The guild was the same as usual and my group (except levy) was caught up in a new brawl with random mages. I ignored the fight and sat with Cana who was passed out.

My thoughts wandered to 2 days ago, the headmaster talked about my father, Ryuji Saito. I figured if he won't tell me, then i'll ask some older members about him.

I sensed some object flying towards me, I moved out of the way and saw the idiot duo who looked deathly pale. 

"That wasn't me!" Jet said, protecting himself from me. 

"Or me either!" Droy said after.

Before I could send paper cuts to many mages for that, Levy interrupted us and said-

"Hanako! We're going on our first D rank job!" Levy said, saving them. 

"Levy-chan.." The two idiots were crying with tears of joy, and bowed at the poor girl. "Thank you for saving us!"

They grabbed my arms and dragged me away from my chair. We made our way to the request board while they finally let me down. 

Anyway, the first D rank jobs are available to mages who are 10 years or older, it's targetted for the newbies or children of the guild. I turned ten last week and they were a year older than me. 

"Out of the way, side characters." I said outloud from the background of noises and gave way for our team. Our group looked at each request that were posted on the board.

There were many D-rank missions that came from normal civillians without magic, or some rich civillian. The D rank was the lowest/easiest and has a low chance of death for mages.

"HIRING: Pepe's Pizzeria"

Details: Requires mages to entertain customers and be waiters or janitors. No experience needed. In need of the following: Cashier, janitors, waiter, or cook.

Location: Pepe's Pizzeria, Daisy Town.

"Lame.." I said and looked at them. "Let's gather the requests in that table."

"HEY! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" A random voice shouted at us, as we plucked requests from the board. We ignored them and gathered the papers in our usual table.

Levy showed us another one. Jet looked down and read the paper.

Dangerous Wild Plants

Details: Plants that can send fire out of their mouths are destroying my field, get rid of them as soon as possible.. An increase of reward is possible depending on the performance. (ANY RANK IS WELCOME)

"We hit a jackpot. It's from a mayor.." I showed them the request. 

"Yes.. this is perfect for our first mission! Let's go to Iruma-san."

"I don't know.. it looks pretty dangerous." Levy frowned at the details.

"Come on its just plants.." Jet said, trying to impress her.

"There's nothing that could go wrong.. right?" Droy said, totally not jinxing this mission.

Our group made our way to Iruma, the waitress of the guild. She's the one in charge of accepting and declining job request for mages. 

"Hey, paper freak. What are you guys yapping over there?" She called to us with a challenging gaze. I sense trouble again.

"Nothing that concerns you." I gave a close-eyed smile.

"Oh yeah? Let me take a look then." she ran to us with her normal speed. Oh no she won't..

I passed the paper to Jet as he zoomed past her. He slammed the counter and placed it in front of a confused Iruma-san. She looked at it and called our names to the counter.

I did a highfive with the orange head mage and childishly pulled my tongue out at the demon mage. And in return, I got a punch in the face.
