Part One: The Devil In Angel's Feathers
He was a snake shrouded in the deceptive leather of lies, adorned in the silvery silks of beguiling charm, dripping from the sweet poison of a silent killer.
He was everything deadly yet covered in such alluring scales that one couldn't help but reach out to touch him.
And that one touch would be the last.
I was the only one who saw the venom underneath his silky tones, the darkness disguised by those irresistible features and the fangs protruding ever so slightly from his bewitching mouth.
He walked like a god while his admirers kissed the ground beneath his feet as if he was some sacred entity. But in reality, he was the devil shrouded in the blinding white feathers of the angels he had killed.
The blood-red dripping from those feathers was invisible to every other eye but mine though the fact that I could see him for who he was, became the cause of my own destruction.
I thought I knew his strengths and weaknesses like the back of my hand. I thought I knew him well enough to take him down.
Just one curse would be all it took to get rid of the lecherous python hiding in the greenery of our lives.
Just one curse passing my lips and just one jet of light striking his heart from my wand.
I thought I was the only one who could kill him.
And yet I thought wrong.
Because the second I killed him, everything stopped.
Time stopped.
And to this day, the dials on the clocks never really move an inch.
They spin continuously yet nothing ever changes.
At the end, all that is left is darkness and myself.
Darkness that he pursued and I who killed him.
Trapped in a never-ending paradox that I created when I chanted those cursed words.
"Avada Kedavra."
_Eleanor Troy.
