You're a proud student of SFIT, and you're majoring in Robotics. The project you're currently working on is...well, you're not sure yet. You got accepted into SFIT about a month ago, and the project you showed at the showcase was what you called a 'tutorial robot'. It was a robot with a projector in its stomach, and it could show you the most accurate video for anything you needed help with. It was easier than scrolling through thousands of YouTube videos. It could also connect you to a live chat with a professional who could teach you different things, so that, unlike YouTube videos, you could ask questions and get an immediate and accurate answer.

Anyway, you were accepted into SFIT about a month ago, but today was your first day on the campus. You came to get shown your new lab, and to set up all your equipment and parts for future projects. Professor Callaghan, a world-renowned scientist and the head professor of SFIT, appointed a student to help you learn your way around the campus and get settled in. Her name was Honey Lemon, or her nickname, anyway, and she was one of the sweetest girls you've ever met, which is how you guess she got the 'Honey' part of her nickname. She had shown you around the campus all morning and now she was going to introduce you to her friends.

"Ok, ok, follow me, you'll love them!" Honey Lemon cheered as she pulled you by your hand to a room full of students working on their projects. You stepped inside the room and were almost hit by a girl speeding by on a bike.

"Heads up!" the girl's voice shouted as she stopped her bike by what you assumed was her section of the room. She climbed off her bike and lifted it onto a device that hangs it from the ceiling so she can work on it without it being on the ground. She takes off the back wheel, looks at it through her motorcycle helmet, and goes to toss the wheel to the ground. But the wheel is pulled back onto the bike, like a magnet. Curiously, you make your way over to the bike, looking at the other students' projects as you go.

You see two robot arms playing ping pong, a boy steering a cat with rocket boots on, and lots of other students just doing their own things. You walk up to the bike and notice the wheels aren't connected to the frame. You can wave your hand in between the wheel and frame and your jaw drops in amazement.

"Woah. Electro-mag suspension?" you say to yourself and don't notice the girl walking up to you.

"Hey. Who are you?" she asks, with her motorcycle helmet still on and covering her face. Honey Lemon bounds up.

"Oh, Go Go! This is (Y/N), she's a new Robotics major here!" Honey says and Go Go takes off her motorcycle helmet, revealing a pretty Korean girl with short black hair with violet streaks in it. She gives you a curious look and then holds her hand out. You take it and shake it gently.

"Hey. The name's Ethel, but my friends call me Go Go. I go by that more." she says and you smile warmly at her.

"So...I've never seen electro-mag suspension on a bike before." you say and Go Go walks over to her bike, spinning the back wheel.

"Zero resistance, faster bike. But, not fast enough." she says as she pulls the wheel off the bike and throws it like a frisbee into a bin full of other reject wheels.

"Yet." She walks away and you wander over to another section of the room, where a muscular African American boy with dreadlocks is working with two glass tubes.

"Woah, woah, woah. Do not move. Behind the line please." he says and points to a yellow and black safety line. You move backwards and stand behind the line, then look back up at him.

"Hey, Wasabi, this is (Y/N). She's a new Robotics major." Honey Lemon announces and Wasabi lifts his goggles up and smiles at you.

"Hello, (Y/N). Prepare to be amazed." He puts the goggles back over his eyes and walks over to the glass tubes. He picks up an apple and holds it up.

"Catch." He tosses you the apple and you go to catch it, only to find paper-thin slices floating towards you. You pluck one out of the air and examine it.

"Wow..." you say as you turn the slice over, looking closely at it. Wasabi turns a switch on a machine behind him and green lasers appear between the tubes, showing how the apple got cut so thin.

"Laser-induced plasma?" you ask as you follow Wasabi to a table with a bunch of tools on top. You notice that each of the tools has a white outline around it, indicating where each tool goes.

"Oh yeah. With a little magnetic confinement for, uh, ultra precision." Wasabi says as he fixes a piece so it's perfectly placed inside its outline.

"Wow. How do you find anything in this mess?" you ask as you pick up a tool and examine it. Wasabi panics and takes the tool back, putting it in its rightful spot.

"I have a system. There's a place for everything, everything in its place." he says. Suddenly, Go Go runs over and grabs a random tool, bumping into the table and sending tools scattering everywhere.

"Need this!" she yells as she runs off. Wasabi freaks out and chases after her, yelling things about ruining his system.

"You can't do this! This is anarchy! Society has rules!" he yells as he chases her. You and Honey Lemon laugh.

"C'mon, let's go see Fred. He comes up with all the nicknames." Honey Lemon says.

"Who's Fred?" you ask.

"This guy, right here!" a voice behind you says. You turn around to see a giant fish...thing staring back at you. You squeal in surprise and jump back, bumping into Honey Lemon who laughs.

"Ah, ah. Don't be alarmed. This is not my real face and body." A hand reaches up and pushes the head of the mascot suit back, revealing a boy with a teal beanie and long blonde hair. He holds his hand out for you to shake, letting the mascot head fall back down until only his arm sticks out. He holds his hand out and you grab it, gently shaking it.

"The name's Fred. School mascot by day," he says, spinning a sign with the school name on it, "but by night, I am also a school mascot." he says as the head of the suit flips open and he gives you a proud look as he holds the sign.

