Marnie met Lando next to reception, a smile on her face as the two left the hotel together.

"Charles is annoyed at me." Lando stated suddenly.

"And why's that?" Marnie wondered, her eyebrows furrowed.

"I think he's annoyed that we ditched him last week." Lando told her with a small laugh.

Marnie shook her head. "I told him we were going outside. I wasn't joking when I said I needed air."

"He probably doesn't believe that considering we were in the smoking area." Lando commented.

"You hear the best gossip in the smoking area Lan." Marnie reminded him. Lando smiled slightly at her, his cheek tinting pink at the nickname that he still wasn't over.

"You're right, Nina." Lando nodded. "We did then leave though."

"Yeah, for maccies!" Marnie exclaimed. "I needed it."

"I know, I paid." Lando replied, his face teasing. "How did Max react when you returned?"

"He was sat in reception awaiting my arrival. Usually he goes out but P and Kelly were there so they had dinner instead." Marnie stated. "He didn't react badly, just laughed at me, sent a video to our family group chat and sent me to bed."

"You have a family group chat?" Lando asked.

"With Max?" Marnie looked over. "I have two. One with me, Max and Kelly because we live together and so we need to be able to communicate. And I have one with me, my parents and Max because Max is basically a Santos at this point. He might as well change his name."

"Yeah but I don't think Max Santos has the same ring as Max Verstappen." Lando told her.

"You're right." Marnie agreed.

"I think it's cute Max is in your family group chat." Lando stated, a small smile on his face.

"That's the way it's always been." Marnie shrugged. "I met Max when I was a baby and he became my best friend almost straight away. We've done some crazy shit over the years and we bicker all the time and people don't understand our relationship but he's my brother and I love him and always will so he deserves to be in the family group chat. We're more of a family to him than Jos is."

"It's nice." Lando responded. "That he has someone like you, healing his inner child. It's chaotic. Fun to watch but utter chaos and I think that is what family is."

"Poetic." Marnie commented, making the boy laugh and push her gently.

"Shut up."

"I get it though." Marnie stated. "What family is. You're right. Fun to watch but utter chaos and you'd never have it any other way. That's why I'm so grateful for Max. Can't imagine being an only child."

"I can't believe you are." Lando said.

"Mum never wanted a big family. Said she'd rather had a small family where everyone truly loved each other than a big one full of drama." Marnie explained. "I think she'd love a big family now though, where everyone is off doing other things."

"You can just take the grid to your house and pretend." Lando suggested jokingly.

"I know you're joking but my mum would actually have a field day." Marnie smiled. "I'll have a chat with Max about that one."

"Could be a youtube video." Lando added.

"Yes!" Marnie exclaimed. "The office style where Oscar can be Jim and make eye contact with the camera because he gives off those vibes. And everyone could have little interviews about how they're feeling. A-And I can give some people their own camera to film and then I can edit together."

"It'll be like an episode of keeping up with the Kardashians." Lando commented.

"Real Housewives of F1." Marnie corrected, making Lando laugh loudly, before she added. "You can even invite Max. And Danny will come, and all of the girlfriends."

"That's a lot of people Marns." Lando stated.

"Exactly." Marnie smiled. "Fun to watch, utter chaos, mum happy. Family."

"Family." Lando echoed. "You gonna invite everyone."

"Probably not." Marnie made a face. "Or I will and just have an adults adults table for like the older more mature people like, my mum, Checo, K-mag, Nico, Fernando, Bottas, Lewis."

"And we're at the kids table?" Lando wondered.

"No, I'm sure some will bring their actual children, P, K-Mag's kids etc. That's the kid's table. We're at the fun table." Marnie explained.

"Who's at the fun table?" Lando asked.

"Me, Kika, Alex, my Dad, Lily, Charles, maybe Max, your Max, Danny, Heidi, Pierre, Logan, maybe Oscar, George." Marnie listed. Lando raised his eyebrows at her. "And you, you muppet."

"Just making sure." Lando held his hands up in mock surrender.

Marnie laughed softly before the two fell into silence, simply walking down the street next to each other. The brunette looked around before she glanced over at Lando.

"What are we doing?" Marnie wondered.

"I don't know, you asked to hang out." Lando shrugged. "You said you needed to film."

"Do you remember everything I say or something Lan?" Marnie smiled, raising her eyebrows at him.

Lando opened his mouth to respond but no words came out. His eyebrows furrowed slightly, a small blush forming on his cheeks. "Uh, n-no, I-I don't—what?"

"I'm messing with you." Marnie broke out into a fit of laughter. "Oh you should have seen your face."

"Alright, funny one." Lando retorted sarcastically.

"Come on let's do some filming!" Marnie exclaimed, grabbing Lando's hand and pulling him into a random café so they could start.

The two spent the day together, filming and simply enjoying their time before all the race stress got to Lando. They were walking back to the hotel when Max, Alex, Charles, George and Logan walked into the reception area.

"Ah, there you two are!" Max exclaimed. "We've been messaging you."

"Sorry." Marnie shrugged. "Phone's on silent."

