Chapter 79 - The Company
"So you bought.. Heels?" Reid blinked as he opened up a parcel.
"Of course I did." Elijah nodded.
"Can you walk in them?"
"Baby, look at me." Elijah crossed his arms,"Now, ask that again."
"..Show me."
"You wanna see?" He chuckled.
"Of course." Reid nodded.
Elijah smiled and took the heels, sitting down to put them on. Once they were on, he stood up and smiled at Reid.
"They're massive. How can you walk like that?"
"Like this." Elijah smiled, walking around the room.
"Oh Jesus." Reid chuckled.
"You like?" Elijah put his hands on Reid's shoulders.
"You're taller." Reid hummed.
"Fun, isn't it?" Elijah kissed his cheek.
"No, I like being the tall one."
"Aw, well.. I'm the same height lying down."
"Calm down." Reid pointed.
"I'm just saying." Elijah brushed his hand against Reid's chest before starting to walk off.
"Don't- God, stop being hot." Reid groaned.
"Aw, can't handle it?" Elijah hummed.
"Shut up."
"Imagine these with my black dress."
Reid leaned against the wall, looking at Rigatoni,"What am I going to do?"
Rigatoni meowed up at him, head tilted.
"What do you want to do to me?" Elijah shrugged.
"Shush, Mr Deans." Reid pointed.
"Whatever you say, Agent Reid." Elijah looked back at him.
"You're going there?" He gasped.
"You went there first." Elijah crossed his arms.
Reid bit his cheek,"Take the heels off then."
"I like where this is going." Elijah bent down to remove his heels.
"Hush." He hummed.

Fleur was in the kitchen, putting away the dishes. Morgan stayed at the office so she had went home to feed the animals. But that's when her phone rang. Morgan was calling.. Was something wrong? Maybe a case?
"Don't tell me we have another case, I'm just home." Fleur sighed as she answered.
"It's not that." Morgan shook his head,"Sarah just called me."
"Okay.. Is she okay? Is it your Ma?"
Morgan sighed,"It's Desi.. She was in an accident."
"What?" Fleur stood up straight,"What kind of accident?"
"A car accident, she's in the hospital.."
"Do you need to go home? I can come with you."
"I do, and.. I need you here." Morgan told her.
"Of course. I'll meet you soon, 'kay?"
"Okay, I love you." Morgan nodded.
"I love you too, cherié." Fleur hung up before calling Elijah.
Elijah answered, out of breath, "Yeah, hun? What's up?"
"I need you to look after the pets." Fleur sighed,"Me and Derek need to go Chicago."
"Chicago? Did something happen?"
"His little sister got into a car accident."
"Shit- Is she okay?" Elijah asked.
"I don't know." She sighed,"I'll let you know more when I do."
"Alright, I'll be there to look after the babies."
"Thanks Eli." She nodded.
"It's not a problem, Flo."
Fleur hung up before grabbing her keys and running off.

Morgan was sat beside Desiree's hospital bed, Fleur at his side. He'd gotten Fran to go home and rest and promised he'd stay with her.
Desi shifted before chuckling,"Either my big brother's in the room or somebody else is wearing his nasty ass cologne."
"That's what I've been saying." Fleur smiled.
Morgan chuckled softly, sitting his cup of coffee behind him,"Well, hey there."
"Where's mom?" Desiree looked around.
"I sent her home. I wanted her to get some rest." Morgan leaned forward, against the bed,"Desi.. What were you thinking?"
"Who were you chasing?" Fleur sighed.
"I didn't see the driver." Desiree told them,"But the passenger.."
"Yeah?"
"It was Cindi."
Fleur looked at Morgan,"Aunt Yvonne's Cindi?"
"Yes." Desiree nodded.
"Desi... She's dead." Morgan sighed.
"I swear to God, she was as close as you are to me. Closer." Desiree insisted.
"You gotta listen to me. Sometimes our mind plays tricks on us. We invent things. It's why eyewitness testimony is unreliable." Morgan shook his head.
