Together by MJ
“I want to be a superhero,” a very annoying and familiar voice said as it took my essay paper. I looked up to see the one and only Chloé Bourgeois.
“Hey!” I yelled and she gave me an annoyed look, ‘you're the one that took my paper! Why are you the one annoyed?!’
“Superheroes aren't real Marinette you should know that-- oh wait you are too much of an idiot to know that, besides even if superheroes are real, you will never become one.” Chloé teased and gave one of those annoying bratty laughs as she and her ‘friend’ Sabrina left.
I couldn't help but let out a little sigh, I should be used to it by now but I can't help but feel sad.
“I'll show you. I'll be the first ever superhero,” I muttered quietly, looking down at my slightly clenched fists.
“Hey.” I heard yet another familiar voice of another familiar blonde I looked at him and saw him have a small smile.
“What? You're here to make fun of me too?” I asked not even trying to hold in the bitterness of my voice.
“No. Not at all,” He said as he showed his paper as well, what I saw definitely made me happy for some reason. I don't know why, but maybe because…
“Why don't we both be the first superheroes? Together,” He said with the brightest smile I ever seen.
“Together!” I exclaimed giving him a bright smile of my own.

“You are to write an essay about your dreams. Be it for yourself or for others, material or not it's all up to you and of course, your partner,” Mme. Bustier said, essays about dreams are usually done alone but Mme wants us to learn more about each other and told us to give an insight on each other's dreams.
It’s a good thing if I don't get partnered up with Chloé. I'm not afraid of her nor am I affected by her but she doesn't do any work-- NOTHING!
Alya knows what I want to be in the future, a fashion designer and she wants to be a journalist, or as she says a writer for Marinette Dupein-Cheng’s future world known fashion magazines.
I still remember the essay from third grade-- ‘I want to be a superhero.’ There's more to it really, but that was the main point. Has it happened yet? No, not yet. I don't even know if I believe in superheroes anymore, it all seemed to be a distant, childish dream. I'm still a Lil’ bit sad from losing the essay when me and my family moved houses, I was reading it while we were on the road and I've always liked the fresh breeze so I left the window open and guess what? The paper flew away and that's the last time I saw it. I don't remember anything else from third grade except for the essay, Alya and Chloé’s everyday teasing.
“Alya and Nino,” Mme said and I gave Alya a small smile as she sat down beside her partner.
“Marinette and…...Adrien.” Adrien? Why does that name sound so familiar?
‘I'm Adrien Agreste.’
‘Marinette Dupain-Cheng, nice to meet you!’
What was that? Some sort of fuzzy memory, it was somehow familiar...that name. The voice.
“Adrien is here?!!?” Chloé screeched snapping me out of my thoughts. Chloé knows the Adrien kid. The Adrien kid might be like Chloé. Be careful Marinette, but no I shouldn't jump into conclusions yet.
“Yes, Chloé now would you please quiet down?”
“No! I want to be partnered with Adrikins! She-” Chloé ordered pointing at me as she paused.
“-is not fit to be with Adrien! I am!” Chloé exclaimed once more making Mme groan in frustration.
“Tone it down Chloé. I have assigned who will be partnered with who so please respect my decision,” Mme said trying not to make matters worse.
“Ugh, I will tell my Father and you will lose your job! Now, Adrien me,” Chloé said with a snap of her finger.
“As the mayor’s daughter’s teacher, I am supposed to teach you how to act properly not as a spoiled little girl. Now, sit and listen,” Mme stated making Chloé sit down with an annoyed huff.
The school day ended with me not being able to meet my so called partner, Mme said she gave Adrien my address so that we can still work on it together. I thought it was creepy at first but my grades depends on this besides, almost everyone at schools knows where I live.
“I'm home.” I called out and walked to the cashier where my mama stands and gave her a small kiss on the cheek.
“Welcome home dear. Your papa is waiting for you at back,” Mama said as she pointed towards the kitchen. I quickly grabbed an apron and headed towards the kitchen.

