7.

The knock on the door interrupted our hug and I quickly got up to answer it. Casey still looked like a depressed loner and was too lazy to go and get the door.

We didn't hear anyone ringing the intercom, so ringing of the door was unusual. I opened the half of it and looked out of the door. It was Elyssa. Her clothes were dusty and she was out of breath. "What the hell happened?" asked, trying to keep my voice down.

She made a motion with her finger, telling me to wait a minute as he put her hands on her knees and tried to control her panting. I leaned on the doorway and looked at her.

After calming down a bit she looked up at me. I shot her a questioning look. Once again, Elyssa ignored it and opened the door further to walk inside.

"What is this place?" She asked as she took a turn and looked around the house. Casey's house was gorgeous with its high ceilings and abstract artworks hanging around everywhere.

"Get back here, you are going to get the house dirty." I whispered/yelled at Elyssa, who's shoes looked like they have just got out of WW2. Luckily, she didn't move further and came back to take her shoes off.

"Who is it, Olivia?"  Casey's voice made me panic as I walked inside and closed the door behind me. She doesn't know who Elyssa is. She literally can't know Elyssa.

I turned to Elyssa who raised her brow at me and asked. "Who is living here?"  I made a huge sigh and rolled my eyes.

"It's, um, my friend, from college. She just came by to say hi." I mustered out as Casey came towards us. She checked Elyssa up and down and then offered a small smile.

"Hey, I'm Casey, Liv's best friend." Casey always introduced her as my best friend, to 'show that you don't need another best friend.' As she liked to phrase it.

"Elyssa. I hope you don't mind me just randomly popping in, it is just the weather is so bad, and my ride just ditched me." Elyssa talked in a slightly clingy voice, and put her hand through her hair making it look like this helped her calm down.

"Your ride ditched you? You need to tell me about it in detail. Let's go I will make us tea." Casey said with soft smile and walked towards the kitchen.

"How did you even know that I was here?" I whispered after Casey was out of sight. "I put a tracker on your phone." She said and when I got angry about it, she just smiled.

"Come on, I have a ride ditching story to tell." Elyssa said and nudged me to go. "Oh really?" I said sarcastically and guided her to the kitchen. Elyssa sat down on the kitchen island and I made my way towards Casey. I looked at her in way of saying 'Are you ok?' She nodded and I relaxed a bit.

One problem down. I looked at Elyssa whose eyes were burning holes on the kitchen table. And one to go.

"So, Elyssa is it? Who the hell was your ride and why did they ditch you?" Casey said as she gave us the tea and sat down.

I am not going to bore anyone with the extremely long and extremely fake ride ditching story. But Elyssa's act through it all was funny, I nearly choked on my tea to stop myself from laughing. Twice.

Elyssa acted like some kind of noisy, a bit bitchy, side girl of some boy? At least that what I made of it. It was like her personality totally swapped and she was a different person. It was clear that she was doing it to keep Casey out of the whole gang war, need to hide thing.

Though she looked really roughed up. In her left hand her knuckles were red. She caught me looking at them, and moved the sleeve of her shirt down to cover it.

"Motorcycles are no good anyway." Casey's remark bought my attention back to the conversation. I narrowed my eyes at her and she shrugged. "Not going to take it back. I know you loved that thing but it was a death trap." Casey objected about my baby aka my motorcycle again.

"It's not death trap if you drive careful. " I argued with her. It was our daily routine to debate about the things that I liked and she hated.

Casey sighed and looked at Elyssa. "She is crazy about them. I can't fix her, at least she doesn't drive one now."  Elyssa chuckled and nodded. "Agreed, motorcycles are totally devil's thing. Though why don't you drive one anymore. Can't you like, drive really well or?" Elyssa asked me in her fake voice.

I shook my head. "I know how to ride a motorcycle. Just don't have one anymore." Now it was Casey's turn to sigh and ask me a question.

"You can just go and get it you know?" I shrugged not knowing what to tell. I left my motorcycle in my parent's house when I 'moved out'. It was going to be 6 months from it soon. Still, none of them even tried, to better our relationship.

"it doesn't work like that. I can't just march in and take it and you know that." Marching down and taking what you want needs courage. And I got none of it.

I didn't like the direction this conversation was taking. I didn't want to have this conversation. Especially not in front of Elyssa who was looking from me to Casey with a lot of interest.

My family and my old stuff are not something I like to discuss. Even though I find myself thinking about them a lot, I don't like to voice out my thoughts about them. These thoughts are mine and mine only.

Casey, saw that I wasn't going to continue talk about it, thank god, and changed the topic of conversation. "Anyway, it looks like the storm is coming, you guys want to stay the night?" Casey asked and looked from Elyssa to me.

I shook my head. "Thanks, but no. I have to finish few reading assignments. I better get going before the storm. " I said and got up. I pat my pockets looking around for my phone.

Casey nodded and looked at Elyssa.  Elyssa looked at me and stood up too. "I better get going too. I still have to get back at that asshole for leaving me." She said. As we walked out to the corridor she gave me my phone.

I looked at her confused. "Be careful with where you put it. " She said with a smirk.  "How did you even get it? I am sure I didn't even take it out of my pocket?" I asked as we walked out of Casey's house.

"You are underestimating me. Also, it was in your back pocket and was nearly dropping from there." She said. I looked at her with wide eyes as she shot me a wink and made her way to the elevator.

I followed Elyssa to the back of the building, and saw her motorcycle, parked on the back exit of the building. It was dirtier than the last time I saw it. "I thought motorcycles were 'devil's things'.," I said as the sky rumbled and it was clear that storm was approaching. Elyssa rolled her eyes and turned the ignition of motorcycle on.

I sat in the back and as were moving from our spot Elyssa said. "It is devil's thing, but I am professional driver so no problems here."

I chuckled at that. "No one is protected from accidents." I argued with her.  "I am The professional driver. I simply can't have accidents." She said and put the emphasis on 'the'.  "Well, I haven't seen that much of The professionalism in your driving." I said mocking her emphasis.

Elyssa nodded. "You are right. I must show you my professionality. I can't have someone doubting my skills. " She said and took a turn into my street.

"Good then. After you show me I might consider changing my views." I said as we came to a stop in front of my apartment.  Elyssa shook her head with a chuckle. She came to a stop and I got out of the vehicle. "You will change your views, darling. Tomorrow, at 5 pm. Be ready to feel my professionalism." I rolled my eyes at her statement as Elyssa sped of the road.

As I entered my house, I understood 2 things:

1. Elyssa is taking me out tomorrow.

2. And she didn't tell me anything about the reason of me running away.