"No. When I got her to look at me, she didn't just recognize me, she said something. She said 'I'm sorry'." Desiree looked up at him,"Now, would I invent that? It was her."
"I need to call Hotch." Morgan shook his head.
"On you go. I'll stay here." Fleur assured him.
Morgan nodded as he waked off, taking out his phone to call Hotch
*********************************
Everyone was on the plane, heading to Chicago. They were on call to Morgan.
"So your cousin fled Chicago eight years ago because a co-worker was stalking her?" Emily asked.
"Yeah, a guy named John Hitchens. Cindi and Yvonne came to me and asked me if they should be worried. Her emails and phone logs showed classic stalker behaviour." Morgan sighed.
"Multiple messages every hour, gifts he sent that she later returned. That would enrage a stalker." Reid nodded.
"But until they became violent, they're smart enough to skirt the law. Human resources at the investment bank wouldn't do anything, and Chicago P.D couldn't. So Yvonne and I convinced Cindi to move. She contacted us from Charleston on her way to Savannah. And then she was gone." He explained.
"And Hitchens blew his brains out in Chicago two weeks later." Elijah shook his head as he played with his pen,"That was goof enough for the local P.D to conclude that he killed her."
"Except for one major detail. We never found the body." Morgan told them,"If his endgame was suicide, he wasn't organised enough to dispose of the body that permanently. That's why I never stopped looking. I just didn't think that she would surface right back here in Chicago."
"We need to reopen both cases. Both Cindi's disappearance and Hitchens' suicide. The discrepancies in each would explain her current behavior. Morgan, I need to talk to you when we land." Hotch informed him.
"I can't wait." Morgan sighed, hanging up.
*********************************
"So, Cindi had two stalkers." Morgan shook his head as he looked at the board.
"No, only one. Ford fits the profile better than Hitchens." Fleur looked up.
"Ford had multiple assault and harassment charges, all filed by ex-girlfriends and random women he met." JJ sighed.
"And Garcia found credit card purchases for black and white photographic equipment for Ford." Reid mentioned.
"So this guy killed Hitchens and then set him up." Morgan nodded.
"Behaviourally, it would make sense. If Ford was stalking your cousin, he would have seen Hitchens as competition, so he kills him and he plants the photos to throw off your investigation." Emily sighed.
"Hotch, I want to bring this guy in and question him personally." Morgan turned to him.
"Garcia just sent us his address... Morgan." He walked closer to him, lowering his voice,"Have you told your aunt about any of this?"
"She, uh... Yeah." Morgan nodded.
"We need to know how Ford found Cindi. So you need to ask her."
"Is that it?" He raised a brow.
"That's it." Hotch walked away.
*********************************
"After eight years in captivity at the hands of Malcom Ford, we believe Cindi Burns' ego has been shattered." Emily began the profile,"As a result, he could afford to give her some degree of freedom and trust that she would stay with him."
"Which is why it's going to be very difficult to get Cindi away from her captor. We believe she's suffering an extreme form of Stolkholm syndrome." Fleur sighed.
"He's got her to believe in the Company. It's a sadomasochistic roleplay scenario, a game, essentially, in which a cabal of men tell their submissives that they can sell their slsves on a whim. If you displease your master or try to escap, the Company will find you, kill you, and kill your family."
"The voluntary submissives understand that it's just a fantasy, but Malcolm Ford has gotten Cindi to believe that it's real." Hotch crossed his arms.
"The documentation we've found kn the Company informs our profile and will inform your manhunt, because it might point to where Malcolm Ford is now." Reid hummed.
"The language on their contract speaks of an underground network, which tells us that he has a few men he trusts." Elijah crossed his arms.
"Which means that what started as an S&M game could now be a ring." Fleur nodded.
*********************************
"Garcia, did you get a hit?" Rossi asked her.
"Yes. A 911 call at a grocery store identifying a couple matching their description. Now, Hotch and the gang on their way but you guys are closer." Garcia typed.
"Take a left." Fleur nodded.
"I got it. Hang on." Morgan turned the car sharply.
"There." Rossi pointed.
