10: Hello Annies My old Friends

They cannot sense me anymore...

I did not know if it was pure luck or it was because Kaisen was on my side at this point but they can no longer sense me.

I had circled almost half of the fallen city and every building that I had attempted to hide inside was destroyed by the punching robots. They peeled the roofs like they were opening a can of beans and they never gave me the chance to hide at all.

I was really being blessed by Kaisen. He wanted me to become a very trustworthy and skillful Paragon. I was honored.

At one high building that I was able to climb, three of the Annies that were able to track me down first surrounded the building that I was in. One of them walloped the building down which led me no other choice but to leap to another building but before I was give the chance to cross, an Annie was waiting for me at my leap to the other building.

Its fist made a sound of impending rise of doom and did not waste the opportunity to clobber me. Because of its powerful hit that sent my body soaring and crashing to the hard panels of walls and windows of different infrastructures, the other Annies were not given the opportunity to express their passionate hatred. My body continued to slide down to the floor when I landed from my flight and my system warned me of the damages caused by that punch.

Hardware damage is 35%

Software damage is 16%

Communication software failing...

Those did not sound good but I did not frequently communicate so perhaps I was lucky. I must continue being positive for positivity was what helped me continue to work under Bish-ssu. My previous employer never had a positive outlook in life but he had managed to become the President of the Paragons. He was an admirable and outstanding Aechean.

My body gave unrelenting release of spasms of electricity as it tried to recover from the blow.

What time was it?

Ah, it was 1:00 in the morning. Would I be able to attend my first day of class in the academy? My body was in severe pain. I did not want to disappoint Gilmos but I did not think that I can make it.

The Annies will be here anytime. I need to hide even if they can detect me. I willed my body to turn and lay on my stomach. Spasms continued to occur within me however I still urged myself to crawl despite the difficulty due to the pain all over my body. I found a curtain lying on the ground and I reached for it. My fingertips could barely graze the golden edges so I had to push my body to crawl a little more which only caused further pain.

Maintain the positivity Aecha. You must clear your mind of any dark clouds and see the Gilmos in every Bish. But Bish was still a very remarkable Aechean! Yes, he was a good man despite his rejections of my massage.

My arms were excruciatingly painful...

I often doubted my capabilities whenever Bish-ssu rejects my offers of rubdowns but I treat it as a challenge. There will be a day when I can finally give him his well deserved rubs because Bish-ssu was the best.

I cannot feel my legs...

I pulled the curtain and draped it over my body. The fast steps of the Annies were becoming more vivid as they got closer. I could feel them lurking around the building that I was in. I believe I was in the midsection of the edifice but even so, if they decided to knock this one down, I did not think I can survive a high fall.

I could already perceive the exhaustion in my body. This must be what Won felt every day. I just hope just this one time, they wouldn't see me. I want to rest and deal with them once I can recover at least half of my strength. I shut my eyes and felt my ticker racing.

If...If I were to become like my brothers, I would like Gilmos to end my life. I did not want to experience a slow death and if it was alright with Kaisen...I did not want the next child of Ecgtheow to know that there were robots designed to specifically annihilate him because he was not functioning as planned. It pained my ticker so much just thinking about my future younger brother experiencing this.

My eyes opened when I heard them walk away. The metallic stomps drew farther from where I lie.

They didn't sense me?

I thought of the various reasons for why did they not clobber this building down and I drew one possible conclusion: they can perceive my presence on signal and movement alone. Since my communication software failed, they didn't notice me. I guess these puncher Annies were different than the sword-wielding ones. The sword-wielding ones must have been activated because of physical contact. I was not sure of these theories. Won and I should have continued reading that information about annihilators but I understand that he was already exhausted.

A full-blown smile erupted on my lips and I silently hit my chest with my fist mouthing "Thank you Kaisen!"

Disabling communication software...

I removed the curtain on top of me and stared up ahead and then to my feet. They were really walking away. I looked to my side and found a gray cube. I reached for the medium size cube and twisted it in half. I pulled the two halves apart and a few bars of space food dropped out on my face. One bar touched my lips and I grabbed the opportunity to make it fall directly inside my mouth by opening my chops.

I was never fond of eating by mouth but...'

"This is good..." I moaned appreciatively.

I continued eating in this position and the food aided my body in its healing process. Each bite gave me hope of taking down some of the Annies until Gilmos came.

I covered myself with the curtain and decided to take a nap. I had my system to shut all functions in my body for 30 minutes so that it can recover even faster.

"I thank the person who left that meal...I apologize for eating it without permission..." I mumbled against the curtain.

30 minutes passed and I heard my system reboot bringing all functions.

I have recovered 20% of my hardware damage and 16% of my software damage. I made sure that my communication software was disabled and I sat up feeling better than before. I looked around in this floor and found weapons which I included in my crate. There were these knuckles which was similar to Hoets.

I scanned the area and found that the Annies were walking aimlessly around the city. I need to at least try and take down one and see if my strength can match up against them.

There was one at the left side and two on my right.

There were thirty of these Annies...thirty robots which can aid me in defeating Necron.

"No...I need them..." I murmured.

If I can utilize anything that can help me with my birth mission, then I shall do so even if it meant endangering myself.

Since they can no longer sense me, this will be a great opportunity to sneak out and leave the city. I was very sure that Team Ske already escaped.