”Nathalie, I thought you'd clear my schedule today so I could attend school. Father already gave permission.” I argued as Nathalie relayed the news that my schedule is once again packed until five in the afternoon.
“I'm sorry Adrien, but your father-- tomorrow Adrien. I'll try to talk with M. Gabriel again about your job offers,” She said. Nothing’s really new, father might have given me permission but I already knew it was just to shut me up. You see, I've been enrolled in a Lycée for a while now but I never got to actually attend school. Due to me being absent everyday, the school just sends me the works I need to catch up on so I can pass.
I nodded at Nathalie as I let a small sigh escape my lips. Just like usual, photoshoots, interviews, fittings and so much more.
“Come on Adrien, your father wouldn't want you to be late.”
“Yes Nathalie.”
We were gonna have a photoshoot at the Trocadéro for the summer line which is supposed to be release in two months.
“Adrien. Picture yourself in a flowery meadow with Maman. A soft expression on your face! Yes! Perfect!” The photographer said as I just went on autopilot. Modeling is like second nature to me, my mind processes the images and my body does its work.
“Alright, good job Adrien. Take a short break,” Nathalie said as she went to talk with the photographer. I just decided to walk around trying to find anything interesting. Just like always -- nothing.
Then I got a text message from, I suppose, one of the school teachers.
‘Adrien, you didn't attend school today and I thought you'd like to know about a pair project we have. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, your partner, would explain everything to you. She lives in a bakery across the park near the school.’
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, now why does that name sound so...nostalgic? Like whoever it is played an important role in my childhood. I don't even know if father would approve of me going to someone's house late or if the girl, the name sounds like a girl's so, actually knows I'm coming. I should at least...try I guess?
“Nathalie, is there any chance for you to help me?” I asked Nathalie as I approached the stairs where she was sitting on.
“If it doesn't go against M. Agreste’s wishes, of course.” Nathalie nodded. Father did allow me to attend school, so…
“Well I've been paired with someone for a project of some sort and I was wondering if I can visit her?”
“Adrien, the shoot ends at five M. Agreste wouldn't want you to go home late. I am sorry but you may not.” Nathalie answered.
“How about tomorrow?” I asked and Nathalie sighed with a hesitant nod.
“Now, back to the shoot.“ She ordered

”Fly away, evil little akuma and find me the miraculouses!”
“Plagg! Plagg where are you?!” I yelled zooming around the skies of Paris. Everything was going smoothly until I saw a purple-black butterfly heading towards the Seine. Hawk Moth is back
Hawk Moth, was supposed to be a superhero but when we lost Nooroo an evil guy found him and the miraculous. It was a mistake to spread out to find a new set of heroes. Me and Plagg went to Paris while Nooroo and Wayzz went to Shanghai. How Nooroo got here, we don't even know.
“Tikki!” I heard Plagg yell from the opposite direction,I quickly flew towards him. He seemed so nervous, he usually puts on a poker face but right now his emotions shone through. He was--is really worried.
“What do we do Plagg!? Wayzz is missing, Nooroo is still in the hands of evil and-” I started to panic, I rarely do since I've been alive for thousands and thousands of years already and my knowledge helps me keep calm.
“Calm down Tikki, this is not like you!” Plagg yelled snapping me out from my panic attack.
“-but Plagg, we still don't have a Ladybug nor a Chat Noir,” I said, calmly this time but still nervous.
“Well, we still have that essays from the two kids who wants to be superheroes, that's enough right?” Plagg asked slowly regaining his typical lazy demeanor.
“We can't just base who Paris’ superheroes are gonna be from wishes of a child Plagg, a child.” I reasoned and Plagg just yawned.
“Then why'd you keep the paper safe until now? You've been considering her. Imma go get my holder, hopefully he has some cheese with him,” Plagg said finally as he flew away. He has a point, that lazy bum.
I felt something special when a piece of paper blew towards the tree we stayed in once. Plagg said it was just some kid throwing away his or her trash but he didn't threw away his when he got one.
As Kwamis we knew and will always know if someone has potential.

