It takes years to build trust but only seconds to destroy it

"Mark called me yesterday night and he said he is coming today" I stayed quiet stabbing the pancake with my fork. "Did something happen?" I couldn't sleep last night. I woke up with headache and have to take medicine again. I went to sleep right after Hana left. Halmoni didn't get to talk to me. I already know Mark will tell everything to halmoni.

"He is just coming to visit. Nothing happened" she looked doubtful but shrugged it off. If something is wrong they will tell her first. Since Mark don't know what happened he might have not told her.

"I will leave now" I washed the plate placing it on the counter. I grabbed the bag from counter before walking out. I sighed once I was out mentally preparing myself. Today is going to be hell for me. I can feel it. I looked at Hana house but the door was already locked. She must have left early. I looked at time and my eyes widened. I only have ten minutes before first period starts.

It is fifteen-minute walk from home. I am not going to make it but I still have to try. I ran all the way and was relieved when I saw the school in my sight. I ran to classroom not bothering to get any books from locker. I will copy later from one of them. "I am sorry I am late" teacher looked at me disappointedly. I smiled apologetically. "Since it is first time I am letting you go"

I thanked her before sitting next to Jungkook. Hana looked at me and I signalled to her as I will talk later. Jungkook waved to me lightly. I waved back smiling at his childishness before opening the book he passed me. I couldn't focus on the class as I was thinking about how to explain to Taehyung and Mark. It seems like he didn't tell anything to others. Jin and Jungkook were casually talking to me.

If he told them they wouldn't act so naturally. I have to ask Hana if Jimin said anything to her. Soon the classes ended and it was lunch time. "Let's go to cafeteria" Jungkook hooked his arm with mine dragging me out. "I have some work. I will join you guys in five minutes" they all left me with Hana. She pulled me in to the washrooms.

"Why were you late?" I sighed rubbing my face "I woke up late. Halmoni told me Mark called her" I looked at the stalls making sure no one was there "what did he say?" she asked me "he just told her he is coming today" she sighed in relief "we have to find Jaebum and find out what Jackson want now"

"I don't have his number" I remember his house "I know his house address. I will go there" she hit my arm "you are not going alone. We will ask Mark to go with us" I looked at her "us?" she winked at me "you are not going to get rid of me easily" I smiled at her thankfully. "have you talked to Jimin?" she nodded her head.

"It seems like he doesn't know anything about you guys. Not even the date" I felt sad knowing he didn't tell anyone but then again it was only one day. What can I expect from him. "I will talk to Taehyung now" we both grabbed our books from the locker before going to cafeteria. We have to submit our history project today so Taehyung will come and he has to talk to me.

I walked to our table with Hana and saw everyone was already there. Jimin waved to Hana asking her to sit beside him. She made her way to him. The only place available was between Jungkook and Taehyung. I sat placing my lunch on the table. All the while Taehyung didn't glance at me not even once. "Taehyung~ah" I tried to talk to him when everyone was busy with their talks but he kept eating like he didn't hear me. "Y/n, you didn't even call me when you came back" Jia frowned at me.

"My phone is not working. It fell down that night" I have to take my phone for repair. Taehyung kept ignoring and I tried not to show it but I think Jimin observed and he glared at Taehyung. I tried few more times but he kept ignoring me. I gave up on convincing him. I am not the only one who kept secret. He did too. If he is gonna behave like this I will not bother with him.

"I will leave first" I told them before getting up taking my bag "but you didn't even finish your lunch" Jungkook frowned pointing to my plate. "I am not feeling hungry" I left right after that not waiting for them to speak. I thrown the plate in trash bin before walking out. My head was pounding and I felt little dizzy. I sat on the bench in the school garden and opened the bag. I took medicine out and took two pills.

I have to survive today. I can't afford to faint. I sat for few more minutes before making my way to class. Lets just get it with. I was the first to come to class. I pulled out the presentation preparing a bit. We know we won't have time so we practiced before going to camping. I took my essay report too placing it on the desk in order. Soon the bell rang making everyone pile in the class.

"Hey how was your weekend?" I smiled at Kai "eventful" he chuckled at my answer before sitting beside me. We both were talking casually but Kai face changed looking at person behind me. I heard someone clear their throat. I saw Taehyung sitting in the seat next to me. "We are supposed to practice. So if you are done with your conversation we should start" he said irritated looking at Kai. "Kai lets practice" Eunjung pulled him to back side.

