythor replies "Do you want Lloyd's safe return or not?"

"I'll show you where it is," Aria says "but how are you sure I know where it is?"

"Oh trust me," Pythor chuckles "I know you know."

Aria narrows her eyes at him before turning and heading towards the exit. Once she was out of earshot, Scales turns to Pythor.

"But we don't have the boy." Skales whispers

"She doesn't know that," Pythor says "in due time, everything will fall into place. Don't you worry."

Aboard the Destiny's Bounty, Lloyd Garmadon is discussing with the Ninja how he would attack a Serpentine.

"First, I'll stomp on his tail. Then when he turns, a thunder clap to his ears. Then when he's stunned, I'll disarm him" Lloyd says

Cole shook his head "Too late, he's already hypnotized you and now you're under his control"

"Or he's already put you in a squeeze" Zane adds

"Or spit on you with his hallucinatory venom. Trust me, bad stuff" Kai says

Lloyd groans "Uncle, what's the best way to stun a Serpentine if you don't know what kind they are?"

Wu entered the room with a box "Hmm... sadly, it was the Sacred Flute you four carelessly lost"

"Hey, no, no, no, we didn't lose it. Pythor stole it" Jay corrects

W sighs "Whatever the case, without it I fear we have nothing to combat their powers. We may have prevented them from uniting in the past, but they will try again, and one day they will be stronger"

"Don't worry. I've almost reached my Full Potential, and when I become the Green Ninja, we're not gonna need any magic flute" Cole says

Kai scoffs "You're gonna be the Green Ninja? Hahaha, don't make me laugh"

Zane intervenes "I thought it was decided that I was destined to become the Green Ninja"

"Oh! The only thing decided about you, Zane, is that you're weird" Jay says and the Ninja start arguing.

Lloyd rolls his eyes "Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's in the box?"

"Your new uniforms" Wu replies, the Ninja gasp in awe

The ninja boys changed into them.

"Whoa! They've got, like, armor." Jay says excitedly

Kai smiles "I love the gold highlights"

"Battle claws!" Cole shouts amazed

"The material is really light and breathable" Zane says

"Do I get anything?" Lloyd asks

"Uh, you get.." Wu looks around before grabbing the box "the box"

The alarm went off.

Cole looking at the monitor in the bridge "Sorry to break up the moment, but a small faction of our slithering friends are stirring up trouble at Mega Monster Amusement Park"

Lloyd turned to them looking happy "Amusement park? Can I go? Can I go with you, please? Let me make things up. I can help."

"I'm sorry, nephew. You will stay here where it's safe" Wu tells him

"Oh, Ninja get all the fun" Lloyd whines

Pythor and Skales stand behind Aria as she digs through the sands of the desert.

"We're wasting our time, Pythor." Skales breaks the silence "There's nothing here but sand and dust, she doesn't know where it is!"

"You have so little faith," Aria stops digging and turns to him "I've spent many years in that abandoned library of your kind's. I've learned many things and I know many things."

"She's a annoying brat," Skales mutters to Pythor

"Hush Skales," Pythor silences him

Aria turns back to the sand and places her hand on a dial she found. She stared at it, hesitating to activate it.

"Oh the things that this will set in motion," Aria says

The two snakes turn to her with a curious look. Aria turns the dial and the Lost City emerges from the sand. Pythor began to laugh as Aria stood up, Skales watching in amazement.

"Well," Aria turns to to them "I present to you the city formerly known as the Lost City of Ouroboros."

Upon arriving at the Amusement Park, however, the Ninja find that the Serpentine threat has been taken care of.

Nya walks over to them "Someone called Samurai X already arrived and took care of them."

"There is another hero?" Zane questions

"Seems that way" Cole says annoyed

Master Wu then comes out of a gift shop with cotton candy "this Samurai may help you five better yourselves through some healthy competition- oh ferris wheel!" with that he ran off

"Yeah, that's a great idea" Cole agrees

"Whoever catches the Samurai first is the Green Ninja" Kai declares and the other boys nod in agreement.

The ninjas have been dealing with snake attacks but have been beaten by the samurai every time. 

Then the Ninja set off to find the mysterious warrior. Kai, who is patrolling Ninjago City, drops Lloyd off at the Kiddie Arcade.

"Hey I want to come too" Lloyd whines

"Sorry kiddo but I gotta prove I'm the green ninja once and for all" Kai says

Kai speeds off, Lloyd groans before overhearing the Serpentine preparing to head to the Lost City of Ouroboros. Lloyd dons a Serpentine disguise, and follows the snakes on to a bus.

After a long drive, they reach the city, which is resting in the Sea of Sand. They all pile into a colosseum. Pythor, Skales, and Aria stood by the statue watching all the snakes pile in.

"What kind of plan is this?" Aria questions

"Watch and learn child," Pythor tells her "this may come in use to you."

Pythor and Skales both put cotton in their ears and head out into the middle of the arena while Aria stayed back at the statue.

"I bring you together to the Lost City of Ouroboros, before the statue of our very own Great Devourer, to speak of unity." Pythor announces.

"Where are the fights?"

"Where is the big show?"

"Slither Pit! Slither Pit! Slither Pit!"

"Argh! You want a show? You want to see a fight? I ask for your allegiance but you will not give it. So I will take it." Pythor laughs and turns to the generals "I challenge the four tribe Generals for their staffs and their allegiance. At once!"

"I fought hard for this staff and will not give it up easily." Acidicus says as he and the other generals approach Pythor.

