The Cursed temple Of Kiradu
Temple of Kiradu
Introduction -
Our country, India, is the land of different cultures and traditions and that is why in every corner of our country you will find some such places and stories related to them which would be very interesting.
I would like to tell you all about Kiradu, a small town located about 30-35 km from the Barmer district of Rajasthan, where people consider the temple cursed. Yes, this city is so small and hidden that despite having a big history of itself, people know a little about it.
History -
So, during the Parmar Dynasty around the 11th century, King Dushan Raja had built around 108 temples in Kiradu, out of which only 5 temples survived over time. One of these temples is the cursed temple of Kiradu.
Now, we all know that any monument or old fort always has a unique story attached to it, just like the Kiradu temple has its own story. Because of which it is believed to be Cursed.
To know its story, I will tell you first the various things said by the people. The people believe that at night around the temple strange-shaped figures can be seen. Along with this, different types of voices also come from there. People even say that one should not even pass through the road near the temple at night, otherwise a shadow of bad luck will fall upon you.
The old memories of many elderly people are full of such things in which people passing near the temple at night fell ill, their financial difficulties increased, or else they became a victim of an accident. The one link in all these stories is the night which is also related to the original story of this temple.
It is believed that King Someshwar of the Parmar Dynasty in the 12th century invited a Maharishi (great sages) to his kingdom so that he could maintain the peace and happiness of his kingdom by worshiping, etc. This is because after the war restlessness was all over the people. Maharishis along with his disciples performed havan and worship in many parts of the temple and his penance lasted many days. After all this, Rishi Muni left with their other companions but they left one of his disciples in the temple so that he could maintain an atmosphere of peace in the state while worshipping continuously.
There was prosperity among people and progress of the whole state also started, but guys, seeing this progress, the king forgot that all this was due to the continuous worship of a priest. On the other hand, the priest left in the temple by Maharishi was absorbed in their workday and night, but there was no one to ask about him, with time the weather changed and it rained.
The priest fell ill in that month. He asked for help but no one came to help him, due to which he died. When Maharishi and his disciples came to know about this, they came to the temple at night, where they found the body of their disciple. In anger, Maharishi gave a curse to that place according to which, if any person steps inside the area of this temple, then that person will become a statue of stone because all the people of this state are stone-hearted.
Now, because Maharishi gave the curse at night, so whoever used to come around this temple at night, used to turn it into a stone.
There is another version of the story in which the priest does not die, but after listening to his request, the wife of a man who builds the house helps the priest and takes care of him. When the Maharishi comes here with his disciples, he cursed the whole kingdom except this family who kept the priest alive. Maharishi says that till evening the whole kingdom will turn into stone and the family of the housebuilder will leave this place before evening. But unfortunately, in the evening the wife of the housebuilder comes to see her house for one last time and she too turns stone on the outskirts of the city. This idol is still visible on the outskirts of the city.
Now, there is a third version of this story. According to this, when Maharishi and his disciples came to this village, some people sent him Panchmukhi alms, but some people give alms through 3 fingers, due to which Maharishi got angry. He cursed the whole state, according to which the whole state will turn into stone in the evening. Now the priests told this those people who had given the Panchmukhi alms given so that they could leave before the evening, but those who stayed here after the evening turned into stone.
Incidents -
Now, the shocking thing is that such a simple story of the place has a great impact on the local people that even after so many years, the local people never showed the course to go to that temple or its surroundings after evening time.
In modern days, Kiradu's temple become very famous due to its amazing architecture and gradually it turned into a sightseeing place but there will not even be a single guide who has not told this story to the tourist. There is not even a single guide ready to take you after evening.
During normal days, there is a lot of hustle-bustle like any other city, but in the evening, this place turns into a deserted area.
Many paranormal investigators have visited this site to test the truth of the stories of the temple. One of these investigations was performed by Indian Paranormal Investigator, Jai Alani. Jai, during his investigation, experienced those things which other investigators did not notice.
For example, Jai experienced all those things experienced by previous investigators. First of all, they installed cameras around the temple. Then according to legends, they started their investigation here at night. Jai entered alone in the temple and even after staying for a long time, he did not feel any kind of energy. On the EM sensor, they detected some strange sounds but according to Jai, it's due to weak radio waves, and receiving these waves is normal in this area.
Conclusion -
The important thing considered on the paranormal sites is a sudden drop in the temperature. Jai explained that the temple is made of a specific type of stone that stays hot because of the sun throughout the day, now comparatively some dark places stay away from the sun, the temperature there is very low. So that's why too much temperature difference is seen. At the end of the investigation, Jai explained that the people who visit this type of location already prepare their mind that they are gonna experience something strange or are already so scared that their mind after looking smallest of small things they exaggerate and start giving imaginative explanations.
Like seeing something connected to ghosts or finding shapes and figures in patterns etc. After listening to the urban legend about Kiradu, even in today's time, by looking at the belief associated with this, it can be clearly said that to what extent such a story can affect society.
There is also a notable point that in the 12th century, lots of damages were done to the temples of Kiradu by the invaders and in someplace this belief of cursed Kiradu temple has also worked to protect the temple of Kiradu. Another funny thing is that no information has been given related to the construction of the temple in stone engravings and near the temple, for the time being, that is, in the present time, people are going near the temple even after Sunset and with time, people are losing their trust in these stories, because of this people keep coming here by any time.
