The Hypnobrai are in the forest creating what looks like a giant treehouse. Slithraa approaches Skales.

"Everyone works while you two slack." Slithraa says angrily "As my second in command, I expect more from you, Skales."

"General, you know I am most loyal to you, but I must question this childish agenda" Skales replies "The Ninja have stolen our staff yet you instruct your army to make this playhouse for the children? Snakes don't belong in trees"

"You know better than to question my judgement, Skales." Sytheraa says "I'll pretend you didn't ask."

"Hey! If we plan to rule Ninjago from here, this elevator needs to have a trapped door! I want more booby traps!" Lloyd shouts

"As you wish, young Garmadon" Slytheraa bows

Skales looks displeased "As you wish, General"

"Lloyd you need to check this out!" Aria shouts from the top of the tree "This place is so much cooler then our last hideout!"

"I wanna see!" Lloyd replies as he runs up the tree

Lloyd got to the top and stood next to Aria, the two stare out from atop the trees at the sun set.

"It looks the same," Lloyd says as he turns to her "You feeling ok?"

"It is different Lloyd," Aria replies as she turns to look at him "we're no longer at that school. This new base, can be called our home."

Lloyd smiles "Right."

The next day the kids sat eating candy as the serpentine continued to craft the tree house.

"Watch it! No, bigger! Come on, we don't have all day! It's not time for a lunch break" Lloyd shouts and Aria giggles.

Lloyd ran up the tree house as Aria stood up and watched him from the ground. Lloyd tests a booby trap on a hypnobrai to see if it works. It works and sends the soldier crashing to the floor.

"Booby trap!" Lloyd shouts happily

Suddenly, the tree house stumbles and sends everyone off flying to the ground.

Aria ran up to Lloyd "Are you ok?"

"Yeah," Lloyd rubs his head

Aria looks up and spots Kai on top of the treehouse.

"Ninja!" Aria shouts

"Attack!" Lloyd commands

"Everyone! Retreat!" Skales shouts instead

The Hypnobrai start leaving the treehouse.

"Cole! Wait till we're off the treehouse, then cut the line" Kai shouts and Cole nods in agreement.

Skales points at Cole "You! You will obey my every command"

"I will obey your every command" Cole repeats, falling under the hypnosis.

Cole and the ninja start fighting as Aria turns to Lloyd who looks angry and confused.

"Don't go!" Lloyd turns to the hypnobrai "We have to protect my treehouse fortress!"

"Your treehouse?" Skales asks angrily "it's about time we did this!"

"W-what?" Lloyd questions

Skales uses one of Lloyd's booby traps to trap both kids in a cage together.

"Hey!" Aria tugs on the bar "Let us out!"

"Aria," Lloyd says worriedly

"Now, to get the staff!" Skales shouts

Lloyd and Aria try to break open the cage as the ninja and the snakes fight.

"Okay, now come on. Friends don't hit friends" Cole kicks Jay on the jaw "Ow, okay. I-I-I-I'm gonna ignore that"

Cole knocks Kai off the top, but Zane saves him.

"Oh, sorry, Cole, but this is gonna hurt you a lot more than it's gonna hurt me" Jay shocks Cole, but only making him angrier. Cole knocks Jay off of the treehouse.

Cole goes on to try and sever the last rope with his teammates still on the rooftop.

"No, Cole! Don't!" the ninja shout

Cole suddenly snaps out of the trance when the Sacred Flute is being played by Wu as he and Nya go collect the Ninja using Flame.

"Huh? Where-where am I? What are we doing?" Cole asks

"We're getting outta here because this whole place is coming down!" Nya shouts in reply

Cole hops on the Dragon. Kai, Jay, and Zane follow suit.

"Wait!" Cole calls out "We need to save my cousin!"

"Those kids dug their own grave Cole," Kai comments

"They're 10 Kai!" Cole argues

"We must hurry," Wu says "The Monastery is unguarded!"

Cole sighs, looking back at the scene as they fly away. At the Hypnobrai Tomb, Lloyd and Aria are tied to a pillar.

