First Meet ?

The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm golden hue over the cricket ground. The sounds of bats hitting balls, coaches shouting instructions, and players running drills filled the air. Among them, a tall man stood at the crease, focused on his training. He took a perfect swing, sending the ball flying across the field. Just as he was about to take another shot, he heard someone call his name.

Voice from a distance
Shubman

Shubman paused, lowered his bat, and looked towards the voice. He reached up and removed his helmet, revealing his sweat-soaked hair and intense expression. A charming smile crept onto his face.

Hi, I’m Shubman Gill. Cricketer by profession, heartthrob by accident. But let me tell you something—love, relationships, shaadi... it’s all just a big distraction. I’ve got my eyes on one thing—cricket. And marriage? Hah! That’s a game I’m never playing

He wiped the sweat from his brow and glanced around the field, his eyes reflecting a mix of determination and nonchalance.

Shubman continuing
People say I’m good at breaking hearts, but that’s only because I don’t let anyone break mine. Love, shaadi... yeh sab distractions hain. Aur main distractions ke liye bana hi nahi hoon.

~

Just then, Ishan Kishan, Shubman’s best friend and teammate, jogged up to him, slinging an arm around his shoulders.

Ishan teasing
Wah, wah! Shub aaj toh sab ball pe chakka aur chauka.. kya baat hai kuch special hai yaa koi special one came to see you for training

Shubman grinning
Chall hatt koi aur kaam nahi hai tere pass mujhe pareshaan karne aajate ho

The two shared a laugh, their camaraderie evident in the way they joked around.

*Scene Transition: Shubman’s Home - Evening*

Shubman returned home after an intense training session, still energized from the workout. As he walked through the door, he was greeted by the familiar warmth of his home. His parents were sitting in the living room, and as soon as they saw him, they exchanged a look that Shubman didn’t miss.

Shubman’s Father smiling
Shubman, aaj ka training kaisa raha?

Shubman grinning
Jaise hamesha rehta hai—perfect.

He placed his cricket bag down and joined them on the sofa. His mother handed him a glass of water, which he accepted with a smile.

Shubman’s Mother hesitantly
Beta, hum tumse kuch baat karna chahte hain.

Shubman took a sip of water, already sensing where this conversation was heading.

Shubman raising an eyebrow
Shaadi ki baat karne wale ho, right?

His parents exchanged another look, confirming his suspicion.

Shubman’s Father gently
Beta, tumhari umar ho gayi hai. Hum chahte hain ki tum settle ho jao. Shubman, ek ladki hai—bahut achi family se hai. Humne socha tha—

Shubman cut him off, setting the glass down with a bit more force than necessary.

Shubman firmly
Shaadi? Nahin, mujhe shaadi se koi interest nahi hai. Love, commitment, yeh sab mere liye nahi hain. Main apni life mein khush hoon, aur mujhe kisi ki zaroorat nahi hai apni zindagi complete karne ke liye.

His parents looked at each other with concern. His mother placed a hand on his arm.

Shubman’s Mother softly
Hum samajhte hain, beta. Tum aisa isliye keh rahe ho kyunki Sara ke saath jo hua tha…

The mention of Sara’s name made Shubman’s expression harden. A flashback hit him like a ton of bricks—images of him and Sara laughing together, planning a future, promising to be together forever. But then, the memory of her betrayal, the way she broke his trust, flooded his mind.

Shubman in the present, coldly
Sab ladkiyan ek jaisi hoti hain, Maa. Sara ne jo kiya, uske baad mujhe kisi pe vishwas nahi hai. Sab kuch bas ek dhoka hai.

His mother tried to protest, but Shubman stood up abruptly.

Shubman with finality
Main is baare mein aur baat nahi karna chahta. I don’t want to talk about marriage, love, or anything related to it.

He turned and walked away, heading upstairs to his room. His parents watched him go, a mix of sadness and worry on their faces. Shubman entered his room and closed the door behind him, leaning against it as he tried to push the painful memories away.

He walked over to the window and looked out at the night sky, his heart heavy with unresolved emotions.

Shubman thinking to himself
Pyaar sirf dard laata hai. Main usse door hi theek hoon. Shaadi… woh toh meri dictionary mein hai hi nahi.