"There's no way he can defeat the four of us at once." Skalidor agrees

Skales secretly hands him the Sacred Flute and Pythor immediately starts playing. The generals shout and cover their ears. Aria cringed at the pain she immediately got in her head.

"Oh ok, it affects me too." Aria comments as she covers her ears

Skales throws him his staff as Pythor defeats the other Generals.

"Bow to your master." Pythor laughs, victorious "Bow to your master, Serpentine!"

Aria uncovers her ears as the serpentine began to bow to Pythor.

"How about that," Aria says "dirty tricks still win."

Suddenly, their was a commotion in the crowd. Aria looks up to see the serpentine grabbing Lloyd, who had attempted to disguise himself as a serpentine, but was discovered.

"Lloyd?!" Pythor seemed shocked

Aria looked at Pythor angrily "You lying-"

"Grab her!" Pythor commands

Skales immediately cornered Aria, who attempted to escape but was grabbed by Skalidor. The two kids were brought into the center of the arena and forced onto their knees in front of Pythor.

"Like I said Skales," Pythor laughs "everything will fall into place."

Lloyd groans as Aria growls at them, Pythor staring into her eyes with a hint of fear.

All the ninja gather in the living room

"Trying to find out the Samurai's identity is more of a nuisance than the snakes. Any luck with you?" Cole asks

"The guy's elusive. He's like a ghost. One moment he's there, the next he's gone" Jay replies

"I am starting to believe we might never catch him" Zane says

Kai sighs "I think it's safe to say, none of us are closer to proving we're the Green Ninja"

Wu enters the room "Looks like iron is sharpening iron. I feel you are getting closer to your True Potential" He lightly squeezes Cole's arm.

Cole jumps a bit "Ow!"

"Where is Lloyd?" Wu asks as he looked around the room.

"I thought Cole was gonna pick him up" Kai says

Cole shook his head "I went to the arcade, but he wasn't there. Jay was-"

"Don't bring me into this. I babysat yesterday" Jay says annoyed

"We have not seen him" Zane simplifies

"I am afraid of what might have become of my nephew," Wu says worriedly "We must find the boy."

The ninja arrive near the arcade.

"Lloyd? Lloyd?" Kai calls out then turned to the others "He was right here. Someone must have seen him"

Zane looks up "Their's a security camera"

They went to watch the footage.

"Wait, wait, there's the pipsqueak. Play that back" Jay says and they see him buying the disguise and walking away "What is he up to?" They go back to where Lloyd was.

They found footprints and followed them Zane stopped at the end "I sense these are Lloyd's footprints, but they come to an end here. Why?"

"Something tells me we're going for a ride. Come on" Kai says

The ninja quickly ride to a giant City in the dessert.

"What is that place?" Cole questions

"Looks like snake city." Kai replies

They come upon the gates of The Lost City of Ouroboros and after reverting their weapons they slip past the guards. They come upon the border of the colosseum.

"It appears Pythor has successfully united all of the tribes" Zane points out

"I know we ruined their last get-together, but that's no reason to not get an invitation. My feelings are hurt" Cole jokes

They looked in and Kai points to the statue "There's Lloyd!" 

"They got Aria too!" Cole adds

Lloyd is trapped in a cage with Aria, the two sitting back to back, looking out at their surroundings.

"Whoa, and look at who they worship" Jay points out as he stared at the giant snake statue.

"Let me guess: the Great Devourer." Cole says

The ninja rush in and trigger a trap that locks them inside a cage as well, dropping their Golden Weapons.

Lloyd gasps "The Ninja!"

"Oh great," Aria comments

"I thought you weren't talking to me," Lloyd says

"I'm not talking to you!" Aria replies

"Looks like we've caught the main event" Pythor laughs and the Ninja are brought into the arena.

The Ninja are led to the center of the colosseum

"You say you wanted a battle, and I give you one. I give you Ninja versus Samurai!" Pythor announces

The Samurai is brought out in chains.

"What? We have to fight the Samurai? But we don't even have our Golden Weapons and he has that hulking thing of armor. It's not fair" Jay complains

"I want to see once and for all who is the greatest hero. Is it Samurai, or Ninja? Only the victor will be allowed to leave" Pythor announces

"Stay together" Kai commands

The duel begins and the Samurai throws projectile weapons at them, but they dodge most of them.

"Haha, missed me!" Jay then gets hit

The Samurai throws more and the ninja dodge. The ninja then use the tornado of creation to make a slingshot and fire only for the Samurai to block it. Pythor activates spikes and then tilts the arena.

"Can this get any worse?" Cole questions

"We must continue to make it appear that we are fighting for real" Samurai X says

"Huh, we're not fighting for real?" Jay asks confused

"Keep up the charade and hold on to my exo-suit" Samurai X instructed and they try to fly away.

"There's too much weight!" Kai says before Samurai X jumps out and the mech blasts off.

"I can't believe he just saved us" Cole says

"He stole our thunder again!" Kai shouts annoyed

"Argh! I hate that Samurai!" Jay shouts

The Samurai steals the Golden Weapons and leaves quickly, leaving the serpentine shouting and excited for battle.

"Looks like we're really in trouble this time," Lloyd says glancing behind him at Aria "I.. should've listened to you."

"No point in dwelling on the past Lloyd," Aria sighs as she turns to face him in the cage "right now what's important is that we stick together through this mess."

"You're right," Lloyd agrees as he lifts his pinky up "So, still best friends?" 

Aria wraps her pinky around his "Always."