"So, what's your major?" you ask him.

"Oh, no, I'm not a student here. But I am a major science enthusiast." Fred walks over to an armchair and plops down in it, tossing his sign off to the side.

"I've been trying to get Honey to develop a formula that will turn me into a fire breathing lizard at will," Fred holds up a comic book that shows a man transforming into a giant green lizard breathing fire, "but she says that's 'not science'." Fred says, making air quotes with his fingers at 'not science'.

"It's really not." Honey says gently as she stands behind Fred's chair. He puts his right leg up on one of the armrests and turns to look at her.

"Yeah, and I guess the shrink ray I asked Wasabi for isn't 'science' either, is it?" Fred says, gesturing to Wasabi and making air quotes around 'science'. Wasabi and Go Go walk over, and Wasabi crosses his arms over his chest and looks down at Fred.

"Nope." Wasabi says as he continues to look down at Fred, arms still crossed.

Fred sits up suddenly, an excited look on his face.

"Well then. What about...invisible sandwich? Imagine eating a sandwich but everyone just thinks you're crazy." Fred says and mimes eating a sandwich. You laugh at how enthusiastic he is about the idea.

"Just stop." Wasabi says and you shake your head, smiling. Honey Lemon walks over to you and puts an arm around your shoulder.

"Well, guys, I think it's time I take (Y/N) to her lab. Feel free to stop by and see us." Honey Lemon says as she leads you out of the main lab. You turn back to wave at Wasabi, Fred, and Go Go.

"Bye! It was nice meeting you guys!" you call and they all wave back. Thankfully, all of your stuff was already in your own lab, so you just had to go and unpack it. As you were walking down the hallway full of the private labs for students, you weren't paying attention where you were going. You were so focused on studying all the labs of the students and trying to sneak peeks at their projects that you didn't notice the boy walking towards you, stacked boxes blocking his vision. You ram into him and the boxes fall all over the hallway.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" you apologize. Honey Lemon notices what happened and rushes to help pick up the boxes.

"Oh, Tadashi! I was looking for you!" Honey Lemon says and you look up from the medical books you were putting back in a box. The boy you rammed into is about your age, with a San Fransokyo Ninjas baseball cap covering his black hair, a white t-shirt under a gray cardigan, brown pants, and mint-colored high tops. You immediately blush when he looks up and makes eye contact with you, giving you a super adorable smile. He then turns to look at Honey.

"Sorry, Honey, I was busy in my lab all day. Who's this?" the boy, Tadashi, asks.

"Oh, this is (Y/N)! She's a new student, a Robotics major, just like you!" Honey says and you look at Tadashi in excitement.

"Oh my gosh! You're a Robotics major, too?" you ask Tadashi. The three of you finish picking up all of the boxes and their contents, and Tadashi leads you and Honey to his lab.

"Yeah, I've always been into building things, and I want to help a lot of people someday. This is how I'm gonna do that." Tadashi says as he takes the boxes from you and Honey Lemon and puts them in various places around his lab. You look around but don't see any signs of a started or finished project in his lab.

"So, what are you working on?" you ask. Tadashi smiles knowingly, as if he has a secret he wants to tell you but can't.

"Well, I can't show you yet. It's still in its prototype stage. But once it's finished, I promise I'll show you." he says, and you smile excitedly.

"Sounds like a plan. I'm gonna hold you to it, so you better not forget." you tell Tadashi. He laughs.

"I won't. I'm sure you have some settling in to do, so I'll let you get back to it. I'll see you later, (Y/N). Oh, and it was nice to meet you!" Tadashi says as Honey Lemon leads you out of his lab. You turn to him and wave.

"It was nice meeting you too, Tadashi!" you called back. Honey Lemon led you to a lab right near Tadashi's, and you gasp in amazement.

"Wow! This lab is amazing!" you say. Your lab has a big circular window, like Tadashi's, that gives you a view of some of the other buildings on campus and some really pretty cherry blossom trees and some other flowers and trees, all in bloom and bursting with color.

"Glad you like it. It's also conveniently near Tadashi's." Honey Lemon says with a knowing smile and you look at her, confused.

"What do you mean?" you ask. Honey closes your lab door, then rushes over to you and grabs your hands.

"Oh, come on. I know you like Tadashi!" she says quietly. You give her a surprised look.

"What? I haven't even been here a day, I don't like anyone yet!" you protest and Honey just smiles and shakes her head fondly.

"Ok, sure. I won't tell anyone, promise." she says and you let go of her hands, rubbing them over your face.

"Honey..." you whine and look at her, trying to be serious. You end up laughing, though, and Honey does, too.

"How about I unpack first, then you can play matchmaker, ok?" you ask. Honey nods and starts helping you set everything up in your lab. While you're putting framed pictures of you with friends and family on your desk, Honey looks at you out of the corner of her eye.

"So, you want me to set you two up?" she asks, laughing.

"Honey!"

A/N jeez this was long. I'm glad I made it long though, because I feel like people like longer one-shots more (or at least I do). Anyway, I don't know if I'll continue this one as a mini-series or not, it depends on your opinions. Lemme know what you thought!