With a deep breath, he pulled the curtains shut, trying to shut out the world and the emotions that threatened to overwhelm him. He was determined—cricket was his life, and he wasn’t going to let anything, or anyone, distract him from that.

**Scene: Shubman’s House - Evening**

Shubman was lounging on his couch, scrolling through his phone, lost in thought. Suddenly, his phone rang, breaking his reverie. It was Ishan calling, and there was an urgency in his voice.

Ishan frantic
Shubman! Jaldi hospital aa. Rohit bhai ki maa ko hospital le gaye hain. Situation serious lag rahi hai.

Shubman’s heart skipped a beat. Without wasting another second, he grabbed his keys and rushed out of the house, his mind racing.

---

**Scene: Hospital - Night**

Shubman arrived at the hospital, making his way through the crowded corridors. The smell of antiseptic filled the air, and the tension was palpable. He spotted Rohit standing near the ICU, Ritika by his side, trying to stay strong but clearly shaken.

Shubman concerned
Rohit bhai, kya hua? Aunty ko achanak kya ho gaya?

Rohit with a heavy heart
Bas yaar, achanak se tabiyat kharab ho gayi. Doctor keh rahe hain ki condition serious hai, lekin woh fight kar rahi hain.

Shubman placed a reassuring hand on Rohit’s shoulder, trying to comfort him.

Shubman confidently
Aunty fighter hain, bhai. Sab theek ho jayega. Tum tension mat lo, hum sab unke saath hain.

Ritika nodded, appreciating Shubman’s support, even though the worry in her eyes was evident.

Ritika softly
Thank you, Shubman. Tumhara yaha aana humare liye bahut kuch hai..

Shubman gave them both a supportive nod and decided to give them some space. As he turned to leave the hospital, still lost in his thoughts about Rohit’s mother, he didn’t notice a girl rushing towards him.

**Scene: Hospital Corridor - Night**

Suddenly, there was a collision. A girl bumped into Shubman, causing his phone to slip out of his hand and crash onto the floor. His frustration boiled over.

Shubman angrily
Aankhein hai ya button? Pagal ho kya? Dekh ke nahi chal sakti?

The girl, none other than Reet, was equally agitated, already on edge due to her mother’s condition. She shot back at Shubman without hesitation.

Reet furiously
Tumhe dikhai nahi deta kya? Firstly you are using your mobile so blindly that you can't see anyone and secondly you bumped onto me and now you're blaming me what a fool you are Mr.! Aur waise bhi, yeh hospital hai, garden nahi jo walk pe nikalgay!

Shubman was taken aback by her sharp response, his irritation growing.

Shubman sarcastically
Waah! Tum jaise ladki ko tameez sikhane chahiye. Agar dekh ke chalti toh yeh sab nahi hota."

Reet’s patience was already thin, and Shubman’s words were the last straw.

Reet with clenched fists
Acha? Tum jaise logon ko apne status ka itna ghuroor hota hai na, ki tumhe lagta hai tum kabhi galat ho hi nahi sakte. Bas doosron pe ilzaam lagana aata hai.

Shubman stared at her in disbelief, not used to being spoken to like this, especially by someone who seemed so unimpressed by him. He picked up his phone, now scratched and slightly damaged, and shot her an annoyed look.

Shubman coldly
Tumse baat karna hi time waste hai. Bas dua karta hoon ki tumse phir kabhi milna na ho.

Reet angrily
Hatt yaha se!

As Shubman stormed off, Reet stood there, her anger simmering. She recognized him instantly—how could she not? He was Shubman Gill, the cricket sensation and the cricketer who had an playboy image.
But right now, all she could think about was how much she disliked him, even more so after this encounter.

Reet muttering to herself
Kaise namoona tha bc... medias are so right about him rude, self centered and most importantly arrogant!

Shubman, on the other hand, couldn’t stop thinking about how rude and annoying the girl was. As he walked out of the hospital, he couldn’t shake off the encounter.

Shubman thinking to himself
Pata nahi kis musibat mein pad gaya tha aaj. Woh ladki bilkul unbearable thi. Umeed karta hoon, phir kabhi usse samna na ho.

Both walked away from the encounter with irritation and frustration, hoping they wouldn’t have to deal with each other again....