I stealthily made my way past the Annies walking by and quickly took out the smaller animalias in my way. All of my stealthy ways paid off when I arrived at the base of the stairs towards the exit.

I started to climb the stairs and with the final step I took my time so that I can savor the sweetness of my silent victory. As my last foot removed itself from the last heap of stairs, the ground intensely trembled.

I twirled around and found the Annies sprinting towards me.

They will never let me go won't they?

I faced the entrance and began to sprint ahead of them. I was so close. I cannot believe that they were still able to locate my presence despite the fact that I have been very furtive.

I heard the Annies breaking the down things which were in their way and I enabled my communication software so that once I get outside of here, I shall contact anyone who was open for help or warn any citizen nearby about rampaging robots whose aim was to treat me as a punching bag.

I successfully exited the tunnel where we came and was welcomed by the woodland. The Annies pulverized the tunnel which was too short for their height and their speed increased to match mine.

I did not think that I can pay for the damages done to this property but Bish-ssu had many businesses and he had lots of money to spend.

My speed caused no harm to the trees around me but the robots' weight and speed broke everything that surrounded their path and even the soil beneath their feet.

I scanned the area and found different creatures whose attention was caught by the rampaging chase I was in.

"Excuse me, I mean no harm!" I screamed and then pointed at the Annies behind me. "But they do so please move!"

The creatures did move away sensing great danger by the creation of the men who were deemed to be protectors of Aecha.

The Annie who was in the very front of the chasing robots reached for me.

I was proud to be Ecgtheow's child. So even if they caught me, I shall not deter. I shall not fear anyone. I will clash with them if that was what they desired.

The Annie grabbed me by my hips which stopped the train of battle cries occurring in my head. Was this still negotiable? I was not good at negotiating so maybe I can refer them to Bish-ssu. I believe Bish-ssu had many talented doctors if ever the negotiations fail.

"Wait, please hear me out! I was adopted by Eggtho! You got the wrong Aechean!"

What did I just say?

I was put on a pressure, I am sorry eomma!

Instead of being clobbered like I expected to be, I landed on the shoulder of the Annie that grabbed me. I held on tight on its conveniently placed handle located on its nape and looked behind me.

They were all focused on heading straight. They didn't seem to have any intentions to slaughter me like before. What caused the change of their mission?

They were made to annihilate me but aside from that, they were also made to serve me during a Necron invasion.

My eyes widened in pure realization of the sudden shift of the Annies' behavior.

I did wish my hypothesis was wrong but I shall see for myself.

The Annies began to slow down their pace and my eyes scanned the area. We were in a stream where an ursidae (Bear) with light blue fur was catching food. I did not have much clue of what a Necron seemed to be but there wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Did the Annies bring me here so that they can have a beautiful view of nature while they end my life? I did not think that they can be thoughtful.

I caught a slow rise of unfamiliar energy swirling just beside the ursidae which also caught the animalia off guard.

"Run!" I shouted at it.

The ursidae growled and faced at our direction. A purple portal-like structure occurred behind it and dark and sharp claws which were the biggest claws I have ever seen lashed out and grabbed the ursidae in a quick flash of movements before dragging the creature inside the portal that closed abruptly. Those claws had that visible murky air oozing from their flesh. They were soggy and its digits were thin and bony. Just reminiscing how they look like made me feel that uncomfortable chill in my body.

Some of the Annies including mine leaped to where the ursidae was last seen. I jumped down from where I stood to inspect the occurrence.

It didn't leave a trace.

The portal just disappeared. The robots I was with made a sharp sound like they were trying to attract my attention. I looked at them and found that they were staring above the dark sky.

The portal reopened and released the bear to our place. The annie grabbed me and they all leaped back. The ursidae did not have its majestic color anymore. It had this scent which was a repulsive rotting odor. Its new dark fur was scattered all over its body and some parts seemed like they were decaying.

"CRONIE SPOTTED! ALERT ALERT!" the Annies declared.

The very reason why the Annies weren't preying on me anymore was because their priority shifted.

Necron was here.

I heard the loud cracking of trees and found the blue water becoming soiled. The trees started to die as well as every plant in this woodland.

I have to warn the Paragons.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I want to stimulate your ummm interest because it kinda hurt my feelings when no one really took the time to look deeper and create hypothesis for Saving Lucian but I understand though. It was my fault for making things so vague and complex. I'm just a sensitive potato roll haha.

I know you don't remember this statement from Asahi but see here:

"The Aishah's existence was never a planned one...we are never the creatures of this planet therefore suffering here is pointless."

What do you make of that? If you forgot, Aishah is the race where Lucian belonged to. Ancients are a mix of Aishah and Dearil (The real name of catastrophes.)

Saving Lucian left lots of unanswered questions but I did that purposely so that I can answer them here in Paragon.

Remember these parts?

"Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Matthew 24:30-31," Raphael murmured.

Samael rose from his seat with wide eyes as he stared at the person who was blowing the said instrument. "The one blowing the trumpet...isn't an angel."

Also, remember this description of Lucian?

My eyes darted at Asahi's heaving form and found him killing the last catastrophe. The catastrophe turned into gray ashes and fell on the burning ground. He emitted a blinding light like it was a response to the trumpet's call.

An angel was to blow that trumpet but instead someone else blew it haha It was Kade.