"I see him."
Morgan quickly pulled over Ford, three of them getting out of the car with their guns raised.
"Get out of the car and put your hands where I can see them." Morgan ordered.
Ford did as he was instructed, quickly getting out of the car with his hands up.
"Get down on your knees and put your hands on your head." Fleur pointed.
"Is there a problem, Ma'am?" Ford asked as Fleur pointed her gun at him.
Derek quickly opened the trunk of the car, looking around. Cindi was nowhere to be found.
"What do you got Morgan?" Fleur asked.
"Nothing." He called back to her.
"What do you mean nothing?" Rossi blinked.
"The car is empty." Morgan walked back over, his gun aimed at Ford.
"Morgan? Agent Derek Morgan?" Ford smirked,"Well, well."
"Where is she?"
"Where is who?"
"Where is she?" Morgan put his gun right into Ford's face.
Fleur looked at Morgan, reaching out to try and move his gun..But Morgan wouldn't move.
"Derek."
Morgan put his gun down slightly and Rossi stepped forward, grabbing Ford.
"Get up." Rossi then cuffed Ford, handing him off to an officer before looking at Derek,"Where are you going?"
"I'm going to ride back to the station with him." Morgan told him.
"No, you're going to stay here and process the crime scene." Rossi crossed his arms.
"Rossi, come on!" Morgan took a step forward.
"No." He pointed, walking off.
*********************************
"You ready for this?" Elijah asked, his hand on the door to the Interrogation room.
"Mhm." She nodded as the door opened,"So then I get home and, of course, she's still up past her bedtime."
"Ugh, it reminds me why I'm not married." Elijah rolled his eyes as he sat down.
"Neither am I, technically." Fleur shrugged.
Elijah chuckled,"Yeah, you're right. That's true. Do you guys ever..?"
"Oh." Fleur waved her hand,"I don't need a man to tell me what to do."
"Oh yeah." Elijah nodded.
"Excuse me." Ford blinked.
"Shh." Elijah put his finger over his lips before pointing at Ford,"The adults are talking. When it's your turn to speak, I'll give you permission, okay?"
"So anyway." Fleur hummed.
"Any sleep?" Elijah tilted his head.
"No, of course not.. What are we doing here anyway? Um.." Fleur looked through the pages of the files,"So yeah, Mal, you wanna confess now or just go straight to prison?"
"Look, my wife and I had a disagreement in that store, but-" Ford began.
"Whoa, wife?"
"You're married?" Elijah blinked,"No, this is about John Hitchens. His suicide is looking more like a murder, and the gun traces back to you."
"Okay, let's go talk to this wife." Fleur shrugged, standing up,"He's not talking."
"I don't know who this Hitchens person is, but if you had anything, you'd have charged me already." Ford shook his head, "You're here because of Cindi."
"Caught us." Fleur hummed, walking back over and sat down.
"You know what, this us my favourite part. This is where you hang yourself with your own tongue." Elijah leaned forward,"So please, keep talking."
"What are you doing here? Hm? What are you both doing here? You got a kid from a different man at home and you got a man you can't even marry. What are you both doing here?" Ford scoffed.
"Well, it's work. But we make it work." Elijah crossed his arms.
"Work. I know all about work. Negotiating who does the dishes, fighting over who folds the laundry. Except Cindi and I never fight. She knows her role."
"After you beat her into signing a contract." Fleur shrugged.
"What we have is a bond you know nothing about." Ford shook his head,"But I'll tell you about it...If you ask permission."
"Come on." Fleur got up.
"You're curious, aren't you? You want to know our secret." Ford smirked.
Elijah hummed, shaking his head as he walked to the door with Fleur.
"Please let me go back in there." Fleur walked out.
"No." Rossi shook his head.
"His guard is down. He thinks he can manipulate me."
"We can't give him what he wants. We need to keep him off balance." Hotch told her.
Morgan walked through,"Then let me go in. I can get into his head."
"Like he got into yours?" Rossi raised a brow.
"Look, I know I have no right to ask this, but please just trust me on this. I can break him."
