Chapter 5 - Anger

Ink's POV

I checked the time as I unlocked the coffee shop. It was eight in the morning and traffic was beginning to grow busy. People would soon want to get caffeine to be able to survive the day at their boring jobs.

The café was empty, giving me time to clean the tables and wipe the windows. I enjoyed cleaning alone since it helped me clear my mind.

I heard the bell chime, telling me that someone had entered the building. Sky was there when I looked up to see it was. He smiled at me before heading to the back to put on his apron and turn on the machines.

Me: I have a question for you.

  I yelled to him.

Sky: What is it?

He yelled back from behind a wall.

Me: Why is your name spelt with an A instead of an E?

Sky: My mom wanted my name to be a little different so she spelled my name with an one letter difference. I don't hate it but I have to sometimes correct people.

Sky appeared again, walking to the front so he could turn on the "Open" sign. I joined him behind the counter and waited for people to enter the room.

Not even thirty minutes later, the café was soon extremely busy. I was bouncing around, serving people and cleaning tables for the next group of costumers.

I was blending cream for coffee when I looked up at the window. I noticed something wrong with the reflections. The reflection showed the room to be empty but... it clearly wasn't.

There was a black skeleton writing in a notebook, a green haired woman standing at the counter and someone just leaving the building.

As I handed the drink to a costumer, I looked at Sky with a concerned look.

Me: Do you notice something wrong with the reflection of the window?

He looked up and glanced at the glass.

Sky: No? It looks the same.

Me: Because it is not showing that this room is busy.

Sky: Are you on drugs or something?

Me: No, drugs are illegal.

I sighed before going back to my spot to fill another order. Looking up, I saw that the reflection was back to normal.

'What happened? Was I imagining it?'

(Time Skip)

I sat on my couch while drawing with Bean sleeping on my lap. There was a smile on my face as I was in a calm mood. However, my peace was shattered when I heard a knock on the door.

After Bean jumped off my legs, I stood up and headed towards the door. Burn was shown when I pulled it open. My breathing stopped for a second but I pretended to smile.

I went to hug him but I instantly smelled perfume which belong to that of a woman. I backed away and slightly glared at him.

Me: Why do you smell like a woman?

Burn broke eye contact which continued to raise my suspicion.

Burn: I-I met up with one of my female friends.

He said as he looked to his right. I caught something on his neck. My hand shot up to his collar and pulled back the fabric. I saw a hickey on his neck.

I backed away and felt my voice show a betrayed tone.

Me: You... cheated on me?

Burn: Yeah... but she's nothing like you.

Me: That's such a lie. You never wanted me to leave a hickey on you.

He suddenly began to yell me.

Burn: Well, we all have our flaws. Yours is eating too much. You need to eat less.

My eyes widened and tears threatened to form at corners of my eyes. I looked at the floor, clenching my hands.

Me: Get out.

  I whispered quietly.

Burn: What did you say?

Me: I said get out!

I pushed him out of my apartment.

Me: We are done! I don't want to see you ever again!

I yelled before slamming door shut, locking it quickly before he could barge in. I rested my head against the wood and let my tears out.

There was a small pat on my leg. Bean stared up at me with his little paw touching on me. I smiled sadly before picking him up and hugging him. However, what Burn said to me stuck in my mind.

'Maybe...

I should stop eating