I turned and saw Taehyung grinning happily. He changed his expression when he saw me. "Let's start" I ignored him. I observed he keep on glancing at me every once in a while but looked away when I looked at him. Is he trying to play hard? All the groups presented their papers and we were the last to explain. "Taehyung and Y/n" we took our presentation and stood in the front.

"Our project is about Rome. The language they speak is Italian" Taehyung continued explaining as we practiced. I explained my part when it was my turn. When I was stuck he helped me taking over the presentation. I felt happy knowing he still care for me. Soon class ended and we went to our last class. I decided to try one last time when we leave the school.

I saw Taehyung with Hana and Jimin. They were walking out of school. "Y/n" Hana waved to me when she saw me walking towards them. "Where are others?" I looked around but no one was there. "They wanted to go to café" Jimin hit Taehyung lightly and I looked at Hana.  

"Taehyung can I talk to you?" he looked at me coldly. "Speak" I glanced at them and Hana took Jimin arm and was about to leave. "They are staying here. You can tell me now"

"I wanted to tell you about everything but he beat me to it" I told him knowing Hana already know and Jimin will know soon too. It wont effect if he knows now. "When were you gonna tell me?" I jumped scared when he yelled. "I am sorry but let me explain" he chuckled humourlessly. "Hear what? That you lied" I got angry seeing how he is placing all the blame on me. 

"Don't act like you are the victim Taehyung. It's not like I am the only one who hid things. You didn't tell me about you being part of gang too" I told him pushing his chest "does that give you right to lie" he grabbed my hand pulling me closer "no it doesn't bu-" he pushed me away "I am glad I didn't like you for real. It was just a stupid bet anyway" he turned to Jimin "I am cancelling the bet man" he walked away leaving me with thousand questions.

"Bet?" I could only say that single word after everything happened now. "What does he mean Jimin?" Jimin was stunned like he didn't expect this. But I know what Taehyung said is true when I looked at Jimin. His expression gave it all. I shook my head disappointed before leaving from there.

I ignored Jimin calls and walked to my home. Tears were flowing down my cheeks but I couldn't care less now. It felt like sky was sad too. The heavy rain pouring from the sky didn't bother me. All the energy drained from me. My salty tears were mixed with rain drops. I was glad for the rain this time. I couldn't forget the look on his face when he told me about the bet.

What did I expect from him? Is it really game to him? I can't believe that I am just some bet to him. If I am a bet he doesn't have to get mad at me. I know I mean more to him than the stupid bet. At least I believe I do. Only if he listened to me once he could have known the reason why I acted like that.

I stopped walking when I saw a familiar figure in front of my house. The familiar face I have been wanting to see for few months "Mark?" he smiled when he saw me and he opened his arms. "Long time no see" all the emotions came back looking at him. I rushed to him as I started crying. He effulged me in his famous bear hug "Aww... did you miss me that much" I pulled him closer and kept crying.

Halmoni came and stood in the balcony smiling at us hugging. "Did you come alone?" he nodded. I didn't let go of him yet. I was hoping to see my brother too. "He is managing some things. He will be here too" he let go of me before taking a look at me. He shook his head disapprovingly when he saw how wet I was from the rain. "You will catch cold. Let's get you changed" we all went in to the house. "This is your room. I will change in my room" I told him pointing to opposite door to his.

"How is everyone there?" I had shower and we both are sitting in my room talking now. He put his phone to charge and sat on the bed. "They are good. Busy but good" he patted spot next him. I sat facing him on the bed. "We found out he is in Seoul. I think we can catch him this time" my heart skipped a beat.

They are working hard to catch him. it will be matter of time before they find out about boys too. "So, tell me why were you crying earlier?" I looked at him "can't I miss my friend?" he snorted. "I know you too well. You are not a cry baby. Tell me who made you cry?" I smiled cheekily.

"Will you beat him for me?" he gave me a look as in 'you have doubt'. I laughed and told him the boy I like has misunderstood me and is not talking to me. I couldn't tell him about their bet or his work. "Give him some time he will come around" he said earning a nod from me. "I forgot to tell you I called Hana. She will be here in few minutes" before I can react we heard a knock.

"That must be her" he went downstairs and came back in a minute with Hana. We both looked at each other "Are you gonna tell me now?" Hana looked at me nervously. Here goes nothing. I mentally prepared myself for the long talk.
