In the first realm, Aria and the Oni sat around the campfire.

"So, walk me through it again," Aria turns to her grandmother "How exactly did my mother murder my grandfather?"

"It was after a battle against the dragons." the Omega sighs "Your grandfather, the alpha, went to have his tea in the tent. Your mother entered not long after and ran out shouting. That is all we know, we found him dead in the tent."

"How exactly?" Aria questions "Like how did he die? Did she stab him or-"

"No there was no marks," the Omega shakes her head "we do not know the cause of death. He was in perfect health, so we knew it wasn't natural. Perhaps she used her powers on him, my poor husband."

"If mother used her powers, there would be marks." Aria points out.

"Our power does not leave marks child," the Omega tells her.

"Yes, it does," Aria argues "if used on the opposite element. When Oni fight each other, there are no lasting marks because darkness cannot consume darkness."

"Are you certain?" the Omega asks.

"I'm positive," Aria nods before explaining "In the realm I grew up I have a cousin, he's not blood related to me and is an elemental master of earth. When I was younger, I used my dark energy on him, he has a mark on him because of it."

"I see," the Omega nods "but what does this-"

"My mother was a master of creation, if she used that power to kill my grandfather then there would be a mark." Aria states.

"...you're.. absolutely right." the Omega turns away in thought.

"Are you sure there isn't any information we overlooked?" Aria asks.

The Omega stood up "Everyone! Front and center!"

Back in Ninjago, the citizens run away while the Sons of Garmadon takes over the city.

"It's chaos out there." Nya shuts the door "But we're safe for now."

"All good on your end guys?" Lloyd asks Hanabusa through the crystal ball.

"All clear," came Hanabusa's reply.

Lloyd nods to the others who crowded around Mistake.

"All right" Reika turns to Mistake "are you gonna tell us how you turned into a rat?"

Mistaké slurps tea "Ahh. The rat is easy! How about this?" She transforms into Wu and they gasp "Not too shabby for an old woman" she changes back into herself and giggles.

"You're an Oni, a real Oni," Reika says.

"Yeah," Lloyd comments.

"That aside, we were told that Oni are dangerous and all they want to do is destroy!" Dareth shouts

"We are." Mistaké confirms "You don't want me on your bad side."

"Does this mean Aria is also an Oni?" Reika asks before turning to Lloyd "Wait- does that mean you're an Oni."

"Yep, in this life and the last." Lloyd replies.

Nya looks at her "How did you get here? When—"

"During the time of legend, when she crossed over in pursuit of the First Spinjitzu Master. " Reika says "When he fled the Realm of Oni and Dragon."

Mistaké nods "Since he was born of both worlds, the Oni's mission was to follow him into this realm and turn him to our side! Or destroy him, but he wouldn't serve. My fellow Oni wanted to complete our mission, but I turned on them, to protect the child I raised."

"Aria's mother, Layla." Reika states.

"Indeed," Mistake nods "Did you ever wonder how Master Wu and Garmadon have lived so long? It is our Oni blood." 

Mistaké chuckles.

"This is all making my head hurt," Reika whines.

"That's because you're kinda stupid," Lloyd mutters.

"My morals are fading with each insult, remember that." Reika turns to him.

"It's not hard to put together," Lloyd crosses his arms "Mistake followed the other Oni here and came face to face with Aria's mother Layla, who she raised in the first realm. Mistake chose to stay and serve her here in Ninjago."

"Shush, I got it." Reika swats at him.

"How have you kept this secret for so long?" Skylor asks Mistake.

"Transformation is a powerful ability" Mistaké replies.

"But I'm not part Oni," Reika sighs "I can't transform or anything special."

"Transform? You've been doing it all your life! From a bratty teen to the destined Green Ninja and now to our great leader of The Resistance" Mistaké says "But now to endure Garmadon, you must transform again."

"Into what?" Reika asks.

"There is but one final step for you, young Master. Have faith." Mistaké tells her "You will figure it out."

Back in the first realm, the Omega was questioning each of the Oni to see if they had any more details of the night, that they might have missed. The stories however were all the same, nobody else was around the tent that night.

"This doesn't make sense," Aria says "it couldn't have been mother."

"Nothing was unusual that night though," the Omega sighs. "It was like every other."

"...unless..." Aria turns to her "did grandfather always go for tea after the battle?"

"Yes, why?" the Omega asks, "That's not unusual child."

"Unless the tea was different," Aria tells her "Who prepared it?"

"The only person we would trust to," the Omega replies "Mystic."

Aria's memory flashed to the author's name of the Servant of Evil, the book written about her and Lloyd's past.

"But she was lost like the rest of the warriors in the pursuit of the child born from both worlds," the Omega sighs "so we cannot question her, to see if she saw anything."

"We don't need to," Aria turns to the Omega "I know exactly who killed my grandfather. A certain Oni who felt the need to 'repay' my family."

"Mystic? You think she killed him?" the Omega questions. "She couldn't have, we trusted-"

"I know an Oni in my realm," Aria states "that has a knack for creating tea."

In Ninjago, Mistake sipped tea as Reika and the rest of the resistance stood around her.

"Just remember when the final test comes," Mistake sighs "history is doomed to repeat itself."

"Uh guys, I hate to interrupt!" Dareth turns to them "They're here. And they brought Harumi!"

"We need to leave" Nya says.

"No." Reika shakes her head "No more running."

Lloyd unsheathes his swords "Finally."

The Sons of Garmadon surround two citizens "The Green Ninja. Have you seen her?" The man shakes his head.

"He's lying, make him tell the truth" Harumi orders.

'Lloyd' whistles

Son of Garmadon look up to see 'Lloyd' running.

"Don't let him get away!" Harumi shouts.

Killow land on a boat, which starts to separate from the others. Two Sons of Garmadon follow 'Lloyd' into an alley but only see a rat.

The rat goes in a pile of garbage bags. It's revealed to be Mistake "Were you expecting someone else?"

Lloyd begins attacking the Sons of Garmadon, as the resistance slowly come out of hiding as well and takes out the sons of Garmadon.

"Those who cannot change, cannot change anything." Reika says as she comes out of hiding and stands in front of Harumi.

"You speak of change but look what you've become." Harumi mocks "Nothing but a beggar in rags."

"You took my friends from me, so I took yours" Reika says as the Resistance surrounds Harumi.

Harumi goes to turn around but stops when a blade gets pointed to her throat, her eyes lock with Lloyd's whose was glowing dark pink.

"So," Reika chuckles.

Lloyd smirks "Who's the beggar now?"