’I want to be a world renowned fashion designer one day. A designer that would be able to make someone's inner sparkle, shine on the outside as well…’
What else should I write? I always thought about why I want to be a designer but sometimes I doubt myself.
I looked at the clock and it showed 5:30.
“I guess that Adrien kid doesn't want to work on this project. Maybe he's just like Chloé, or worse. At least Chloé would show up, well sometimes,” I muttered to myself as I unconsciously doodled on my essay paper.
“Come on Marinette, you can't judge someone by just one mistake,” a small, squeaky voice said from just above me.
I looked up in surprise and found a flying-red bug thingy.
I let out a shriek of surprise as I fell down from my chair and scrambled to get away from that…whatever it is.
“Calm down Marinette! I won't hurt you,” It said as it came near me. I grabbed one of my pencils and pointed it at her--it, I don't even know anymore!
“What are you? Some kind of insect? You have spots...maybe you're a red dalmatian. No Dalmatians have more spots, so what are you?” I asked to her, to myself, to-- look I’m confused right now, I don't even know what's happening!
“I'm Tikki a kwami! I am here to grant you your wish!” It--she, ok let's settle with she for now okay? Okay. Alright? Confused!
“So you're like a genie? And what wish are you talking about? If you mean an unlimited supply of cloth and sewing materials then I'll gladly oblige.” I slowly lowered down my pencil as she sat down on my palm.
“No. That's not the wish I meant. The wish I'm talking about is the one you had as a third grader,” she answered with a kind tone to her voice making me sure that she isn't gonna harm me.
“You mean...the unlimited supply of sketchbooks and pencils?!” oblivious me asked which made Tikki hit her head with her small hands--paws.
“No! I meant the superhero wish!” She exclaimed and I finally got it.
“Oh! I see, but superheroes aren't really real...are they?” I asked, maybe a small desire to protect and be loved by a city is still there deep down inside me.
“Of course they are! I mean, I exist, don't I?” She smiled at me sweetly giving me much more hope.
“But what if this is all a dream? I mean it sure does feel like a dream.” I muttered which she caught onto.
“This isn't a dream Marinette, I promise! Now do you want to help Paris?” She asked, I nodded. She explained lots of things to me including what I should do with the butterfly, who I should or should not trust etc. Etc.
“-then put this earrings on and say the magic words! ‘Tikki, Trans-”
“Abracadabra?” I asked as I put on the earrings.
“No! Tikki, Transform me!”
“Ok I don't see how those are magic words but alright. Tikki, Transform me!” I yelled and then Tikki got sucked into the earrings she gave me. My clothes disappeared and got replaced by a black spotted red suit with a matching mask and some sort of yoyo. The suit looked uncomfortable but really, it's comfy! I wonder what material it's made of?
I unhooked the yoyo and flew out of my room, towards the Seine as Tikki told me, there I saw a blonde haired boy wearing a cat suit. He had a familiar aura with him...
______________________________________________________
It was already twenty minutes past five when we got home from the shoot, I immediately rushed towards my room to just-- I don't know sleep, play video games…
As always except for the furniture and appliances, my room would be practically empty. Wait…what's that black thing on the table?
I slowly made my way towards the coffee table and pounced on the black...cat?
How can black cats be this small? Maybe it's a kitten? Plus why are the whiskers in the wrong places? Why is it glaring at me?
“What's wrong with you kid? Can't you see I was sleeping?” He--it--let’s settle with he, for now, said.
“Since when did cats learn the ability to talk?” I asked and he just groaned as he sat up giving me a much more deadly glare.
“I'm not a cat! I'm a kwami you stupid human,” he said.
“What's a kwami then? Why is a ‘kwami’ in my room?” I asked slowly releasing him from my grasp.
“A kwami, a magical creature. I am here to make you a superhero, grant you paw-ers yadah yadah yadah,” he lazily explained. That cat pun tho…I think we'll get along quite fine.
“A superhero? You mean like Sailor Moon?!” I exclaimed, excited obviously. I've always wanted to be a Sailor Scout.
“Whoever that is, no! You'll not become a sailor of the moon or whatever,” Plagg answered, well that's a bummer.
“Aww….so what kind of hero will I be? Like Sailor Mars?”
“Kid, why don't you get your head examined first? Pfft, who got the time for that? Anyway-- you just have to say ‘Plagg, Transform me!’ then you'll have the power of destru--”
“I would have thought of a more magical line, something like ‘Metamorphose’ but I guess it doesn't suit cats...maybe butterflies but not cats.”
“Stop interrupting kid! Now you have the power of destruction, you have a partner, talk to her…” Plagg explained, on and on and on with lots of yadahS and cat puns.
“Okay then. Plagg, Transform Me!” I yelled out and he got sucked into the ring he gave me in the middle of the explanation, the ring turned black and showed a paw. My clothes were exchanged with black leather and a belt which is very long and part of it acted as a tail. I gained another set of ears so that'll be useful!
“Definitely not a sailor scout,” I muttered and grabbed the baton Plagg was talking about. He also said be careful since it hits hard.
So I vaulted out of my room without any thoughts if Nathalie would find out I'm gone, granted I hit the mirror a few times, and headed towards the Seine. After a while I saw a girl heading towards me, she must be the partner Plagg told me about.
We stared at each other for a while and then I decided to introduce myself.
“I'm...I'm Chat Noir!” I exclaimed holding out a hand.
“Mari-- Ladybug! I'm Ladybug, nice to meet you, partner.” She took my hand and gave it a nice shake. I don't know why, but her voice….it sounds so familiar. Like I've met her before and--
Then and there, a loud crash was heard interrupting me from my thoughts.
“So...I guess this is our first duty as superheroes?” She asked a little bit bashful.
“Yup! And we're gonna do this together!” I exclaimed encouraging her.
“Together!” She looked at me with a bright smile. A insanely familiar smile.

First of all no, I haven't watched Sailor Moon haha.
Second, I support the headcanon that states Adrien watches anime.
So if you guys are a bit confused, this is my version on how the two became superheroes! This was a thought that came to me around three weeks before school started (For me at least.) and what better way to spend the day than to think about this thing.
I tried to make it as far away from the actual origins as possible because...I can't explain it but I think you know what I mean. (I kept some details tho, like Adrien wanting to go to school.)
It was kinda rushed since I originally planned this to be a short fanfic, but ┐(=^-ω-^=)┌
Ok that's it baaaiiii. (Why is this a/n so long?)
-MJ is out 😸