"What's up?" Lando wondered.

"We're heading out for food, wanna come?" Charles asked.

The two nodded, the group all heading out of the hotel where two cars were waiting for them. George, Alex, Lando and Charles went in one car while Logan, Marnie and Max went in the other.

"Does Charles hate you that much that he would rather forth wheel the 2019 rookies then be in a car with you for like ten minutes?" Marnie asked Max as the two climbed in the backseat.

"Apparently." Max nodded, making a face.

The girl laughed, turning to face Logan, having never met the boy before. "Hi!"

"Hi." Logan replied, his eyes widening ever so slightly at the enthusiastic girl.

"I'm Marnie." Marnie introduced herself, holding her hand out for him to shake.

"Logan." He took her head with a small smile. "Alex told me a lot about you."

"Alex talks about me." Marnie placed a hand over her heart.

"Yeah, he tells me a lot about you." Logan nodded. "He especially likes to tell how you steal his girlfriend, I've been on the receiving end of many rants about that."

"Well I can't help it that Lily is god's gift to the Earth and loves me more than him." Marnie shrugged with a small laugh. "And you can tell him that."

"Next time he rants I will." Logan nodded.

"Good." Marnie responded with a nod. "And, uh, just to let you know, the easiest way to get Alex to shut up when he's ranting is to give him a cheese string and validate his feelings, and when he's ranting about Lily just remind him that, unfortunately, Lily is his girlfriend... she chose him."

"Thanks for the advice, Marnie." Logan sent her a smile.

"You're very welcome, Logan." Marnie spoke before she gasped, pulling her phone out of her pocket. "Wait, let me follow you on everything. And give me your number because you're the best and I adore you."

Marnie quickly followed the boy on Instagram and Twitter before she allowed him to type his number in on her phone. Marnie then messaged him so he had her number.

"And now I'm gonna add you to every group, or create new ones so you can be in them." Marnie told the boy.

"Thanks Marnie." Logan replied, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. "Y'know, you're the first person to add me on everything."

"I'm what—it's the second race weekend and everyone hasn't added you?" Marnie's eyebrows knit in confusion.

"Well, some people but not everyone." Logan explained with a shrug. "But it's fine. I'm new so... it's not like I expected everyone to follow me straight away."

"Do you follow Logan, Max?" Marnie spun to face her best friend.

"Well... uh... I don't think so." Max stammered out an answer.

"Follow him right now." Marnie demanded. "And I will get the others to follow you too. Everyone should be friends with you, you are amazing and I've known you for about ten minutes."

"Oh, you don't have to." Logan shook his head but Marnie already had her mind set.

"I am going to because no one disrespects my new found favourite American, Logie." Marnie smiled widely, placing her head on his shoulder.

Logan's eyes widened slightly, looking over at Max. "Is she always like this?"

"With every single person she's ever met, yes." Max nodded.

"And you wouldn't have me any other way would you Maxie?" Marnie scrunched her nose up at him.

Max bopped her nose with a small laugh. "Not in my wildest dreams, Marns."

"We're here!" Marnie exclaimed when the car came to a stop, Max turning to open the door and climb out first, Marnie and Logan not too far behind him.

Lando and the others were climbing out of the other car, the boy's attention being immediately drawn to Marnie, only to find her laughing with Logan. The brunette was laughing loudly at something Logan had said, leaning on him for some sort of emotional support.

Lando leant closer to Alex, "Why is your new teammate cozying up to my... to Marnie?"

"Uh..." Alex followed Lando's gaze to the girl and then turned back to Lando, an amused smile on his face. "I'm not sure."

"They've been like that the entire drive." Max suddenly piped up, joining the conversation. "I think Marnie loves him."

"L-Loves him?" Lando spluttered out.

"Yeah, like she adores him." Max nodded, a small smirk on his face.

"Hmm, how lovely." Lando forced a smile.

"Uh, guys, I have a bone to pick with all of you." Marnie stated loudly, dragging Logan over to the rest of them. "Get your phones out, right now, all of you."

The boys all shared a confused look before each getting their phones out. Marnie smiled, waiting for them to do so. "Oh wait, not you Alex." Alex furrowed his eyebrows before putting his phone away again. "Okay, no go onto instagram, yep, now go to search, uh huh, and type in Logan Sargeant, yep, now press follow. Thank you."

"Uh... what was that Marnie?" Charles wondered.

"You all needed to follow Logan because you weren't already and that's mean." Marnie explained bluntly before she turned to Logan. "If they make you feel left out ever just let me know and I'll knock some sense into them. And if you ever need someone to do American traditions with, I'm your girl, I'm always down to do... absolutely anything."

"Thanks Marns." Logan sent her a soft smile.

"Well, I'm starving, let's get to it." Lando interrupted, gesturing to the restaurant they were all stood outside off.

"Yes let's go!" Marnie spoke, grabbing Logan's arm and pulling him into the restaurant alongside her, unaware of the glare Lando had settled on the back of Logan's head.

"If looks could kill man." George commented with a small laugh.
