Jay stutters "Nya. I-I wanted to ask you this for... a long time. Um, will you... be my Yang?" He holds up his Yin-Yang token.

"No, no, no. You can't ask like that" Kai says

In the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Jay was practicing his Yin-Yang Promise to Nya on Kai.

"You have to ask with confidence. Like this" Kai switches Jay to his position "Hey, Nya, how's it going?" he grabs Jay's hand "I've been thinking. You and me. We make a pretty good pair. So what do you say we make it official?" he slides around Jay, grabs the Yin-Yang token, and spins into a proposal stance and holds out the Yin-Yang token. "Will you be my Yang?"

Jay takes the token and sighs happily "Yes!"

"Errr!" Reika shouts from the side "Wrong!"

"Reika!" Jay turns to her.

"Sorry, it was too tempting." Reika sticks her tongue out. "If you wanna propose to our sister Jay, don't do it like my egotistical brother."

"I'm not egotistical!" Kai argues.

"You're right," Jay sighs "it feels too—I don't know, cocky."

Dareth slides into doorway "Who's cocky?"

"Nobody" Kai corrects "Jay's trying to find the right way to ask Nya to be his Yang."

"Seriously?! You and Nya?! Wow!" Dareth shouts "The Yin-Yang Promise is a beautiful and sacred tradition, Jay. Congratulations" he gasps in excitement "Ah! I'm so excited to be part of it. Eh-hee. I-I am part of it, right?"

"Yes, Dareth" Jay answers and Dareth pounds his fist excitedly.

"If he ever asks Nya" Kai says.

Nya walks into the doorway "Ask me what?"

Everyone gasps.

Jay breaks out of his trance "Um" He passes token to Kai behind Dareth "Ask you where you got that shirt. Because it's awesome! I want one."

"It's a kimono, Jay. A traditional gown worn by women," Nya responds.

"Oh yeah," Jay laughs nervously

"Uh, so, where's Master Wu?" Kai asks

"In the courtyard, supervising the new mural" Nya replies

Dareth slides in front of Jay "Ooh, ooh, I want to see" he walks out with them following.

Everyone gazes at the mural.

"Wow" Jay says.

Kai smiles "Will you look at that."

"It is the history of Ninjago." Wu tells them "A history in which all of you played a significant role."

"What are those?" Reika points to the first mural with a purple and pink mark on it.

"That would be signifying Lloyd and Aria," Wu replies. "You played a role in their rule as well, even if you are not aware of it."

"How so?" Zane questions.

"That would be-"

Suddenly, a portal from The First Realm opens up above the Monastery. Firstbourne flies out and crashes below the Monastery. Everyone runs down the steps. 

Firstbourne opens her talons and Faith falls out.

"Oh my gosh! Faith!" Nya and Jay run up to her.

Wu rests Faith on his arm "Faith, what happened? Who did this?" Faith whispers into his ear.

"What did she say?" Jay asks.

"She said, a darkness is coming." Wu tells them.

The ninja sees darkness all over the city as they approach, they soon see the commissioner and some police officers cornered in the darkness, they drop down a ladder and ropes. Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, and Reika slide down the ropes.

"Commissioner, get your officers out of here" Reika passes them the ladder.

"You heard him, move it!" Policemen and Commissioner climb the ladder.

The ninja turns to face the darkness.

"Okay, let's see what this is made of" Reika cracks her knuckles.

"Lightning!" Jay strikes lightning at the darkness, the darkness absorbs the lightning.

"Uh, heh. Let's see how it likes fire. Fire!" Kai strikes the darkness with fire, the darkness absorbs the fire "What?!"

"Okay, everybody at the same time." Cole orders

Everyone strikes the darkness with their powers, and the darkness absorbs all the ninja's powers.

"What do we do?" Kai questions

"Simple-" Reika turns and runs back to the bounty "We get the hell out of here!"

All the Ninja jumps up on the ropes and ladder, with Cole being last on his rope.

The darkness grabs Cole "Wha—ah. Uh, guys" he struggles to hold the rope "Help! It's got me!" the darkness drags him down and he shouts "Ahh!!!"

Reika lets go of her rope and jumps down towards Cole. She pulls out her sword in midair as the being prepares to turn Cole to stone. Reika lands and cuts the darkness. 

The being in the cloud roars in pain "Come on, buddy. I got ya. Time to get out of here" they grab the rope "Reel in, quick!" Nya quickly helps Reika and Cole up "We need to go save some more people."

Reika stares down sadly at the corrupted city as Nya, Kai, Jay, and Zane join up with her.

"We hit it with everything we had, and it did nothing." Reika says, "It just went right through it..."

Cole joins up with the other Ninja.

"How are we supposed to fight something like that?" Nya questions.

"I-I touched it. It was colder than anything I've ever felt." Cole shivers "But It felt... familiar."

"Familiar how?" Jay asks, turning towards him.

Cole looks at them before bending down and rolling up his left pant-leg, revealing a black scar above his ankle. The ninja gasped in shock.

"W-What... Cole..." Nya looked at him with worry.

"When I was young, I took care of Aria a lot." Cole starts off "You know she's never exactly... liked me. After her mother died, we did take care of her. When I expressed my intentions to leave home, she became distant. The more I tried to bring us closer, the more she resisted. Her powers activated for the first time during a fight we had."

"How so?" Kai asks.

"Aria grew horns and lashed out at me." Cole sighs "I've had this scar ever since, and my father saw her as a monster. That's how she ended up at Darkley's. But the coldness I just felt, the darkness in the air, it's a lot like that day. The things attacking, they're Oni."

"Maybe we can't fight it..." Reika turns around "but we know someone who might know."

Nya looks at Kai confused, who shrugs in reply. The Ninja soon arrives at the high security prison cell with the most dangerous criminals. Two cells sat in a void of darkness, one belonging to Garmadon and the other...

"Ninjago would've been yours by now if you had just done something!"

"Excuse me for being such a useless son!"

"You are useless!"

"At least I'll be out in 30 years! By then you'll be in a box floating down the river!"

"How dare you! Show your father some respect brat!"

"Oh, now I'm your son!"

The ninja walked across the extending bridge as they approached the father and son's cells that was positioned not far away from each other.

"Who the heck thought it was a good idea to put them together?" Reika mutters.

Garmadon stops bickering with Lloyd and looks at them "Well, well. Look who's back."

"How do we stop it?" Reika asks.

"You can't. If you were to enter the darkness, you would succumb to it." Garmadon brushes his table "The only way to defeat an Oni is with another Oni. You need me."

"Ha, ha, ha. Like that's gonna happen." Jay laughs before looking at the ninja "Ha, ha. That's not gonna happen, is it?"

"I'd take Lloyd over you ya know." Reika crosses her arms "He's an Oni too."

"But-" Garmadon smirks "Not a full one, not in this life."

Lloyd crosses his arms in his prison cell with an annoyed look.

"He's... right." Reika sighs "Open Cell One!"

The cell lifts up slowly as Garmadon laughs evilly "Hahahahaha. Mmhahahaha."