Hotch looked at Morgan before nodding.
*********************************
Cindi had showed up, with her and Ford's lawyer. She was... Okay. And it seemed she was in love with Ford, not being forced.
"We need to rethink the profile. This ain't Stolkholm." Rossi shook his head.
"It could be battered wife syndrome." Emily suggested.
"No, it's not." Morgan stated.
"Morgan, the way they hugged each other, I think she genuinely loves him." Jl sighed.
"I'm telling you, that's not the woman I know. She wouldn't do that." Morgan insisted.
"Then what is it, Derek? Why would she behave this way?" Rossi shook his head.
"She said she needed to cook dinner for him. Is this what you make for your husband?" Morgan held up a tub, showing it to JJ,"Would you make this for Will?"
"No. I might for Henry, though." JJ shrugged.
"Exactly. When I was growing up, this is what Cindi and I ate. This exact brand." Morgan looked up,"Hotch, what did your mom make you for breakfast?"
"Oatmeal and orange juice." Hotch answered.
"And what do you make for Jack?"
"Oatmeal and orange juice."
"Same brand." Morgan nodded.
"Mhm, yeah." Hotch hummed.
"She might have been cooking dinner, but it was not for Malcolm Ford." Fleur looked up.
"You think they have a child?" Emily raised a brow.
"I do."
"We didn't profile that. There's no evidence of one in the home or in their lives." Reid shook his head.
"Unless Ford keeps the child from her to keep her in line. That fits the profile." Fleur pointed.
"It's a stretch." Rossi sighed.
"It's the only theory that would explain her behaviour." Morgan shook his head.
"Alright, Morgan." Hotch looked up at him,"Prove it."
*********************************
"You did it." Fleur sat down next to Morgan
"I never thought it would hapoen." Morgan shook his head.
"And you've got a nephew now." She smiled.
"I know." Morgan put an arm around her,"And I couldn't have done it without you and the team."
"I'd always help you." She looked at him.
"I know you would, babygirl."
"Malcolm Ford is one nasty man and I'm glad we got his ass."
"I'm glad too." Morgan sighed.
"Is your aunt okay?"
"I hope she will be now." He nodded,"Her baby is finally back home."
"Does it.. Ever make you want kids?"
Morgan smiled softly,"I've always wanted kids, Flo."
"Well, then that's something we can try for." She hummed.
"Really?" Morgan looked over at her.
"Yeah." She nodded.
Morgan kissed her cheek,"I love you, ma fille précieuse."
"Oh, you've been practicing." Fleur hummed.
"I have." Morgan chuckled.
"Très bien fait." She smiled.
"Merci." He smirked.
"Come on, let's go." Fleur stood up.
"Lead the way." Morgan hummed, taking her hand.
*********************************
"So? Tell me the secret." Reid sat down.
"Nope." Elijah hummed.
"Tell me how you walk in them."
"There is no secret, I just do it."
"Let me try."
"Are you sure?" Elijah chuckled.
"I'll be able to work it out." He shrugged.
"Alright dear." Elijah handed him the heels.
"Thank you." Reid sat down, putting the heels on.
Elijah sat back with his arms crossed, he didn't see this going well.
"Okay.. I'm doing fine." Reid walked shakily.
"Be careful." Elijah shook his head.
"I'm perfect."
"Honey, I already knew that." Elijah stood up.
Reid smiled softly as he walked, holding onto the wall.
"You're doing great."
"Yeah, exactly-" Reid began before he tripped over Horatio.
"Woah-" Elijah hurried forward to catch Reid.
"I'm okay." Reid laughed.
Elijah kissed his forehead,"I think that's enough of those heels for you."
"Aw." Reid sighed.
"Maybe you can try again tomorrow, alright?"
"Tomorrow..Yeah." Reid nodded.
"Come on, let's get you to bed."
"This early?" He hummed.
"It'll make tomorrow come faster." Elijah shrugged.
"Technically when we sleep-"
Elijah kissed him,"Baby, I know."
Reid chuckled,"Just saying."
