Dear Readers,

After three long years, I have finally completed the first and only Potterverse fanfiction I have on this account. I am so relieved and grateful because this story took me through a rough phase of writer's block and on-hold stages but at long last, all the trouble is done with and I am able to mark it as Complete. Yay!

[I am jumping from excitement, I have never been happier to finish a fic].

And all those who I couldn't mention, I am extremely grateful to you too for reading this story. The biggest support and motivation we have on this site is through the lovely community of readers who appreciate our work and I feel so blessed to be a part of it.

Paradox | T. Riddle started as an idea way before 2018 when I was still very active on my old account (Purplemist14) and was writing the Everything Wrong With HP Fanficitions guide book which kind of gave me the big break into the HP fandom here. 

Back then, I was writing a lot about cliche HP plots and had been reading fanfics available on this site for research purposes. Of course, I came across tons of Tom Riddle fics and my main problem with those that used time turners was the overused logic of sending the OC into the past to make Riddle fall in love with her and not become Voldemort as a result.

It was also the same time when I came up with the plot of Poison Ivy | T. Riddle (which was adopted and written flawlessly by my dear friend Obscure_Harmony) because I wanted more Tom Riddle fanfics that were spinning out of the cliche. So the idea for Paradox was born then where I just wanted to see what would happen if the OC went back in time, killed Tom Riddle, but then got stuck in a time loop as a consequence of her actions.

This is definitely the darkest story I have ever written and I think nothing else I write might take precedence over it. As I was rereading it to write the ending chapters, I was shaken myself by the themes in this story and the extent of the descriptions that I used. If it triggered anyone, I apologize though I did include warnings for each chapter. Still, I promise you guys, I will never write something like this ever again. It was just... Too much.

But all of you who read it and supported it will also know the reason this story is so dark. I didn't want to sugarcoat Tom Riddle or romanticize his personality. I also didn't want to make things easy through time travel because there must be a reason we can't travel through time and I wanted to explore the possibilities of someone messing up with time and then suffering the aftermath.

Paradox gave me the opportunity to write an alternate universe for the existing canon as you see a lot of things have been altered by the end. Harry got a loving family in the form of Reg and Elle, Remus got married to Esmeralda Troy, and of course, the Boy Who Lived got sorted into Slytherin and became best friends with Draco Malfoy.

I have left one point open-ended though for the readers to imagine however they want to. I never really said Voldemort was gone for good, I only wrote it through all my characters' perspectives who currently think he will not come back.

His horcruxes were destroyed but there is a chance he is still out there somewhere, too weak to do anything by himself and waiting to trap someone and use them to regain power. However, Wormtail will not be coming to his aid as he is stuck in Azkaban for life so even if the possibility exists for his return, there are no facilitating factors for it yet.

You can imagine what would happen next in this altered timeline as I won't be writing a sequel. Let me know what you think in the comments and I would love to hear if you guys have any ideas about their future.

For me, the story has come to an end and rightfully so as it took me a long long time to finish it. I don't know if I will be writing another HP fanfic on this account ever but it was good to see you all here, read your comments, and post each chapter knowing that you guys were waiting to read it.
