52: CHRONICLES OF COCO (PART 8)

I was really expecting a lot from the torture that Ebu threatened me with to bring out information from me. It turned out that Ebu became even more frustrated rather than wickedly satisfied from our morning sessions of torment and demise because I wasn't screaming as she expected me to be.

"Answer me!" she squawked and scourged my back with her metallic whip. I was seriously stultified. We've been at here for three days and all she ever asked me was what my relationship with Chaos was rather than the crucial situation at hand that their precious Light Stone was stolen.

I let out an exhausted sigh. "I told you we're only friends. Stop being jealous for nothing." If she was getting worked up because of my nightly hang outs with Chaos I should have sexed the ayken up from the moment he confessed that he was interested in me sexually.

Ebu gave a scoff and I rolled my eyes. "You think I'll listen to a criminal like you? I won't even spare you even if you beg!"

Now that was scoff-worthy.

"Alright lady, first of all who said I'll be begging? And second of all, I know you won't listen that's why we're still down here wasting time and energy on questions that don't even matter!" I snapped.

My voice at the end of my statement got deeper and menacing causing the jelly like walls to jiggle and the cell door shake a bit. The chains keeping me spread out from above the floor rattled as well but the priestess was undeterred because she was obviously and undeniably an idiot. When Esgard designed her he forgot to put a brain up there and some common sense.

Ebu snorted and landed another whip on my back. I already told her that I was a fast healer but she wanted to test how fast my healing process was. I think the fact that her whip was ineffective against me made her frustrated even more.

"And what makes you think I'll listen to you?!"

Oh God why?

Rupture came to my cell with an expression that indicated grave news which abruptly stopped Ebu from asking me about Chaos again.

"Milady, reports came from refugees and they stated that their villages are in mayhem."

The priestess released a low growl. "What? What happened?"

Ebu happened.

"They claimed that a handful of villagers went into frenzy and started attacking," he replied dutifully.

I think this meant that Ebu will finally leave me be—

"That's not our priority now! Can you not see the situation at hand? I'm still interrogating this criminal! I will not stop until he finally admits his crime and until due punishment is given! Turn away any villager that comes and make them resolve their own problem for we have our own!" she ordered.

At that point my patience started to crack.

"But Mibirdy isn't it your duty as a priestess to ensure that your people are safe?" I sweetly asked and gave the bewildered Rupture a wink. I can tell by his expression that he could not believe what the priestess just ordered him.

This woman was turning away innocent people and was prioritizing a 'criminal' who was not even proven guilty yet because she was a jealous and possessive wretch. A giggle erupted from my mouth which caught Rupture and Ebu off Guard.

Kill...

Destroy...

Annihilate...

I felt the coldness of the whip land straightly on my cheek and at the side of my neck and shoulders leaving a warm ooze of blood to finish her masterpiece. A small smile worked its way on my lips and I reopened all my wounds which came from her whip causing the Knight before me to look at me with horrified eyes.

"Silence! How many times do I have to tell you that you are not allowed speak when you are not questioned?!" she snarled at me before cackling out loud from the sight of my skin. "And you said my whip was no match? How does it feel to bleed from the rule of order criminal?"

Criminal?

Do you really desire to see a true criminal?

My heart started to hasten in its pace and joy spread within me which was the complete opposite of my pleading expression towards Rupture.

I was wounded and bruised all over and blood dripped from the tips of my toes and from my lips trembling in woe.

"Those poor innocent people will fall into the same predicament as me by the hands of this woman...You won't let that will you Rupture?"

As a God, I shall permit your demand. I will show you something that will surpass any criminal.

My groin started to grow warm and a different kind of force was brought out of me unknowingly. A tingle of excitement ran up and down my spine when Rupture took a step inside of the cell.

"What are you still doing here Rupture? Get there and order the other Knights to draw back the refugees!"

Rupture took his lengthy battle ax that was hanging from his back and Ebu's intelligence finally came out from its hiding spot. Her staff that was floating from behind her emitted a bright green light but I repelled the magic that would pin Rupture down.

I couldn't control what I was doing.