"Any plans to get us out of here?" Lloyd asks her

"No," Aria shakes her head "I can't reach my knife."

"Dang it," Lloyd thought for a minute before looking at Slithraa "Do something, General. You're still under my command, right?

Slithraa nodded then turned to Skales "Enough! I am the General! You will return my staff at once!"

"No" Skales refused

"You dare challenge my command?!" Slithraa shouts, furious.

The Hypnobrai started chanting "Slither Pit! Slither Pit! Slither Pit! Slither Pit!"

"Slither pit!" Aria chanted with them

Lloyd gave her a questioning look "what are you doing?"

"I don't know, I kinda wanna see a fight" Aria replies

"I thinking leaving the school made you loose it a bit," Lloyd mutters

"I guess we'll have to fight for it... in the Slither Pit!" Skales declares

The Hypnobrai cheer as Skales and Slithraa prepare for the fight.

"If Slithraa wins we're guaranteed to be freed," Aria whispers to Lloyd "if not I don't know what'll happen."

The fight is evenly fair on the first round. The second round contained weapons. Slithraa takes a pick-axe and a shield while Skales takes two katanas. Slithraa throws the pick-axe at Skales, but Skales dodges it. For the next round the arena is tilted and the two snakes start sliding.

Slithraa tries to hypnotise Skales, but Skales kicks him to stop the hypnosis. Skales then does a move that dizzies Slithraa and then kicks him on the ground.

Lloyd got worried "Get up! Get up!"

"This doesn't look good," Aria says

Slithraa doesn't get up, giving the victory to Skales.

"We have a winner!" A snake shouts

Skales gains a tail and General markings while Slithraa degrades to Warrior markings and his tail is replaced with legs.

The Hypnobrai started chanting "Skales! Skales! Skales! Skales! Skales! Skales! Skales! Skales!"

"You will be loyal to me now!" Skales commands

Slithraa bows "I will do as you command"

Skales turns to the kids who look scared.

"You two!" Skales glares at them "Leave and never return!"

"Don't have to tell us twice," Aria says as she finally cuts the rope using her knife.

"I thought you couldn't reach it?!" Lloyd questions as the rope falls to the ground.

"I couldn't," Aria says

"Leave!" Skales shouts "A moment longer and you'll become lunch."

The kids shout before quickly rushing out of the cave and into the cold.

"What now?" Lloyd whines "We're in big trouble if we go back to school now."

Aria takes the map out of her pocket "Well, we can always try the next cave."

Lloyd glances at the map, before noticing marks on Aria's arm. He grabs her arm and stares at them, they were rope burns.

"What?" Aria questions

"Don't hurt yourself trying to save us," Lloyd says angrily "I had it under control. You didn't have to do that."

"It didn't hurt that much," Aria argues as she pulls her arm away "I just needed to reach my knife. We could've became dinner."

"Then I would've sacrificed myself for you to escape," Lloyd tells her "That's what friends do."

"I wouldn't want that," Aria says

"You always say I'm annoying to be around anyway," Lloyd turns away from her "It would be a load of your shoulders."

"Listen here brat," Aria runs in front of him and grabs him by the collar "An evil Overlord is nothing without a general. There's nobody else in the world I would trust for that position then you, my stubborn ass childhood friend! So you're going to be around until I say so, got it!"

"I-" Lloyd looked shocked before chuckling "Yes ma'am."

Aria pouts as she lets him go and turns away from him.

"So, where to next?" Lloyd asks before mockingly saying "princess?"

"Listen here you," Aria bonks him on the head and Lloyd laughs.

The kids head out of the cold and into the hot desert, heading to their next destination. Lloyd held Aria's hand as they walked through the Sea of Sand. The two stopped when they heard laughing, they turned to see the Ninja in a new ship to call home. Lloyd looked back down sadly.

"Lloyd," Aria says

"Hm?" Lloyd turns to her

"It's not a place that makes a home, it's the people" Aria tells him as she grips his hand tighter

Lloyd smiles "Right."
