"what would you like for christmas?" mia asked, leaning closer to juyeon, as the boy hugged her tighter by her waist, cautious of the pain still present in there. "hmm...I have't really thought of it, what about you?"
mia seemed deep in thoughts, yet she had already made up her mind considering her christmas presents. the list wasn't as big as it used to, when she was a young girl with no big worries, but big dreams.
one; have a long-lasting and beautiful relationship with her boyfriend. two; have her friendship with kevin back, all safe and sound. and three; for him to find his true love.
mia had started longing for kevin, besides he was a part of her life that could oh so not easily get erased. her wishing for all of this to be just a dream seemed like nothing but a childish act. she was now a part of the 'big world', and losing people seemed easier than back then.
"I haven't either." she lied, as juyeon nodded and kept his stare glued at the christmas tree. him and mia had just finished decorating it, and both were astonished by how well decorated it was.
"it's because we did it together." mia said in a low voice, as if she just read his mind, and juyeon was shocked. "oi-that's what I was thinking, dude!"
"it's the soulmate braincells for me, dude!" mia knocked on his forehead, smiling as his face was still scrunched up in fear. "shit, I got scared." "as you should."
"anyways." juyeon started, as he took a deep breath that he didn't know he needed, then let it out slowly, as mia took a sip of her hot chocolate. "I was thinking-"
"whatever you think is a no, baby." she started, as juyeon pouted, then sealed her mouth with his big palm. "shut up shortie, and lemme share my marvelous idea!"
mia bit his inner hand, as he pulled away with a yelp of surprise. "you-you just-you just bit me!" she innocently shrugged, juyeon sticking his tongue out as he slid his hand over her shoulder, bringing her closer (if that's any possible).
"I was thinking of...introducing you to my parents this christmas." he said while playing with free hand, as mia side-eyed him from above her reindeer mug. "oh really?"
"yeah, I find this a rather great opportunity, plus my mom really wants to meet you." he voiced, mia's face grimacing in confusion. "wait-you've told your mom about me?"
"of course I did. didn't you?" he raised a brow, as mia followed suit while innocently sipping on her chocolate. "kang mia?"
"I've been so caught up with work-" "I'm also caught up with work, but I found some time into my absolutely hectic schedule to talk about you!" "well, I'm sorry about my hectic ass too, but I have way more work than you do!"
juyeon looked at her with a hanging mouth, as mia realised what she had just said, her hands being brought up to her mouth. "oh my! juyeon, I-I didn't mean it that way-"
"it's fine, besides you spoke the truth. you have been way more busy with that new intern than with me, but I understand, mr yeo decides for whatever, even for our life!"
mia didn't know how to respond to this, especially when her ex was brought up (unbeknownst juyeon). the raven was completely oblivious of reality, at the way mia would suddenly get all uncomfortable when entering the office (he would correlate it to the fact that she was on her 'special days').
she turned her head and found juyeon being a pouting mess, hands crossed over his chest. she chuckled, surprising the boy who had furrowed his brows, till they formed a thin line over his eyes. "you find it funny?"
"you are just so damn cute!" mia reached her hand out to pinch his cheek, yet he pushed her hand away. she looked at him in pure shock. "okay, that's not good."
"of course it's not good. you haven't talked about our relationship to your parents, which shows that you aren't even excited about it! am I this boring? tell me so that I can change it!"
she bit her bottom lip, trying not to laugh at how his eyes had almost popped out of their sockets, his hair a mess from him fixing them out of nervousness. "juyeon baby, you don't have to change anything. you are perfect the way you are!"
"I'm sorry, my parents should have been the first ones to know. maybe I was just so caught up to this relationship, or even from stress. but I should have talked to them, I'm literally sorry."
to say that she looked desperate would be wrong, cause she was just trying to get both of them out of this trouble. juyeon saw how her eyes screamed sincerity, as he sighed and inched closer to her.
"I'm sorry too, I acted all childish and such." he mumbled, as mia smiled, placing her mug on the coffee table and embracing him. "we acted all childish and such."
juyeon nodded with his head on her chest, as he nuzzled closer, the sweet scent of hazelnut perfume making his lips twitch into a warm smile. "I love you."
"I love you too, croissant stealer." she smiled, brushing her hand through his silky hair, that felt soft under her touch. soon, her face lit up, a gasp escaping his lips, that made juyeon flinch.
"is that considered as our first fight?" mia asked, as the boy laughed, before he took a stray strand of her hair and put it at the back of her ear. "maybe, like a mild form of fight."
she hummed. "I don't wish for any big ones tho, so don't get me wrong." juyeon nodded, a soft kiss being placed on top of her head as she took her mug once again and drunk some of the remained beverage. "want some?"
juyeon grabbed the cup and brought it to his lips, drinking some too. "mhmm, that's what I call chocolate. did you make it by yourself?"
"yup, with my grandma's recipe." she said, holding the mug as she stirred what had remained by swirling it. juyeon found the atmosphere awkward, fearing that he just said something he shouldn't have.
"don't worry, she's fine, just that I haven't seen her in years, and that makes me sad." she said, juyeon nervously chuckling as his hand clenched the cloth near his heart. "two times in a day, can you just stop being scary?"
"you find me scary, but I found you easy to read." she said, booping his nose as he closed his eyes. "is that so?" "you're like an open book, juju."
he tapped his chin a few times, pretending to think as he let out a chuckle. "it's the soulmate braincells for me." he said, mia smiling.
he leaned closer, their lips locking in a sweet kiss mixed with love and hot chocolate, as sweet and warm as they both wanted it. juyeon could feel how her lips twitched in a small smile in between the kiss, and he couldn't help but do the same.
and this is how juyeon and mia shared their first ever christmas kiss, right under the mistletoe she had just hang, the twinkling green, yellow and red lights showering them with a christmacy warmth that both cherished sharing together.
together.