I didn't realize the anger and desire that molded me at that point.

I just know that the words that I kept hearing the moment I was born started to reoccur again controlling my mind and heart and bringing out the God within me which then hypnotized Rupture. The Knight severed the chains that held me up and I leered sweetly at the priestess.

"Why don't you repeat what you said about shunning the refugees?" I grabbed her beak and yanked her down so that I can stand face to face with her. I won't have Rupture chop her up and end her misery that quickly. I have plans.

I have many plans.

I grabbed her nape and gazed straightly at her eyes which reflected my own glowing ones.

"But this time...I want you to say that in front of everyone."

...

...

...

...

...

Wails of agonized pleas filled the temple and the refugees were gathered in front of the tall statue which ones held the Light Stone. The priestess stood prideful in front of everyone with Knights gathered close to her for security.

"People of Belraria, as you know we have a criminal in our temple. He is the criminal who has stolen our precious Light Stone and is currently under the due process of our law. I know that you have problems regarding your villages but that is not my priority at the current. I wish of you to return to your villages and resolve your problems on your own and with the guidance of our God Esgard, I know that we will be freed from the chaos brought upon in our world," she spoke causing a riot of upset comments from the bewildered needy.

"You're sending us away? Those people will kill us! Don't you understand how much we need your Knights and your power now?!" the female Toscan who sold bread at the village which I get to visit first spoke out loud.

"As I have said, we have our priorities," the priestess stood her ground which caused the spark of an uproar.

"You can't do this to us! You have a duty as the priestess of Esgard to protect your people!" another citizen spoke out.

"Those who go against the Priestess and her Knights will be punished. I ask you to leave quietly and handle the situation on your own," Priestess Ebu's voice became louder and more demanding which brought the people to rebel even more against her.

The people started to charge ahead but were blocked by the shields of the Knights standing their ground. Chaos was guarding behind her looking equally upset as the people protesting. He was too ambivalent to choose a side.

I looked at Rupture and then wrapped my arms around his neck. We were at the second floor of the temple witnessing the scenario below us. I inched my lips closer to his until they ghosted dangerously near his own.

"Serve me well..." I whispered and brought out my tongue to give his lips a tender lick that made his pupils darken with need.

"I will serve you with my life..." he firmly replied causing a short chuckle of satisfaction from me.

Rupture lifted me up from the ground and then leaped from the floor up to the balustrade of the corridor gathering the attention of Chaos and a few of the people in uproar. I lied loosely and vegetative in his arms while he spoke to draw the people's vote to us.

"The Priestess is a false prophet! Look at what she has done to this poor boy! She is a merciless barbarian...She cannot lead us with a dark heart of greed! She has done the unspeakable! My good people, my merciful people, my bereaved people...let us fight against the greedy and drag this false prophet to the a death that she will remember even in the afterlife!"

"Lies! That is the criminal that I have been talking to you about! Kill the traitor and throw them inside the furnace of justice!"

A sea of murmurs flooded the temple and the waters from the dam of revenge and uprising trampled the walls. "That boy! That boy was the one who saved our village! What have you done?!" The female toscan villager from before wailed in her trembling voice.

Raging shouts caused the priestess to cower behind Chaos who had a twisted expression. Even the Templar Knights decided to side with the people especially when they witnessed that one of the respected generals turned against the priestess.

"Save me from these people my love! Do not let them stain me with blood! I have done nothing but love you and Esgard. I deserve no hate but redemption!"

The Knights pointed their spears towards Chaos and once his raging expression broke into a line of lost, I knew I won.

"I never loved you. It's time to face the consequences of being a total bitch," Chaos announced with a playful grin before grabbing Ebu with one hand and  throwing her at the crowd. He grabbed the staff that attempted to chase its owner and broke it apart before throwing the two pieces at the side.

The refugees tore the priestess' clothing and her screams resonated at the temple.

The  once temple that she ruled became her temple of downfall. The people stripped her off of her dignity and each of them took their chances of giving her a physical kick to her pride and body. Each harsh words thrown and each painful punch tossed slowly closed the wounds which I reopened not a moment ago.

The things that I tried to prevent from happening naturally occurred.

The emotions that I tried to expel forcefully enrolled.

I desired what I hated and the God within me enjoyed every second of what was happening to Ebu.

What were you doing now Esgard? How do you feel about your prophet getting shamed from inside and out? What do you feel of having your temple of worship become the ocean for warships?

Why didn't you stop me from destroying your servant?

The people dragged her out of the temple and threw her at the scorching sands of Belraria bruised and bloodied up with featherless patches of her once gleaming body. Her wings were crumpled like paper and her once prideful and boastful storm became nothing but a trembling leaf which just miraculously came out from a hurricane.

Everyone came back inside with victorious cheers and Rupture brought me to my room and laid me beside my zeke. Chaos barged inside with a worried expression causing me to be in a pretentious sleep.

"You did well brother," Rupture congratulated.

"I only did what was right. How is he?" Chaos asked and sat at the edge of my bed before brushing the strands of my hair away from my face.

"The staff must have halted his healing capabilities but with it gone, he is now recovering faster," Rupture informed him.

I heard Chaos released a sigh of disbelief. "I can't believe she would do this. This is unspeakable..."

"I agree but now Kogen is nowhere to be found. Corlos needs his pai more than  anything," Rupture pointed out.

I felt Chaos rise up from my bed and his swift movements gathered the winds with him. "I'll look for him. Please take care of Corlos."

"Trust me I will," Rupture assured.

With Chaos gone, I reopened my eyes and slowly sat up. Rupture stood dutifully waiting for my orders and I was feeling generous. "Bathe me and then you may gather your reward," I seductively whispered.

Rupture fell on his knees with a face of plea and desire. "Please....I want you now. I will offer you my soul for a night with you..."

How can a God say  no when a soul was willingly offered?

I quirked my finger and Rupture, without a second wasted, immediately hovered on top of me. "You beg so nicely therefore I'll permit such plea. Harvest what you can from me and taste me for what I am..."

I provided what Rupture wanted and fed his desires with a poison that he cannot escape. He praised every inch of my skin with caresses and kisses and my mind was clouded by my own blinding victory and greed for more delicious fruits. I woke up bare skinned on top of my devotee and rose from the bed. I picked my zeke from the floor which rolled off from our wild actions and leaped out from the window to pay a little visit to the woman in the deserts.

I was buoyant for today's events but at the same time, a shadow of emptiness lingered beneath.

Ebu was still alive. She was trembling and speaking incoherent words. The cold of the desert did not affect me but it very well agonized her already slow and painful death.

The God within me rejoiced and the shadow of emptiness grew longer.

"How does it feel to bleed from the wrath of a God?" I asked her with a grin.

Ebu couldn't even open her eyes to look at me because of the swelling but she must have mistook me for Esgard which was an honest mistake that crushed the cruelest of  hearts.

"Oh God...Pl-please God....I want to die..." she wept in sorrow.

My eyes and ears gave way to the awakening of my conscience and the realization struck me so hard that I fell beside her weeping and silently screaming for my own actions. My zeke fell from my arms and my upper body curled over my folded legs. I grabbed hold of the sand beneath my palms and sobs racked my body.

What have I done?

"I'm sorry Ebu! I'm sorry...I'm sorry...."

No one deserved such shameful death. Despite the fact that Ebu was inconsiderate and selfish, she still had a heart that knew how to love and I was no God of this planet to judge and to bestow punishment to those that I didn't even create.

I gently held Ebu's hand bearing broken fingers and slowly grabbed her neck with my other hand to end her misery once and for all. My tears came in touch with her eyes while I gave broken sobs to pay tribute to a woman who was hated by all in an instant. My hand loosened from her neck once I felt that she was no longer with me.

The pain in my chest became unbearable that I began to hyperventilate from the turmoil of emotions. Just as the cold-blooded God engulfing me from before started to withdraw and my conscious opened deeper wounds of remorse, my zeke shone from its place robbing me of my wakefulness and numbing my self-destructing heart.

I blacked out after my zeke lit up but once I wake, a new war shall set out and it will be something that the God within me shall look forward to.
